1 Thessalonians 5:12-28 (Part of the The Need For Christian Duties series).
|In order to perform the Christian duties, one must be sanctified. Many will think they are doing His will but in their end, God will tell them that He never knew them.
Sanctified means, set apart. More importantly, separated from evil. The question is not about what's on the inside for if you've been saved, God dwells within. The truth is, is that the outside is flesh and it fails daily will always fail until it's made into a heavenly body.
2 Cor 6:17, a Christian should be different than the world. Heb 10:14, for a Christian the inside (soul) is what's made new, the outside remains the same. The outward is a constant battle to bring under subjection. 2 Tim 1:12, we as Christians can not keep our salvation because it wasn't us that saved us. Once we are saved, we are always saved. We as humans have plaques that trouble the flesh. Lusts of the flesh cause us as humans to fall short of His perfectness. However, we must repent of our sins when the sins are realized and pointed out by God. God has never made a mistake therefore when He saved you, it wasn't a mistake and He will not take it back. Gods word has not changed and will not change.
We should remove ourselves from the worldly things. Most don't like to step away because it sets the up to be ridiculed. How is anyone to know that a Christian is a Christian if they do the same things as a lost person? There's a lot of Christians that want to get better. The reason is because they want to bless God, He's worth it! But, serving God brings forth works and that's what the world will see. Now salvation is NOT about works, works is the result of salvation.
Titus 3:8, sanctification and works are linked because you can't have works from God until you've been sanctified. We as Christian should follow, obey and serve Him because we are in a great debt because God has paid for our sins. Please stop and make sure you're not going along with the crowd. Did you know that someone is ALWAYS watching you? Heb 10:24, you won't find a lot of talk about works in a Baptist church because it's easily confused for non believers. Just as its been said, works are the result of salvation. Works without salvation is just work and will not be recognized by Christ as works for Him in the end. Christians can't do the work of God on their own. In order to make Holy fruit, it has to start with something Holy. Are you saved? One can't move to the next step unless they've been saved. Check your heart, have you been saved?

Where is Your Faith? (Part 1)
Hebrews 11:6 (Part of the Faith series).
How many have asked for more faith? Hebrews 11:24-29 Everyone has a little bit of faith. Even atheism is a belief in itself. There are things that you can have faith in that will not gain you anything so there is a right and wrong faith. Faith brings commitment. God see the things that are most impossible and uses it for His glory. Where is your commitment with and for God? Resolve is part of Faith. You can commit to something but never fulfill the commitment. Faith will give you the backbone to stand firm. Knowing that what God has out ways what the world offers, having Hope in that. Hope is what gives you confidence in your faith. Anyone can believe in a statue but it can't help. Faith will give you great courage. Isn't it fear that sidetracks us away from God? Faith produces obedience. Faith will also give you confidence.

The Business of Praise (Part 1)
Psalm 92:1-3 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Man can not work for seven days. If you try to work seven days for very long you will find yourself drained. Many people have their own views of which day is the sabbath but we recognize the first day, Sunday as the sabbath. We should lift of our voices to give thanks unto The Lord, but we should also sing it. How many times do you sit back and let someone else give praises? People come to church for many different reasons. It's time we pay back the debtor for what He did! Worship is contagious. Some has taken the day of rest to the extreme, you've fallen asleep on God. All earths creation has no problem with worshipping and praising God. The birds, rocks and even the fish give praise but we as humans have a problem with doing that. If you're walking around mad at someone, you can't praise God! There is a common component in praising God, that is God. Without God, nothing can be done. Everyone is looking for the "good thing". Praising God is a good thing. People should see YOU praise God. When the end of your day comes you can always think back and be thankful for something. Your heart never misses a beat during the night as you sleep, be thankful. Some things to praise God for. Mercy, patience, long suffering, kindness, provision, faithfulness, true, never fails, constant, omnipresent, omnipotent, etc. Sometimes just music is praising God. When it comes with the purpose of giving God praise, give Him praise. Col 3:16, Eph 5:19, In your hearts is the common place of praise. What keeps YOU from worship? Are you ashamed? Do you have sin in your heart?

Give It All You've Got
Romans 12:1-5 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
We were born into pride and selfishness. We shouldn't think of ourselves too highly. Thinking of ourselves greater than another begins segregation. Pride will destroy everything. Our bodies are made up of millions and millions of different bodies. If one of those members are taken away, the rest of the body will suffer. God will only hold you accountable for what He called you to do. If you are saved, God has called you to do something, start doing it. We are all this together. We are all important to God. When one suffers, we all suffer. When one rejoices, we all rejoice.
