Because He Is Worth It
Hebrews 13:7 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
A Christian leader is one that leads by example and by respect. Great Christian leaders that have led by examples is Henry Webb. He lived almost 3.5 miles away from the church and would walk to the church house each and every time the doors were open. He walked thru all kinds of elements because God was worth it to him. A faithful member. The sad truth is that today, most have a problem getting out of bed when it's cold outside even though our vehicles are heated as well as the church. People are watching whether you want them to or not.

Henry Webb's obituary: "Henry Webb was born June 29, 1904, and departed this life Dec. 2, 1989, being 84 years, 5 months, and 3 days of age.

Henry professed faith in Christ and joined the New Providence Primitive Baptist Church on November 9, 1969, and was baptized November 16, 1969.

He was a very faithful member of his church and loved it and the people of the church.

He labored in the building of the New Providence Church both in the first building and in the present building, the church was his life as long as he was able to attend."

We should examine ourselves to make sure that what we show to the world is a godly life. God needs leaders in His church. Are you willing to be a leader? Are you able to? You must first be able before you can be a leader.

Is the Proof in the Pudding?
Acts 26:1-30 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
How many times has God brought you to a place where you could share your testimony? A little salt brings out the flavor in food. If you've been saved then you have a personal experience, a testimony. There is power in your testimony but if you let the devil to come in to tear it down, it'll have no power. If you live your life like you're not saved and then decide to share your testimony, the lost will not hear it. Do you live your life if you've got a testimony? Is there action behind your testimony? Do you ever feel like you can't share your testimony? So has your salt lost its savor? Our testimony with God is the most important thing in our lives but we usually don't protect it like it is. If you've damaged your testimony it can be repaired.
Preached by Bruce Whitehead on February 10, 2016 (Wednesday).
Are You Nearsighted Or Farsighted?
Philippians 2:1-4 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
We should love others more than ourselves. 1 Cor 13 We should be seeking after others to love. Just like our children and our spouse, we will sacrifice to get the things they want. If we are sharing the gospel with others, who is? Jesus' actions where nothing more than His love towards us. It's high time that we as children of God to change and love others more than ourselves. We take what Christ did for us for granted. Just as Jesus in the Garden of Gasemity, seeking and loving others is difficult at times. Do you like your church just the way it is? Do it all for love, no other motivation should be at the thought.
Preached by Bruce Whitehead on March 29, 2015 (Sunday Evening).
Changed
Luke 8:26-40 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
When God shows up, there is a change. You can read in Genesis where God began to change the universe as we know it today. Some will think they are changed after thinking they were saved, but if God never saved them, the change will not stick. When God saves you, there is a peace that can't be described given. God doesn't have an age limit on salvation. When you realize that you are lost, there will be a fright come over you. Just because your saved doesn't mean you can't sin. We live in a filthy sinful world and it will rub off on us at times. Your salvation is still there but repentance needs to be made to wash the sin away. Don't let satan fool you about salvation. Don't think that you are saved, KNOW that you are saved. A true change will take place once you are saved. You can't change yourself to salvation, only Christ can grant you salvation. We are ALL born lost. You WILL know that you're saved because a change will take place and you will no longer have the need to be the old person. Don't turn away God away when He knocks.
Preached by Bruce Whitehead on July 7, 2013 (Sunday Morning).
