Scripture: Romans 12:1-2

We should be encouraging others in Christ to get closer to God. We need to be better than we’ve ever been. There is room for ME to get closer to God. We need to get up off of our seats Spiritually and admit that we should be getting better at getting closer to God. How many times do we pray for workers and yet we are unwilling to work? Should we not be the ones to go out and tell others the good news of the Savior? Commit yourselves to taking a step towards Christ. We often allow ourselves to squirm away from doing what we ought to be doing for God. Be encouraged that God hasn’t given up on us. Does anybody care that the doors are open on the church house? Does anybody care that we have church services on Sunday nights and Wednesdays? If you are a church member then you’ve made a covenant between the members and more importantly between God and yourself that you would fail not to assemble yourself. God hasn’t broken His covenant between you and Him and He continues to bless you no matter what.

When you stand before the judge of glory what are you going to say? If your priorities are all about yourself, what are you going to say to Him when He asks you why?

The only thing that you can present to God is the inner man, the soul that He purchased at the time of salvation. When He purchased the soul then He owns you and therefore your reasonable service is to yield yourself to your owner, God. There are things that we could be doing yet we don’t. We don’t do them because we don’t want to. If you’ve got a problem with doing something for Him, take it up with Him and not the pastor.

Have you adjusted your life to the world? God, Himself has a completely different view of the world. Is there anything in your life that you feel you have to do every day? You might say you must go to work. You’ll set your alarms and make sure that you’re there and ready to go each day for your employer. Yet, when it comes to the worship of God in His church house you’ll find any excuse to stay away from it.

  • “Mold me and make me, after Thy will, while I am waiting, Yielded and still.” In the garden when Christ prayed He yielded to His father and because the clay for God to do what he wanted. God has a will or a purpose for your life and He wants to take you and mold you into something that Christ get’s the glory.
  • “Search me and try me, Master today! Whiter than snow, Lord, wash me just now, as in Thy presence humbly I bow.” Forgiveness for our sins.
  • “Wounded and weary, help me I pray! Power, all power, surely is Thine! Touch me and heal me, Savior divine.” Healing during our very time of need.
  • “Hold over my being absolute sway! Fill with Thy Spirit till all shall see Christ only, always, living in me.” What sways you today? Whatever wind the enemy blows through over our ship it often blows us off course. We should be asking God to have control over our lives so that the enemy can’t touch us.
