Robert Gibson never imagined he would live to tell his story. Once locked behind the towering walls of the infamous Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary, he believed he would die there. In 1976, he took a man’s life, and by 1982, he was part of a violent uprising that made national headlines—taking guards hostage and using a smuggled firearm to fatally shoot rival inmates in their cells. Brushy was a place of darkness, violence, and despair—but it was there, in the very pit of hopelessness, that Robert encountered the light of Jesus Christ. What began as a life marked by sin and survival became a powerful testimony of grace, mercy, and transformation. Today, Robert shares his incredible journey—from a convicted killer to a redeemed child of God, set free not just from prison walls, but from the chains of sin. His story is one of hard truth, miraculous mercy, and the life-changing power of the Gospel.
