Teach a Child in the Way it Should Go
1 Samuel 3:1-10 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Giving the best to your children, Jesus. Teach them that in the time of their struggles to rely on God. We as parents have a major responsibility to bring up our children in a Godly way. Police your children and what they encounter whether it be the television, radio, schools or other homes. We as adults will be gone and our children will take over at that point. Your children need to see and hear us as parents pray and trust God. Prayer has been removed schools and the government. Just because you're a Christian doesn't mean that your child will also be a Christian. What keeps one out of hell is not someone else's salvation but theirs only.
Preached by Tommy Boring on February 14, 2016 (Sunday Evening).
Gods Will or the Comfort Zone
Genesis 28:10-22 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
God loves everyone of His children no matter what. Sometimes one has to leave to do Gods will, leave your comfort zone. There isn't anything that you'll go through that God hasn't been through already. If you're born again, there isn't anywhere you go where God is not already there. At times we may have to take a leap of faith to find Gods will. God is all knowing and He knows what we will do and what we won't do. If you're a child of God, all things will work out for the good. When God takes you on a journey He will always go with you and He will bring you home. One of the reason that we would have to leave our comfort zone is to leave the things that are holding us back.
Preached by Tommy Boring on April 29, 2015 (Wednesday).
Three Part Sanctification
Jude 1:1-2 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
God is not confused with us. If you're a child of God, then you have a responsibility to stay close to God. You should have something deep inside yourself that is different and calls you back to God. There is a doctrine that we as the children of God need to get and understand. Sanctification is only of a born again believer. The definition is the separation of the secular and sinful of this world and set apart for a sacred purpose. The bible teaches us that once you've been born again, you've been changed. There are three points to sanctification. 1 Cor 1:2, 1 Cor 6:5-11 Positional sanctification comes the very second you are saved. Nothing that we do will not change our positional sanctification. The youngest versus the oldest saved person is equal with their positional sanctification. The next point of sanctification is experiential. Each day we as born again believers should grow with Christ. The dash in the middle of your birthdate and your death date is what makes you who you are. But the day you became saved, the Holy Spirit has something for you to learn each and every day. God has called you and you will have no excuses to why you didn't do what He called you to do. The final point is at the end of our life we will be sanctified. 1 John 3:2-3 We will lay down our hinderance (flesh) and we will receive a new body like the Lamb of God and we will be Holy just as He is.
Preached by Tommy Boring on December 28, 2014 (Sunday Evening).
At the End of Your Rope
Jonah 2:1-10 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
When a man goes far enough from God, it takes desperate measures to go back. There are many in this world that they know that they've been saved but they've turned away from God. Even though those have turned away, God NEVER let's them go. God knows how to make you pray. To some that turn away, it takes the worst punishment for them to turn back to God. Man changes all the time but god has never changed. Not one personal can look upon another and judge them to say that they are being punished due to their backslid life. God will never give up on you if you are one of His. God was not joking around and laughing about it when He put His ONLY son on the cross and turn ed His back on Him to allow Him to die. God is not out to punish people. God just wants us to obey. All that one has to do is to confess their sins and turn back towards Him. Do you think God would take you home if you are behaving badly enough?
Preached by Tommy Boring on April 9, 2014 (Wednesday).
The Scarlet Letter
Exodus 20:14 (Part of the God's Top Ten series).
Almost everyone has encountered adultery. What does adultery mean; unfaithful. You can drive down the road and find on billboards, Internet all kinds of sexual adultery. Adultery is a marriage, family and testimony destroyer. The punish for adultery in the old testaments is death to both parties involved. Nothing hurts worse than an unfaithful relationship. What does adultery not mean? It has nothing to do with the bond of a marriage. What does adultery also mean? Not only the act but the thoughts and spiritual. Spiritual adultery is between one God and one person. Just as marriage is a covenant between one man and one woman, so is our spiritual covenant between us and God.
Preached by Tommy Boring on September 26, 2012 (Wednesday).
