Who is Wise in God?
James 3:13-18 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
We should be careful that it's not about pride. In order to be taught, you must be teachable. You must forget about what people have said and get back to the Word of God. The Word of God is what will judge and teach, not what our forefathers set forth or said. A lot of people excuse themselves by not opening the bible. We should study to prove ourselves. If you asked someone a legitimate question they will try to give you an honest answer. Sometimes it's days if not weeks before we will pick up our bibles. Just because you read it doesn't mean that you've studied it. The bible isn't a dead word so it never gets old, it's a living word. One can't retire from God. It thrills God to get you smart in the Word. Sunday school is a must because we study the scripture. You need Jesus Christ as a tutor in your life daily. You can identify a wise man by his words. Conversation of God will make you a wise person. Just like their conversation, their works should back it up. If you can't walk it, don't talk it. If your works don't match your words then your neighbor will see a hypocrite. Where is righteousness found? The bible. Good conversation and good works will usually bring forth pride. Pride comes before a fall. Your good words from God and your good works from God will bring forth wisdom as long as you keep it in your heart and not your mind. A wise person is full of love and what is love? Jesus. If you're holding envy and strife in your heart then you are of the world and not of God. A Godly wisdom is pure, peaceable, gentle, easy to be persuaded by Gods Word, full of mercy and good works, without suspicion and is without hypocrisy. James 1:5 If you want wisdom, ask God for it without doubt and it will be given.

Running Jesus Through the Mud
Romans 6:23 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
We can lose our testimony very quickly if sin is allowed to enter in. A hypocrite is when you've thrown your testimony away. If one continues to sin knowing all along that your singing, God will address it. Just because you're saved doesn't mean you're e free to sin and do whatever you want to do. How far are you willing to play with sin? The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is to live for ever with God the Father. Just as a misbehaving child, the parents will only allow them to misbehave for so long. When you're saved and choose to sin without repentance, God will call you home.
Preached by Bruce Whitehead on April 22, 2015 (Wednesday).
Don't Drink the Kool-Aid
Genesis 3:1-9 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
The devil wants to confuse you. John 8:44 The devil is a liar. The devil wants you to die, be destroyed. We have a simple requirement from God and that is to be born again. That requirement must be made or we will all die and open our eyes in hell. Many live under a distorted truth. The devil doesn't show you his lies in black and white. There is nothing else that can save you from death. Anyone can make what they want from Gods Word but that doesn't make it different. God has never changed His Word for anyone. God never said you can do it on your own terms. How do you know if you're being lied to by the devil? Know the truth. In the flesh we desire to be in the world. 1 John 2:16 God is greater than the flesh. Don't allow the devil in your life. If you allow him in your life one small time, he will be in it in a big time. There will be a day when your eyes will be opened and you will see the sin in your life. You are accountable to your sin. Every time God comes to us we often sew ourselves fig leaves to cover our sin. Stop making excuses for your sins and repent. Titus 2:11 He will visit with ALL at some point. You can't hide from God. God is not shocked by your sin or put off by it. He's not fooled by your "fig leaves".
Preached by Tommy Boring on August 31, 2014 (Sunday Morning).
The Lie
Genesis 3:1-6 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Sin started with a lie. The devil is nothing but a liar and will never tell the truth. Many have fallen prey to the devils lies. The devil doesn't have any power. The problem with the devils lies is that he will tell you what the flesh wants to hear. The first lie that he devil told was that Adam and Eve would not die. The next lie the devil told them was that the would be like gods knowing between good and evil. All other gods are nothing more than idols. There can be only one God. The devil can't make you do it because he has no power over you. We live in a world that people believe the lies of the devil everyday. The devil lies about God because he hates God. He will tell you that God doesn't love you or God doesn't care about you. He will also tell you that God can't. The devil lies about Gods Word. The devil even tried to twist the scripture to Jesus. He also lies about other people. He devil lies to all of us. God hates a lying tongue. A lie can't stand against a truth just as darkness can't stand against the light. Don't be bound down by a lie for the truth WILL set you free. The devil will tell you that no one wants you, loves you or cares about you. The truth is that God loved you before anyone ever knew you and gave His own Son for you.
Preached by Tommy Boring on November 10, 2013 (Sunday Evening).
Where is the Change?
Romans 8:1-10 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Those that have been born again can not live in sin without living in unhappiness. Measure the things in your life, either they are for or against God. God is the god of love but He also is the god of wrath. One can play the game acting as if you are saved, but in the end God will know the truth of your salvation but it will be too late. Those that are His children will bare fruit. If you don't know what conviction of sin is then you've not been saved. People that want the world are likely lost. Haven't been to church in 50 years but yet you claim to be saved. If you are saved there is something in you that will tell you not to sin. Either you're lost or you're saved. Being on a church membership will not get you saved. If there is nothing in you that causes a constant warfare between what is right and wrong, you are lost.
Preached by Tommy Boring on October 20, 2013 (Sunday Evening).
