It's All or Nothing
1 John 2:15-17 (Part of the Does He Abide Within? series).
How many love the world more than you love God. What does it matter if you died and went to hell? The world has a lot to offer. There are those that are trading their testimonies for the things of the world. There are people all over claiming to be Christians but love the world and have never been saved. Think about where you desires are. Do you really love Jesus or would you rather be out doing something else?  If what you want revolves and is all about you, then it's not about God. All of the things that you do in the flesh, doesn't really matter at all. Are you just doing the "church thing"? God wants all of you not just some of you.
Preached by Tommy Boring on September 14, 2014 (Sunday Evening).
A Better Day Cometh
(Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Suffering is just for a little while for Christians, while we are here on earth. This too shall pass. When the going gets tough, stand still. Has God ever failed you? There is a day coming that all sin and suffering will end. Our greatest enemy is not satan or the devil, it's ourselves, the flesh. No one has to be taught how to be greedy, lie, kill or hate. We may pass through a valley down here but there is always a mountain top to come. Don't strive to go home because it hard. God is faithful. We may all suffer a horrible death, suffering before we leave this world. But once death occurs our promise as Christians is an eternity of no suffering. Don't focus on the problem at hand, focus on the result that God will give.
Preached by Tommy Boring on February 19, 2014 (Wednesday).
God Is Not Your Santa Claus
Romans 12:1-2 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Sometimes we look at God as our benefit and He was created for our use. We usually give Him our leftovers. God has never asked of us that is not too much. Our entire life should be focused on God. You you've been saved, you're not even of yourself. Most of the time we as humans look to bettering ourselves and honoring ourselves. How many times do we tell God what we want? How serious do you take the bible? Just because you do not have a graven image before God doesn't mean that you do not worship other things before God. You should put God before your family, money, job, yourself, children, spouse, etc. Everything that you do that is NOT about God will ALL be burnt up and pass away. If you do not follow God, how are others going to know how to? You should desire to please God because it is what is required and reasonable. Serving God isn't optional. If you are saved, it's not an option. If you do not obey and do what God has called you to do, He will punish you. Do you ever wonder why you do not see Gods power? If you do not put God first, then you've started in the wrong place. We believe that God created everything and controls everything around us and they all obey, but when He gets to us, we say no.
Preached by Lucas Boring on August 18, 2013 (Sunday Evening).
Are You A Victor?
