Think about all of the different voices that were heard in this reading. We see the many men in battle and their voices. Many of the voices that David heard was about the same as the others about a single man to beat the Philistines.

2 Samuel 17:29
David didn’t care that the men were fighting and not gaining any ground. The battle wasn’t going to be won by the strength of men. The men in the battle had nothing but fear. David knew how to call on God and His faithfulness. David had to do this. Imagine if the men in the battle remembered what God had done for them and called out to God. We are in a place as these men are and need to remind ourselves that God is in full control. We must line up with God to see the victory.

Is there not a history?
We have a history of what God has done for His people if they submit themselves to Him. David had a plan and that plan changed quickly when God stepped on the scene. David didn’t make his claim because he had a good idea. God isn’t confused, scared, or worried about what is going to happen. David didn’t care what was going to happen when he came up against the giant. David couldn’t believe that the men in Israel had forgotten where they had come from with God. They were scared and feared for their life. God could have made it go a different way if the men of Israel had called out to God, but it only took one, David.

Be that one!
