Scripture: Exodus 17:8-16

Our greatest battle is not against the devil but against our own flesh.

Romans 8
The flesh can’t be saved or made holy.
Just as soon as you wake up, your flesh begins its battle with our soul. The only thing that will give a person victory over the flesh is Jesus. We must equip ourselves for the battle that rages. The war can’t be fought on the same ground as the flesh. It must be won in prayer with Jesus. As long as Moses’ hands were up they won, but once they began to fall, they began to lose.

Romans 7:18-25

Galatians 5:17
The flesh does the opposite of what the Spirit does. There is never a time when your flesh is not with you.

Exodus 17:14
Once the battle is won against the flesh God will separate the flesh from the Spirit leaving no more remembrance of it. The saved will be free from the ball and chain of sin at death. The only way for a person to get into Heaven is that God changes it into a glorified body.

Exodus 17:16
God will always fight for you (the saved). He will always fight against the flesh from generation to generation. He will never compromise with the flesh. He is always on the hill helping us fight this battle against the flesh. This also means that we will always be in battle against the flesh until the day of death occurs. The flesh will not stop and it will not give up. The only hope we have is God Himself helping us.
