Because He Is Worth It
Hebrews 13:7 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
A Christian leader is one that leads by example and by respect. Great Christian leaders that have led by examples is Henry Webb. He lived almost 3.5 miles away from the church and would walk to the church house each and every time the doors were open. He walked thru all kinds of elements because God was worth it to him. A faithful member. The sad truth is that today, most have a problem getting out of bed when it's cold outside even though our vehicles are heated as well as the church. People are watching whether you want them to or not.

Henry Webb's obituary: "Henry Webb was born June 29, 1904, and departed this life Dec. 2, 1989, being 84 years, 5 months, and 3 days of age.

Henry professed faith in Christ and joined the New Providence Primitive Baptist Church on November 9, 1969, and was baptized November 16, 1969.

He was a very faithful member of his church and loved it and the people of the church.

He labored in the building of the New Providence Church both in the first building and in the present building, the church was his life as long as he was able to attend."

We should examine ourselves to make sure that what we show to the world is a godly life. God needs leaders in His church. Are you willing to be a leader? Are you able to? You must first be able before you can be a leader.
Preached by Bruce Whitehead on February 28, 2018 (Wednesday).
What Type of Soldier Are You?
Joshua 6:1-10 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
If you're a child of God, then you're in a battle. Your position might be different than the next. Most here in this country are patriotic and will fight for our freedoms. However, will you fight for God? There are more listeners than doers for God. If you are a preacher then you need to preach what God gives you and not sugar coat it. If our boss or a general tells us to do something we say yes sir or yes ma'am but when God tells us to do something we want to argue and whine about it. If we were getting paid to do Gods work, would you get a pay check at the end of the week? There are three categories of Christians. There are the armed. These are Christians that are on the front line. These carry the sword of the Spirit and are equipped with the armor of God. We as Christians should defend the Word of God in ALL circumstances. We should be equipped for battle through training. We have training sessions each Sunday morning during Sunday school. We also have training during preaching to teach us how to use our equipment, the armor of God. How often do you sit and try to figure out Gods plan? Another group of Christians is the trumpeters. Christians, ministers, preachers that are telling others that God is on His way. Don't stop sending out the Word as messengers. The third type of Christian is the ones that simple march. Marching is not doing anything but it's being obedient. Following the orders, filling in the gaps so there are no place for the devil to break through. Which Christian are you? Are you even in the battle at all?
Preached by Tommy Boring on May 27, 2015 (Wednesday).
Hide And Seek
Psalm 139:23-24 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Bodily exercise profit a person little if you are hiding from death. For God to search your heart you must first surrender to Him. What hinders you to surrender to Him and to hide Him from others? Have you ever felt like something was missing deep in your heart? If the people that actually claim to be Christians were acting as that was true, we would live in a different world. If you can't feel the Spirit of a God in your heart, then you need to either repent or be saved. Test yourself, when was the last time you felt or was moved by Gods Spirit? Are you sure that if God searched your heart that He would find that you are one of His? If you love Jesus then you will want to spend your time with Him with every opportunity that you have.
Preached by Tommy Boring on April 28, 2013 (Sunday Evening).
Who Is It That You're Following?
Acts 5:29 (Part of the 210th Original Tennessee Association of Primitive Baptist series).
There needs o be a change and we need to be looking to God. They don't come just words. Look to God for your answers. Many of godly men have come and gone with faults of their own. God has called us to do His work, but we complain and possibly turn it away. Be careful that you don't follow traditions and not God. The world will tell a Christian to sit down and shut-up. Change comes whether you want it to or not. God wants you to keep moving forward. The tradition of men will fall. If your tradition has nothing to do with God, then it isn't worth holding on to.
Preached by Jeff Whitehead on October 12, 2012 (Association Morning 2).
Sitting In Our Easy Chairs
