The Call To Prayer; Having A Blank Check
Jeremiah 33:3 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Now if God is going to command us to pray then He will answer us. He will do His part. We need to be reminded by God. How do we know that God will answer our prayer? One, because He said He would. Now we like to pick and choose what we want from the Bible. But the Bible plainly states that He answers prayer. Number two, the nature of God, He is love. Now consider the nature of your prayer. When we meet certain conditions and God is love and mercy, would He not answer us? Now if God heard your prayer when you were a sinner asking for salvation, how much more would He hear you if your one of His, saved? Can God fail? Can God lie? Third, thinking about the times that He’s already answered the prayers. He has proven Himself faithful over and over time and again. Now God doesn’t go against His will. Everything that He answers it’s always for our better good. Now the answers may not be what we think it should have been. At times He may want us to wait some and grow patience. God is saying that anything is possible but it’s not our job to fill in the blank check. We must be careful with what we ask God. Don’t limit God on what we ask. He goes far and above our understandings so we shouldn’t limit Him. Romans 8:28; if you’re born again then all things work towards you in the good. Now it may not look good at the time but we don’t know what’s best, only God does. God also does things that we can’t comprehend. At this moment our country seems to be falling apart at its seams. How many of us know what to do, how to fix it? Only God knows how to turn it around, we don’t. God is all knowing and always goes further than what we’ve asked. Prayer produces truth. Truth comes thru prayer. How many times have you read your bible and not gotten anything out of it? Try praying before you dig into His word and ask Him to feed you. True prayer grows us spiritually deeper to God. Jesus prayed all night on the mount because He needed to pick twelve disciples. Prayer delivers deliverance. Great deliverance often requires great prayer. Prayer also causes great service. We have got to pray in order to know what we need to do. It’s not the preachers job to bare your burden. He is more than happy to help pray for something but it’s your job as well. To be a great servant requires frequent prayer. If you’re born again then this means that you prayed for Him to save you. We must commit ourselves to prayer. Romans 8:32

Faith Like Peter
(Part of the Revival 2018 series).

There's a lot of people today that are a saved and in their way to Heaven but God is wanting you to change. The church has become satisfied with their salvation. God has a plan for each and every person. We all need to be broken by God because He is wanting to put you back together in the way He wants you to be. Just as Peter people come to church and witness from afar and never get close to God. Does the Word of God have authority in your life? You've got to apply the Word of God to your life.

A fountain can not bring forth sweet and bitter water at the same time. If your language is of the world, swearing and cussing then you've allowed the world into your heart. You're teaching the world Jesus is nothing to you. Just as the rudder on a massive ship is small but turn the entire ship, our tongue is small but can destroy your witness for God. The Word of God is quick and powerful! God knows your heart better than you do and He knows just how to convict you of your disgusting sin.

Have you ever done something that you know you shouldn't have done? Have you ever denied your savior? When God chastises us it hurts but it also hurts Him when we sin and when He has to chastise us for He loves us and wants us to do better. Just as a loving parent must chastise their children. Thank God for second chances. God could call you home after one time of a sinful act but He loves us and gives second chances.

How hard is it to go out into your community and invite your neighbors? Do you why some churches are dark and cold? Cause their members are not bringing the light with them.

There will be times that God will allow to come on us to simply change us. Sometimes God will allow you to struggle with it until you get to the point till you can't take it anymore and surrender to Him. Just as a butterfly is formed, there is a process to it. What once was a ugly worm will began to transform into a beautiful colorful butterfly. If you've been saved then you've been transformed by God to a beautiful being of Gods love.

When the going gets tough do you just give up? That's like reaching up and slapping God in the face saying you don't need it. Gods got something for you and it will help you. Don't sit and think that you need to wait for your turn. God wants to change you right now.

Remember Who've We Got
Psalm 42:1-5 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
As a Christian we will have to walk thru some rough patches. No matter the roughness, we should always praise God. Do you live in a place where all you've got is tears? Tears that cry out where God is? When your life in in good shape you never doubt where God is at. But when the times get hard we often doubt that God is even around. When you're down and out, don't just sit down, get up and get to church. God speaks more than Sunday mornings. What if what you needed was preached on Sunday night and you decided not to show up?

Verse 5: Disquieted means to be worried. Are you worried about something in your life, your work, health? We should put our hope in God. If God is supporting us then what could knock us out of His hands?

