Scripture: Luke 24:29-49

God has always been able to speak. Have you ever heard His voice?

In our lifetime there will be people that will come into our lives where their voice comforts us. Their voice is just something that means a lot to us. But, when the voice of God is heard you’ll know it.

Has Power
Genesis Chapter 1. The creation of everything that we know and see was made with just His voice. In Revelation 22 we also see His voice to come that will destroy everything we know. The voice of power is God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, one can’t separate the three. God’s voice split the Red Sea down to dry ground. When the disciples were in a boat a strong storm began to brew. Jesus stepped out on the bow of the boat and simply told the storm to be still. God told Moses to strike a rock for water and there was water. The story of Jonah is a miracle in itself. God prepared a fish for Jonah to live in for 3 days. Whales don’t eat people yet here this fish is just waiting on Jonah beside this boat. Then 3 days later God told this fish to go up to the shore and spit him back up. Another time Jesus told Peter to throw a hook in, no bait, and the first fish that he was to catch he was to open the fish’s mouth and take the coin to pay tribute. Far fetched? You bet! God doesn’t care about how we think that our prayers are just so far-fetched. Another time they are fishing in a boat, and Jesus asked them if they had caught anything. They answered they had fished all night and caught nothing. Jesus told them to cast their net on the other side of the boat. They did and almost swallowed the boat they caught so many fish.

Has Direction
When God speaks there is direction in His voice. It’s sure and you’ll know which way to go. Moses and the burning bush. The bush spoke (God), and told Moses to tell Pharaoh to let His people go. Purpose and direction he spoke. God spoke to Joshua and told Him that he had sin in his camp. Purpose and direction. With Elisha God sent a strong wind that was destructive yet God wasn’t in it. God spoke to Elisha to go back into the cave and His still, small voice spoke to him. Salvation, If you’re saved then you’ve heard the voice of God. He comes to each one of us differently but it’s His voice that convicts. He told you how to be saved at that time.

Has Peace
John 14:7; He left us His peace. Mark 1:49; to the creation He gave peace. Legend, and man with no peace, Jesus gave him peace. Mark 5; the woman with an issue of blood was given peace and was also healed. Ever had a day where it’s just going crazy and the voice of God just gives you a peace that’s unexplainable? Luke 24:32, the scripture is His voice. The scripture should be honored and lifted up.

Is Triumph
1 Thes 16; this time when He speaks everything that we have ever known will change in the twinkling of an eye.
Rev 21:23;
Throughout the entire bible, His voice has shown its power, direction, purpose, peace, and triumph.
