Base of Help is Love
Galatians 6:1-10 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Some people feel that they aren't much help. The first thing we can do to help another is to restore them with meekness. God chooses to send us to help others. We must care enough to reach, love and care for another. We should never forget that we are all a part of Gods family. We are not to love the sin or the rebellion they might be in. We should also bear one another's burdens. To help we must get involved. You can't help another person if you don't love them. If love is not what motivates you to help, then it's done in the wrong way. One of the ways the devil works his hands is by telling us that the person got themselves in the situation, so we are not to help them. We are not to think of ourselves as something because we are truly nothing. We will all be held accountable if we have not done our very best. Money is not the only way that you help someone. We are to help the men of God however God tells us to do. If you do what God tells you to do by helping others, then you shouldn't have to worry about reaping corruption. If you help to gain for yourself, you will pay by your flesh. We have the tendency to tire and to give up while helping others. But don't give up! So who are you to help? We are to help ALL people, especially those that are followers of Christ.
Preached by Tommy Boring on December 29, 2013 (Sunday Evening).
Weeping for a Soul
Nehemiah 1:1-4 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Examine yourself. If you were the only representative for the church of a God, what would they see? Would they see in you a desire for Jesus Christ? We often lose touch living in our concert able lifestyles of those that are dying and of those that are in need. How many of us are truly concerned of those that are lost? Jesus didn't come to make your life easy, heal you or for your pleasure. Those that do not win souls to salvation is foolish. How did we as Christians get so comfortable that we no longer work in the field? We are more concerned about what hurts our feelings, selfish. If the motivation is not about the souls of the lost, then STOP IT. The purpose of the church is to show others salvation and to bring them into salvation. When was the last time that you wept, mourned and fasted for a soul? Does it bother you that you know people, loved ones that are doing to hell? Why wait for God to tell you to go? He has already told you to go with the Great Commission.
Preached by Tommy Boring on October 20, 2013 (Sunday Morning).
God With Us
Matthew 1:20-23 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Isn't it about time that you surrender to Him? God desire is to be with man and to have a true relationship. From the very beginning of time He walked with man, then sin came into mans life. Sin separates man from God. We shouldn't be into anything that God isn't in. Strip away everything around you, family, health and wealth, if God is not the only thing you have left, then you're lost. Something that can't be described is the presence of God in ones life. A God that can control the clouds, wind and the rain. Why wouldn't one want that on their side? God is everywhere, He's not only around you but He also can dwell inside you if you've been saved. Don't make God your copilot, allow Him to be your pilot.
Preached by Tommy Boring on September 1, 2013 (Sunday Morning).
Babes in Christ
1 Corinthians 3:1-8 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Every family has their own problems and issues. This is because we are humans, being carnal. As long as we live here on this earth we will always be challenged. God will challenge those that are His. He's forever teaching those to grow. Many wear the Christian name tag but are not of Christ. Those people may fool others but you can't fool God for He knows if you've been saved and one of His or not. Those that walk after His Spirit will not fall for the worldly sins and the things of the flesh. The world and God needs mature Christians. Being saved doesn't mean that your path and walk will be easy, in-fact it's the opposite and is a hard battle. Are you allowing God to grow you? Don't let your flesh/mind dictate what your walk will be, pushing God away. Everyday we influence people around us. It's up to a grown-up Christian to teach those that are around us. Are you living committed to God? God's not just concerned about the obvious categorized sins like drugs, alcohol or immoral sex, He's concerned about a Christians witness and growth. Everyday we must decide what we will eat from the table of Christ. Will be grow up and eat the meat or will we continue to drink the milk? God is not a negotiator nor a bargainer. He left His word in black and white and we are responsible for it.
Preached by Tommy Boring on July 28, 2013 (Sunday Evening).
How Serious Are You?
Isaiah 55:1-5 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Serious was tearing the roof off when you couldn't get through the door. It was casting all you had of two mites. It was laying your head on a chopping block knowing it was over. We love a life of ease and pleasure. We expect a hand out without working. We are usually more concerned with our own flesh than others. Yet we expect God to save but we take our relationship with Him for granted. Have you ever thought about the crazy love that God has for you? The greatest commandment that God gave us was for us to love Him back with ALL our hearts. Is your heart divided? Do you realize that most of the things we do each day doesn't matter? When you truly love God, you will want to do what God tells you. People attend church and never feel or do anything but leave saying they served God. Do you love God more than food? Then go without it a day or two. Do you love Jesus more than entertainment? Did you look for your cell phone before you came to church tonight? How about your bible? How many things are more important to you than God? What if God told you He was going to take those things away? How bad do you really want God to move and be in your life? Relationships are closer if work is involved for each other. Are you working for God? Do you brush your teeth or take a shower longer than you read your bible? You can tell God all day long that you love Him, but never show it. Love is an action, show Him that you love Him. Do you love Jesus? Do you really? Is your love conditional, you need Him only when something is wrong in your life?
Preached by Tommy Boring on May 22, 2013 (Wednesday).
