|1 Thessalonians 5:21 (Part of the The Need For Christian Duties series).|
|No matter who is doing the teaching or preaching we should always know if it's the truth or not. There are many that for many years claim to be Christian but don't even know what the bible says. How can you check what is being taught if you don't know what the truth is? The only source of truth is the Word of God. 1 John 4:1, there are a lot of wolves in sheep clothing. We should not be live every spirit because not all spirits are good. A preacher should always be reading and have the bible with them at all times. Opinions are not truth but of personal thoughts. Preachers can lead you wrong. They can be teaching you something that they don't fully know themselves. It's not that all would intentionally mislead or misguide but simply not know and teach on assumptions. If you don't go to Sunday School then you need to start. The key word there is school. Our church is in session for about an hour learning more about Gods Word every Sunday. We should prove the preaching and to prove all things. We should know the difference between good and evil. Do you believe there is a devil? A car mass does one thing and one thing only, it points to true north. Just as the compass, the scripture points to the truth. We are pretty smart at most times and we know when we are in the middle of something that's not right. How do they know what is a counterfeit bill, they study the real. Not only should we prove what is good but we are to hold to those truths. It's a continuous process of sowing and reaping good things. The preacher can't plant the good stuff for you. He plants his own and you plant your own. In order to hold fast to the good it takes discipline. A lot of people don't like discipline because it's usually painful. Heb 10:23, you've got to make a choice and commit. Psa 119:33-34, once you've proven all things to the good then you should stick to the good, Phil 4:8.|

|1 Thessalonians 5:20 (Part of the The Need For Christian Duties series).|
|In this scripture prophesying means, preaching. Despise: To dislike Have you ever sat under some preaching and thought, well that's not for me? We should never think that we are over the preached word. There is always something in a sermon that is for you. Preaching is important, the Word of God is very important to our souls. When you walk into our building the first thing one sees is the elevated pulpit. All of the pews are facing the front. All of our attention should be upon the front of the church. We should not honor the one bring the word but the word itself. God is not concerned about the vessel but the obedience it has. The story should never get old. Every time you hear about the cross and its suffering it should be like you've never heard it before and break you once again. Some hear the title of the sermon and mark it off as if they've got it figured out already and do not need it. Don't check out prematurely! No matter whom is preaching the message and whether you like them or not, it's not the deliverers that bless but the Word of God. We must ALL be careful of whom is bringing the Word because that person is only a deliverer. Don't think yourself above the preaching. It pleases God thru the foolishness of preaching. The jumping, yelling, crying, screaming, running, etc. Not only to save souls but to keep them and grow them. We don't know how God is going to bless and feed so we must be very careful NOT to despise.|

|Your Only Hope|
|Psalm 39:6-13 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).|
|Some are in a place today because you made a choice by yourself without Gods guidance. It has brought negative consequences on your life but there is a remedy. We as humans often think we know what's best. That usually gets us into a bad shape. We should fear God as in a second He can bring us into subjection.
Materialistic items will be left behind at death. Your mind, your health and all of your belonging will all be left behind. All of your current endeavors will be in vain at the time of your death. If life is truly vain then what is there to look forward to at death? Put your hope in the Lord! If you're lost this life is as good as it's going to get but, if you're saved then this current life is as bad as it's going to be.
We as humans all have things that mean absolutely nothing at death. We must repent of those material junk items. The Word of God, the bible, was not written about you therefore it's not about you. The bible was written on One and that was Jesus Christ.
God chastises those that are His because He loves them and wants them to do better. God knows exactly how to chastise those that are saved because He knows us inside and out. He knows each and every person and what it'll take to bring one under submission. The saved should at some point know that when God calls one out, stop, listen and obey. The saved should never think that God wouldn't chastise them. God can and will bring you down if you do not repent of the sins in your life. When God chastises it breaks down the pride down to nothing.
Be so heavenly minded so you're no earthly good. We live in a Godless society. Flesh is everywhere! The saved should feel more like a stranger in this life than a welcomed guest.
Stop fighting against God. What you need can be found on your knees thru repentance.

|Stopping The Voices|
|Psalm 40:1-4 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).|
|David endured physical afflictions and he often prayed about them. Also, he prayed for his enemies. Just as he, discouragement affects us all and it all begins in our minds.
God can hear you as long as you have repented and hold no inequity in our hearts. If God granted every prayer we asked Him instantly then He would surely be our spare tire. But God makes us wait thru patience.
Our mind is liken to a horrible pit full of never ending noise. We can not stop it no matter what we do and try. Always thinking, always listening, always wondering and doubting. The miry clay being depression that our mind will usually begin to think about if we don't put our minds at ease thru Christ. People today are screaming to be rescued from their own minds.
The clearest your mind will ever be is when you allow God to work in your mind. Prayer can bring clarity and remove the doubt in our minds. Not only will God clear your mind and ease it but He will also place you on something solid that you DO know.
How many have things are rolling around in your mind that you can't get rid of? A grudge against someone? Worried about a sickness? Stressed about a lived one?
For a child of God we are not a victim but a victor! We choose everyday which one you want to be.

|I Am The Resurrection|
|1 Corinthians 15:19-22 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).|
|A lot of people take into consideration things that simply don't matter. The evening news or anyone else for that matter knows NOT when Jesus will come again.
When one think about miracles then the number one miracle would be one that was raised from the dead. At some point in our lives you're going to hear that someone is dead. We think that death is the final end to life. Jesus has power to raise from the dead. The obstacle that Jesus didn't have was raising from the dead, it was the death itself. Jesus' power brought back at least three people from the dead. If your lost then your dead and stink with sin. When God calls your name, come be saved. 3 common points to the three dead, they were all dead, He called them by name and Jesus had the power to speak to them.
In Jesus' death He told them that He would raise in three days. No one believed Him even the guards. The guards thought that someone Jesus knew would steal His body and flame He lived again. So if Jesus knew He was going to die, why didn't He prepare for His death by getting a tomb? He didn't need it because He wasn't going to stay in it. So did the angel that rolled the stone away let Jesus out? No, the Angel was there to show that He wasn't in the tomb. Even then a few of the disciples still couldn't believe that He had truly risen.
If you're looking for Jesus, He is as close as your belief. You need to run to Jesu as fast as you can. Some of you can hear Him calling your name from the tomb you are in.
1 Thes 4:13-17 The physical body is in the ground at death and will remain there. The soul goes to be with Jesus or In Hell. At the second coming of Christ the physical will be joined with the soul with the saved being joined together first.