Christians have God on their side. Never forget that God is for us and is the God of ALL control, Gen 1:5. God stepped out on nothing and made something and is in control of it all. Ps 24:1-2, everything is Gods, there is nothing that's not. Ps 136:1-9, mercy is not getting what do deserve. God has control over the day and He controls the night. He is in full control.

He is the God of safety, Gen 7:17-18. God said to come into the Ark not go into because He was in the Ark providing safety. Ps 143:9-10, when we think of enemies we often think about others that do not like us. But our biggest enemy is within our head, our mind. It tells us things that are not true and causes us to doubt. Prov 18:10, just the name of Jesus is a safety. Just think, if just His name is a strong tower, what is His person? The prodigal son once he realized and came to his senses, dropped what he was doing and ran back home to his father. His father seen him coming from afar and ran to his son. It didn't matter what his son smelled like, looked like or what he had done. The father still loved his son.

He's the God that's a way maker, Ex 14. When all you've got is a wall of doubt in front of you, God is a way maker. Just let go of it and let God deal with it. Did you know that the wall in front of you might be for someone else's life? Once God brings you thru it, tell others where you came from.

1 John 3:1, God is the god of love. It's an honor to be a child of Him. Christians know whom they belong to and we always go back to God for help. Did you know that you're not an inconvenience to God? Rom 5:8, God didn't just say He loves you, He showed it and proved it by sending His ONLY son to die for our sins. Jer 31:3

Ps 73:25-26, we must remember whom we have. If we are ever going to be overcomes then we have got to start living like we don't have God. Who do you have? Do you know if you've got a relationship with God?

The Emblem of Deliverance and the Provider
Exodus 17:8-16 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Shepherds usually had a staff, a stick. Exodus 3:4 tells a story of Moses experiencing a bush that was on fire but wasn't consumed by it. The burning bush being God told Moses to take his shoes off because he was on holy ground. Just today, we should condition ourselves for the presence of God.

Thinking about the staff of Moses, God used this staff as a proof. Exodus 4 explains that this staff was the rod of God. This rod was powerful tool of God that was used as the beginning of the plaques, turned into a snake that ate the magicians tricks. The rod of God was also used to split the Red Sea for the Israelites to cross on dry ground. It was also used to close the Red Sea. It was used to strike a rock for water to burst forth in order to water the Israelites cattle and themselves. The rod of God was held up above Moses' head and as long as it was, the Israelites people were able to prevail against the army of Amalek.

Now we often think we ourselves can do anything. The truth is that we can't do anything of ourselves. The rod was a symbol of the future to come, Jesus Christ. We can't do anything without Jesus Christ. The rod, just a Christ, is used as deliverance in any time of need. We have an emblem that we can hold high which is the cross. The reason one goes to Hell is because they reject Christ as Gods only son and Him being crucified and raised again for our sins.

The rod was also a provider as it provided safety and water. Safety from Pharos and the Amalek armies. Provider of the water when the rock was struck. In our arrogance we often think we can provide and to give safety. When the bills are due and they become paid. When the cupboard is barren but the food comes in. Satan is a coward and always strikes from the back. When he begins to attack Jesus comes from the front and chases the enemy away. Just in today's time we should help out each other and lift them up, hold the up in order to fight against the devil. We should also lift Jesus Christ up for all to see. The purpose of the church is to lift up Jesus Christ and if we can do that the job will get done.

How To Be Happy
Psalm 1:1-6 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
What's going on in our world right now? Just a few years ago folks loved to worship God and couldn't wait to worship God and depending on God for everything. The devil has come to steal, kill and destroy. For all of us there is two parts to us, a flesh and a spiritual. Blessed is the man that doesn't walk with the world. Satan doesn't want us to tell anyone about the goodness of God or invite folks or even yourself to church. So how can a man or woman be happy? There is only one thing that can make one happy. Which would you rather have, something that's temporary or something that's eternal?
  • To truly be happy you must be born again. You must personally know Jesus Christ.
  • A prayer life is the next thing to have happiness. If you have a prayer life you can stay close to God.
  • Stay in your bible, make a set time to read His word. It will help you stand when you can't stand on your own.
  • You must also be a committed Christian. You should be committed to God, your church membership and your fellow Christian brothers and sisters.
  • One should also be assured in Jesus Christ and His word. The time is fast approaching to His second coming. The signs are right in front of us and are taking place every second, everyday.
  • We must believe the Word. Just because the pastor says it doesn't mean it's the gospel. The pastor is just as human s the next and we should know the bible and its life and not the pastors or anyone else's.
