Are You Still Doing Your Part?
John 14:8-15 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Being a Christian means we must work, it's never over being a Christian. Just because we get old doesn't mean we sit down and stop working. We all as Christians have a great work to do. We as the Christians are His mouth, hands, feet, the whole body of Christ. You can do all things, through Christ. Christ will not ask you to do something that He Himself hasn't already done. We should all be serious with the calling that Christ has given us. Christians are all a part of the same body, one not over the other. If one doesn't take care of their yard it will quickly turn into a mess. It turns into a mess because it's your yard to take care of. We are not saved by our works. Once you're saved, you're called to work.
Preached by Jeff Patton on August 3, 2016 (Wednesday).
Truth, Difference and Need
Jude 1:3-4 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
We live in a terrible time where wicked is all around us. The worst thing that could happen is that the Christians site back and do nothing. Men and women do not need God because they do not see it in others. If you've been born again then you've been given a job to share Christ with those around you. Psalm 11:23 The world has hammered at the foundation of God trying to destroy it since the beginning of time. People do not like the gospel of Christ because it denies them the ability to do what they want. If you think that what is going on in other countries where Christians are being slaughtered because they are Christians will never happen here, you're badly mistaken. How do we build the foundation back? We are to "fight" for Christ. This does not mean to physically fight but to spiritually fight by knowing you're of Christ and you LIVE for Him every second of the day. You must stand for Christ. The unsaved will hate you, make fun of you and will try to kill you. Genesis 1:1 Tells us that the world was made by God, the world tells us otherwise. If we allow schools to teach our children that the earth is billions of years old and was made by a Big Bang, in other words there is not God, then we've stated that the rest of the Bible is a lie. We also battle against sin, sin where there is no accountability. Sexual sins, fornication, adultery, homosexuality are all sins. Gossiping, lies, backbiting are also all sins. Our government have an agenda to rid God from our schools. Take a look at a child's text books and you'll see this. God has already declared the truth and no matter what someone wants to say as the opposite, Gods truth still stands. 2 Timothy We have to know the Word. Study because there are always tests and quizzes. 2 Timothy 1:4 You must know the difference between true and false. 2 Timothy 2:25 Know the need. The need is that there is a lost world that needs Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:2 Evil will continue to get worse BUT Christ will always win.

A Thirst For God
Psalm 42:1-11 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
John 7:37 In order to thirst for God we must first be without God. The world provides us a drink but it is not quenching. The world no longer thirsts after God. Do you hunger more for God than you do the things of the world? If you don't love God on Monday then you won't love Him on Sunday. The things that the devil gives does not nurture the soul. If you don't love Jesus then everything else will fall apart. If you go to church for any reason other than you love God, then you're going for the wrong reason. When you eat too much of the world you will begin to get full and no longer hunger for God. Because of the abundance of "church" and freedom we've become uncaring and too comfortable to love God. Wednesday night services is the icing on the cake for our worship. Are you gospel hardened? When times get hard and barren, thank God for it. There are some of us that need to be brought down in order for us to see that God is truly all we need. Pray that God makes you thirsty because if you are thirsty you will hunt for God.
Preached by Tommy Boring on June 18, 2014 (Wednesday).
Desiring a Double Portion
2 Kings 2:5-15 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
A lot of times we look to things to accomplish and if we don't do them then we feel as if we failed. Are we not to help people in need? We look at our small works and think how small but God uses it in a large way. We must be obedient to God. We do not know what is in store for the future when it comes to our works. We need people in the ministry that are not afraid of how large or how small they think their works are. Be impactful and love those that are not loved.once you realize that you can't do anything without God, then that is when you can start to do things with God. You need to ask yourself, what do you desire from God? Stop living up to someone else and start living up to Gods standard. How can you double impact someone's life? Use the gifts that God has given you and use them for what God intended them to be used for.
Preached by Jeff Patton on March 19, 2014 (Wednesday).
The Great Omission
Matthew 28:16-20 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
God will give you the power to do anything for Him. He has already made a way and prepared your path. It doesn't take just a preacher to make a disciple. The Word of God needs to be declared to the entire world. God said to send His Word to all the world. That is something that He commanded and we should be doing it. We are to teach to ALL nations not just to our local communities. There are some people that would give anything to have just a page from the bible to read. There is plenty of folks just in our backyard that need Jesus. Someone had to "preach" to you in order for you to be saved. It's unfortunate that there are multiple baptist churches, missionary, primitive, fundamental, independent, etc. Have you ever asked God what His will for you is? If you have and He has shown you, are you doing it?
Preached by Tommy Boring on August 4, 2013 (Sunday Evening).
