Scripture: 2 Samuel 12:13

Christians walk around with a frown on their face.

God gave David a bear and a lion to kill. Then He provided a giant for him to kill. He had great joy during those times and even spoke about it at times. Then there came a time when David tarried. He basically sat down on God and stopped working for Him. All of a sudden, a beautiful woman was sent his way by the devil. David fell for the devil’s plan and laid with Bathsheba, she became pregnant and had his child. Now, David began to look around at others and judge them instead of himself. The sins in our lives are caused mostly by the lust of the flesh. The scripture is clear about sin and how to handle it. If your eye offends you pluck it out, hand offend you, cut it off, etc. It’s not talking about mutilation but about how serious sin is. If your eyes cause you to lust at something, remove the sin so you don’t look at it. David then went as far as to get Bathsheba’s husband drunk to try and cover up his own sin.

Forgiveness
Psalm 51:1-12
We read how God parted the Red Sea and the children of Israel walked across the dry ground. The joy that they must have had that God had saved them. However, there was still sin in their camp.
David repented in this prayer and made things right with God.

How is your joy with your salvation?
