Scripture: Hebrews 11:24-30

Six fruits of faith.

In the first part, we covered 2 of the six fruits of faith, commitment, and resolve.

Hope is born.
Faith is the product of being changed by God and it produces hope. If one is not saved then they have no idea what this is. One can’t have hope without faith. A falsely accused prisoner may have hope in their heart that they may get out. While a guilty prisoner will not have that hope because they are guilty. A person that believes in evolution then they have no hope because they do not believe in God. It was by pure accident that we are here today. No hope. God gives us hope. Standing at a graveside knowing that the person that died had no testimony of ever being saved. We know that they likely had no hope in God and are likely in Hell. The hope in a person’s salvation hasn’t played out 100% because we are not dead. At death, a Christian’s hope will be made full. Hebrews 11:1; the lost of this world need to be saved in order to obtain this hope. There may be obstacles in your life but God can remove those things in order for you to do His will. Currently, suicide is at an all-time high because the world has convinced people that there is no hope because God has been removed.
A Christian has hope in the afterlife but those are things we can’t see. Looking at our current world most will say that there is no hope. If one doesn’t believe in God then they will believe there is no hope in our current situation. Think about the countries of the Bible that clearly show no hope of being saved. Time and time again the people or a single person would pray to God to have mercy on them and God heard from them. We look at people in our own lives and think there is no hope for them. What you’re saying is that you don’t believe in God that has all the control and love they need. Moses had hope in God. He looked at the treasures that were in store for him from the Pharaoh yet he chose to have hope in God and not the worldly treasures. The woman with the issue of blood. She had run out of hope. Her hope was in the money and the doctors and she had run out of both. She was hopeless and she had nothing to live for. It wasn’t until she heard about Jesus that her hope began to change. She first had to believe that she could be healed, she then had to work towards it. Zacchaeus was an outcast, no one liked him. Then one day he heard that Jesus was passing through. Hope is a powerful thing and it only takes a little bit. He ran out and up a tree just so he could see Jesus. His hope in Jesus made him whole.

Courage
A plague that is in our churches today is the lack of courage. The more you hear and read the true Word of God preached the more courage you will have. Young David was just a typical Shepard boy of the time. He had heard about a giant that made fun of his God. He had courage in God through the two tests of the lion and the bear. He didn’t have a gun like we would today. he grabbed the lion by the beard and slain him. He believed in God so much that he was willing to put his own life on the line for Him. Saul tried to help him by giving him armor but David didn’t have faith in them. He took what he knew and slew that giant in God’s name.
One can’t find courage in a box. The devil will want you to think that you can’t do anything. But God produces courage that the devil can’t touch. Often times we are more scared of the battle than we are the enemy.
