A Lying Sinner (1 John 1:8-10)

Tommy BoringTommy Boring, February 17, 2013
Part of the Miscellaneous series, preached at a Sunday Evening service

Would you go to a doctor and have chemo if there was no need for it? You can say it enough to the point you'll start to believe it. Religion will not and can not save you. Most compare themselves to others sins and feel that theirs is not as bad as others. God knows already that we are ALL sinners. If sin doesn't bother you than you've become self righteous. If you say you're not a sinner or have not sinned, you've just called God a liar. If you are hearers only than you've deceived yourself. If you can state that you have not sinned, then you're lost.

1 John 1:8-10

8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. (KJV)
