Scripture: Ephesians 6:1-4

This is the first commandment directed towards us the first is towards God. It seems that everyone wants to live longer, forever. People anymore are scared to death to die. What better way to live longer than to first become saved and then love and honor your parents.

Fathers are to teach and love their children. If a father loves their children they will teach them what is good and bad. As a father, they have a responsibility to shelter them and feed them. First and foremost they are to teach them about God. Where should a father begin in teaching their children about God? It’s always best to start at the beginning of Genesis.

As a child of God, we have a father. A father that goes beyond any father on earth. He loves no matter what and loves to the uttermost. We as children stay in trouble all the time because we are all humans. Yet, God as the perfect father knows all and is all and loves us through it all. God loves everyone so much that He sent His only son to be as a living sacrifice for everyone’s sin. At one time in biblical time, God was going to send a great plaque. The believers were to take a clean lamb, sacrifice it, and eat it while spreading its blood across the doorposts. This would protect the family within from the death angel. The people called this the Passover for remembrance. The Bible is also left for us as a great remembrance and as a great instruction manual.

Teach your children about Jesus being sent of a virgin birth to be born in a lowly manger. Not only was this a holy birth, something that no one could do but God being a virgin birth, but The King of Kings was born in a manger showing that He came for all regardless of the stature of a person.

Through jealousy, they seemed to destroy what they thought was a man that was going to take over their kingdom. Jesus was smarter than them because He already knew what their plans were. Some “preachers” will tell you to send them money for them to pray for you. Jesus Christ without a price tag prayed for your soul right before He was tortured and was placed on the cross. Jesus didn’t come to do away with the law but to fulfill the law. Don’t be a Judas and betray Jesus with a simple kiss. People have done this and they continue to betray Christ for far less than 30 pieces of silver.
