Denying Ones Self
Matthew 16:24-26 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
You must give up yourself completely to God. A choice is made daily whether you will deny yourself and follow God. If you found yourself in the pits of hell you would give anything to not be there. The lost will have at least one opportunity to make a choice whether they will deny themselves and accept Jesus and His salvation. Those that are saved also have a choice whether they will deny themselves over Christ. If we want to be blessed of God then we MUST deny ourselves. The power of the church is leaving because we've let the flesh overtake us. It's a constant battle to overcome the flesh thru Christ. You money and other earthly possessions will ALL burn up in the end. The only thing that will stand is the work that has been done in His name. The flesh wants items in this world just because it's a lustful being. How often do you allow your tongue to ruin your witness or ruin denying yourself? It takes much discipline to walk in Christ's will. Do you find yourself wasting time for yourself during a free time?
Preached by Bruce Whitehead on February 17, 2016 (Wednesday).
Burning Others with Words
Matthew 26:69-75 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Our words are powerful, our speech betrays us too. If you're converted your speech should betray that. Your speech and actions should show you're a believer. The tongue can do more damage than the sword. There's a great danger. We damage people with our words. Col 4:6 the strength of the words come from the heart of man. Out of the evil of our heart we speak evil things. The Word of God says we should be slow to speak and swift to hear. We are required by the Word of God to keep ourselves accountable. We have been commissioned to spread the Word of God with speech. You have no right or excuse to speak evil as a child of God. Your tongue is like a flame. You can burn people if you're not careful. Let your speech be seasoned with salt. Not poured out with salt. Seasoned. Love your neighbor with grace but don't forget, just a little salt.
Preached by Tommy Boring on February 7, 2016 (Sunday Morning).
Think Before You Speak
Philippians 1:25-30 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Everything will simply work out if we just obey God. It may nor be that every time we meet that someone gets saved, but the Word does not go out void. We don't always like to hear the Word of God but we should always be thankful and take it to heart. Once you've been convicted and you realize you're lost, it shouldn't take long for you to begin asking how to be saved. There are things that Christians should take head to. One of those is our conversation, our tongue. You should always stand behind what you say. Our tongue should not rule our lives and others in a negative way. We should have FULL control of our tongues. The flesh is contrary to good. Be careful around your children and what you say about about another. Do not teach them to speak about others negatively.
Preached by Tommy Boring on June 25, 2014 (Wednesday).
Blessed Are The Feet
1 Corinthians 1:1-2 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Those that have been called are those that have been called by God to do His will. We should pray for the men of God, preachers. When God calls men, He calls them to His purposes and you shouldn't talk about them. You should be very careful of those that you see or hear on the TV or radio. Not every person is called of God. Do not give the called men of God credit. God is looking for a vessel to pour into so that they will not change what He pours. The devil hates the men of God. He wants to tear up their home and ruin their lives because others are watching and tears down their hope and faith. You should bath your pastors in prayer every opportunity that you have. Even though David knew he was to be the king, he did not touch Saul due to David's reverence to Gods anointment on Saul. When you pray for the pastor, pray more for the function instead of the person. Satan wants to destroy the function of the pastor worse than the pastor himself.
Preached by Tommy Boring on June 26, 2013 (Wednesday).
The Unchanged Way
Isaiah 40:26-31 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
