Rules of Gift Giving
2 Corinthians 9:6-8 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
The gift of God is simply, John 3:16. He gave the unspeakable gift. Beginning from the last, everything comes from God. Not one person has anything unless it comes thru God first. We as humans are selfish creatures by nature. God wants to give you His undeserved love. Many holidays come and go and they revolve around giving, however we should be a giver everyday. If you're judging the gift by its size then you've missed the point. One doesn't give because of self, one gives because they are loved. We've been given the greatest gift, love, that it should cause one to give it back.

There should be a time when you've found yourself in want. Bills to pay, missing food on the table or even gas to fuel the car. During that time, God might come to you and ask you to give to someone else. Now money is not something that can be controlled and many of billionaires worry about it till they die.

One point to be a good giver is to give abundantly and not sparingly. Just as sowing seeds, one doesn't plant one seed expecting hundreds of plants.

Point two, give purposely. One should purpose in their heart to love God and to pray for the need or gift. God knows the need and therefore we should obey what He tells us to give.

The third point is to give freely. This doesn't mean to smile while you gift it. Without a grudge or necessity. If it bothers you to give then you're giving wrongly.

If how you give is based on how you feel at the moment then the devil will talk you out if it every time. God tries to teach His lesson on giving by your obedience. When God tells you to give, give without question. No matter how much one gives, one can NEVER out-give Gods giving. We give because if we sow it, we will reap it as long as it's done by the above three points. The second reason is because God loves a cheerful giver. Wouldn't we all want to please God? Now when the offering was being taken, God is always watching. He knows what's in your pocket, He knows what's in your heart and He knows what He told you. It's not about how much is put it but why it was put in. Our church does not tell you how much to give because an amount is not biblical in today's time. The Old Testament explain a tenth but the New Testament explains that it's based on what God tells you to give and what you're willing to give. If you're worried about giving then you're worried about the wrong thing. 2 Cor explains that always God will take care of all needs.

The Revealed Truth
Matthew 2:1-12 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
When Jesus was born, there wasn't a bunch of people around. There was no kings, no wise men, no princes or princesses. Still to this day He's obscured to so many. The first that came to see Jesus was the shepherds, the least of people. Then during the next 30 years Jesus went without being known. Some knew Him but most did not. Now even today, most do not know Him. But the wisemen that came months later presented to Him gifts. The truth was revealed to them by God thru the stars. Only God could make a star. We also have received the truth from God through His Word, the bible. God shows everyone His truth at some point but some turn it away. The second thing that the wisemen did was to believe. Just as their journey began, yours will begin in faith. Eph 2:8 How many have heard the truth and rejected it? Many want to celebrate Christmas but will not celebrate Jesus' birth and death. Most live as if God is a butler, a human that is to be served only when needed. The wisemen also worshipped Jesus. Those that truly surrendered to Jesus, they will worship Him. How many of you have surrendered everything unto God? Most can talk it, but they haven't done. One MUST worship God in Spirit AND in Truth.

It's Just Stories
Matthew 13:10-17 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
To some they see the bible as just stories. It means absolutely nothing unless you know Jesus Christ as your personal savior. It's been given to all of us to know the mysteries of God but sin has hidden it from our heart. People that are saved, they hear God and usually move towards the Light, closer to God. For those that turn away from God they go further away and into darkness to the point that they will never hear Him again. Satan does NOT want you to be saved or close to God. Satan will tell you all kinds of things to keep you away from being saved. It's Gods will that one die lost and on their way to hell. Those that have rejected Gods calling repeatedly will become calloused to the Word of God. The only condition that God set on your salvation is that you believe only Him. One can't constantly reject Jesus Christ and there not be consequences to it. Matthew 11:25

Believing The Report
Isaiah 53:1 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Christmas is about believing. Not in Santa, snowmen or the season. If you leave Christ out of the season then you only have a "mas" or gathering. Do you believe that Christ is the reason for the season? Why do people hear it and know it but they do not believe it? You may say you believe but your everyday actions say otherwise. Some will go though the entire Christmas season and not acknowledge Christ.
