Endurance
Matthew 24:1-14 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Being a Christian is not a sprint, it is a cross country marathon. The world that we live in now is the last days. Christians are being persecuted, murdered, beheaded. The Word of God is being persecuted. Why? Because people think that they are mightier than God. False prophets telling people what they want to hear, tickling their ears. People want to feel good, they do not want the conviction of sin. A lot have a form of religion but they are not saved. We that are Christians should not sleep or be lazy but endure, keep going, pray, work for Christ. We should know His promises and have the faith and strength to trust in Him to keep those promises. The life that we live can not be against God, our witness matters and can't be false. The race, body will not last forever, it will soon be over. Don't be afraid of your business, job, family or health. God is watching over us and He will protect. If you say you've never denied God, if you haven't followed Gods Word then you've denied Him. Opinions simply do not matter, if it goes against Gods Word, then it's wrong.
Preached by Matthew Adams on April 19, 2015 (Sunday Morning).
A Bright Future
Revelation 19:1-9 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
It seems that with every turn of the world today that Christians are persecuted worse and worse. If we are saved we shall open our eyes after death and be in a place that will have no sadness, grief, tears, pain or death. We sometimes get stuck in today's sorrow and depression but hold tight till the end. Our bodies are currently sinful and we struggle with it on a daily basis here on earth. In heaven our bodies are made holy and then are worthy to enter into His throne room. Rev 22:1-21 God sent His angel to tell us what to expect in Heaven. Make sure that you're saved because there will be no second chances after Jesus comes back to get saved, it will be too late. Don't let the worlds sins get you down. Just keep your eyes on Jesus and what is in store for us that's saved. Stop worrying about what the world is doing, just do what God has told you to do. Serve the one that has control over life and death. Being a Christian should be a happy life. God gives us blessings that we don't even deserve. Be happy for those blessings.
Preached by Matthew Adams on November 5, 2014 (Wednesday).
Get Over It!
1 John 2:7-11 (Part of the Does He Abide Within? series).
We are to love with all of our heart. It's easier said than done at times. Love is an action. John 13:24 It's difficult to love everyone. 1 John 4:10 The challenge is to love those that are unlovable. The greatest example of love was when God gave His only son for our sin sacrifice. If you're born again, the love of God lives inside you. Christ loved us when we were sinners and so should we with others. The love of God goes beyond our normal way of thinking. Think about how you love your enemy. Would you want God to love you that way? If you've lived any length of time, you've had your love broken by someone. God loves ALL sinners, even the ones that hate you. If you can't love your enemy, you need to make sure that Gods love is truly in you. The flesh says, revenge is mine, but a Christian can't live that way. 1 Cor 13:4-8
Preached by Tommy Boring on September 14, 2014 (Sunday Morning).
Made In The Shade
Psalm 121:5-8 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
God is good regardless. 2 Timothy 1:12; Jude 1:24; 1 Peter 4:19; Philippians 4:7 Do you believe that you can keep yourself? God keeps you in His hand and protects you. Everything that you have committed unto God it is His forever. Shade comes from covering, shade is comfort. As God is our shade He is our protection. Have you ever thought about what God has done for you? Have you ever thought about what evil doesn't touch you because of His protection? Romans 8:35-39 There has never been a time when God left us alone.
Preached by Tommy Boring on January 19, 2014 (Sunday Evening).
Give The Devil A Black Eye
2 Corinthians 2:8-11 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
If you want to stand for God be prepared for the enemy to attack. If you are saved, nothing can take that away from you. Keep your head up because you've got someone on your side that controls everything around you. The devil will raise up strife against you and others. Christians shouldn't be ignorant of what satan can do because God has told us to put on His FULL armor. If you have troubles with something and you don't know what to do about it, read your bible and ask God. There are three things that John examined that the devil uses against us. The list of our flesh is one of the things that satan uses against us. Satan is looking for the weak spot of your fleshly nature. The second thing that satan uses is the lust of the eyes. The third thing is the pride of life. The devil is not all knowing and he also can't be everywhere. He does however have many demons that he commands. The devil used those same three things against Jesus. The lust of the flesh was Jesus' hunger. Satan is nothing but a liar and if you are saved, he can not touch you. Satan causes worry, it is a component of fear produced by doubt.
Preached by Tommy Boring on September 8, 2013 (Sunday Morning).
