Scripture: Psalm 119:33-40

Beginning in verse 37 we see that the Psalmist is speaking about his flesh. Ecclesiastes 2:9-11.

Solomon we know was made the wisest of all. We know that whatever Solomon wanted he got but, in the end he admits that it was all worthless. In our life nothing has changed. All of the things we see and touch means nothing in the end. We can’t do or have anything that has any value eternally. These things often times pull people away from the truth. God did create the things we see around us but He warns us to not worship the creation but the creator.

How many times have you looked upon something for too long and before you know it lust sets in heart? Hobbies or work is not what is wrong or sinful but if they begin to take over Gods position then they have become a sin. Having a millions of dollars does nothing when you are laying in your casket. What good does it do you when you’re dead? It’s vanity. What’s more important than God?

If there is anything that gets in front of God, cut it off and get rid of it!

A couple of things to invest in, loving others more than ourselves. Standing for God when everything else is against Him. Follow the guidance of 1 Corinthians 3:12-15.
