The Call To Prayer; Brush Your Teeth
Jeremiah 33:1-3 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Often times we are better prayers when trouble comes around. Why does God have to command us to pray? Because left to our own demise we would never talk to Him. If we’re honest we would admit that if God didn’t command us to pray then we wouldn’t. Have you ever forgotten to eat, sleep, go to work, bathe, brush your teeth? However, how many of us have given that excuse when it comes to prayer, “I forgot to pray”. So why does He command us, because we would surely forget. There are never an excuse when it comes to talking/praying to God. Do you realize that we entertain ourselves instead of praying to God? What if God removed the things that kept us from praying? How many times a day does the flesh win over prayer? Do we honestly think that God has no idea what our lives consist of? He knows we have jobs, families, etc, but do no be deceived, He also knows when we make an excuse to not pray. Remember when our parents constantly told us to brush our teeth? Hopefully at some point it became a habit, a lifestyle. Just the same should prayer become in our lives for the rest of our lives. It’s not up to leaders within the church to be the only ones that pray. When you’ve been a command what are we to do? Obey! When we live a life without prayer we are living in a mess. Have you ever prayed and felt as if God didn’t answer you? This is because you’re living in sin. Three points of why prayers didn’t go anywhere. The first thing is sin. The only thing God is listening for if you’re living in sin is, “forgive me God”. He will not bless over disobedience. The second reason is that it’s not His will. When we pray and ask things that are not within His will then God will not answer us. Just because we want something doesn’t mean that we get it. The third is unbelief. We should pray and believe that He is God. If we doubt that He can’t do it or is not God over all then He will not hear from us. There should be times in our life when it because intimate between us and God. Nothing else during that time should matter.

Bloom Where You're Planted
2 Kings 5:1-14 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
A lot of times people live in disappointment because they live a life of unbiblical nature. How many are truly faithful to God in the really tough times? Everything around you will change but God never changes. There is no reason to why we should be depressed all of the time, it's unbiblical. How many times to we put on the bullseye and just ask for the bad stuff to just hit us? We should choose to believe God no matter the circumstances. We should rejoice in the Lord ALWAYS. If you're walking around and state that you're suffering for Christ, then you're living a lie. We as a Christian have a responsibility to bring hope to the lost. The maid was a slave that was taken away from her family but she decided to bloom where she was planted. She had no control over her circumstances. You must decide if you're gonna be a victim or a victor. Greater is He that is in me than that who is in the world. You know you can't uncrack an egg or put the water back under the bridge. Did you know that NOT believing God is a sin? You realize that when one makes a statement of belief that, that in itself will cause one to welcome conflict. Do you pick and choose where you make your belief known? Folks are desperate for hope in this day in time. At what point in your life did attending church become hard?

Being A Martha
Acts 27:20-25 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
The children of God have something to be joyful about. There are some things that we should just let go of. Stuff can bring one down and press down their joy. First and foremost one must be saved in order to have the joy that surpasses all understanding. Have you ever received that phone call in the middle of the night that just takes your breath away? All of us are or will go thru a tough time where we feel as if we can't get over it. All humans if left alone naturally will become depressed. It's a part of our nature. A lot of people want to talk and share the bad news. Don't we all make bad choices? A lot of times it's by human error but there are times that it's done knowingly. As we all know, we reap what we sow. There are things that are gonna hit you when you're unprepared. If your fear is death, God has already dealt with that and there's plenty of scripture to back that up. We've been taught that we should blame something for bad things happening. But God has said that even when they happen to be of good cheer. Just because bad things happen doesn't mean it was because of something bad. God takes ALL things and makes them ALL good for His believers. The truth is that we as humans will not be healed of everything or get thru every hard thing. The truth is that we will all die so something is going to take us all out. The difference is that the saved have someone to depend on. If you're a child of God rest assure He does not make a mistake. There are many saved people that could tell you their story of being low and down and thinking that all hope was lost. Then they have their "but God" moment when He comes and saves the day. So be of good cheer because God is with you.

Stopping The Voices
Psalm 40:1-4 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
David endured physical afflictions and he often prayed about them. Also, he prayed for his enemies. Just as he, discouragement affects us all and it all begins in our minds.

God can hear you as long as you have repented and hold no inequity in our hearts. If God granted every prayer we asked Him instantly then He would surely be our spare tire. But God makes us wait thru patience.

Our mind is liken to a horrible pit full of never ending noise. We can not stop it no matter what we do and try. Always thinking, always listening, always wondering and doubting. The miry clay being depression that our mind will usually begin to think about if we don't put our minds at ease thru Christ. People today are screaming to be rescued from their own minds.

The clearest your mind will ever be is when you allow God to work in your mind. Prayer can bring clarity and remove the doubt in our minds. Not only will God clear your mind and ease it but He will also place you on something solid that you DO know.

How many have things are rolling around in your mind that you can't get rid of? A grudge against someone? Worried about a sickness? Stressed about a lived one?

For a child of God we are not a victim but a victor! We choose everyday which one you want to be.

There is Despair When There is No Success
1 Kings 19:1-18 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Elijah prayed for rain and within hours it was raining but shortly after during his miracle the enemy came to him. The goal was not about rain, it was about men changing their hearts towards God. When the enemy came to Elijah he ran off away from the enemy. If a man like Elijah could be caught in a snare all the while in Gods miracles, how could we do it? Have you ever been there in great despair? Have you ever prayed, studied, worked and fasted but nothing happened? We can't make someone get saved, change them or make certain things happen by our doings. During Elijah's despair there was no body around to help him in his time of need. No one was their to help him see that God was still there when the enemy was punching him in the gut. In your work place, if you don't perform your job then there is no paycheck. But in God work, He already knows your work and your payout isn't truly based on your work. Think about when the preachers preach and the response is great from the congregation. But thinking about the same thing and on Sunday nights folks nap during the service. Have you as a church member ever thought about cancelling a church service because no one is there in attendance? Nothing gets done when we wallow in our disappointments. Have you ever known God not to be with you? Gods people will end up in despair at some point in their Christian walk but they always end up at Gods feet. God will pick them up and put them back on their journey each and every time. So when you get disappointed, you'll sit down, backslide.
