An Abundance of Mercy (Psalm 89:1-7)

Tommy BoringTommy Boring, August 10, 2014
Part of the Miscellaneous series, preached at a Sunday Evening service

Mercy is kind and gentle treatment to one that has no right to it. Matthew 5:45 God has mercy for us all. People live in such a rebellious nature towards God and yet God still causes the sun to rise. We have no right to the air we breathe. One doesn't have to be saved to experience the mercy of God. Romans 5:8 God loves those that do not love Him. Gods mercies is for His family. Justice is death but mercy saves. People can't figure out if God is worth serving. People are either for Him today but going against God the next. But God has mercy for those for ALL of us. Matthew 9:27 God is merciful to individuals. Matthew 15:22 God has mercy on those that ask for mercy. Titus 3:3-5 Where would we be if it wasn't for Gods mercies? Hebrews 4:16 All that He asks, is for you to come and ask.

Psalm 89:1-7

1I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations. 2For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens. 3I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant, 4Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah. 5And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints. 6For who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD? 7God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.
