Philippians 4:13 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Whenever we get a little bit of strength with God, it'll work. If you've got strength in God then there is always victory. It doesn't take much human strength with God. Gods word can knock every devil to its knees. As with most that's been saved, they want to share what happened because they want others to have the same experience. The first step to salvation is always a hard step to take. It takes a little bit of strength. Before you read your bible you should always pray. Without God, we are nothing.

Psalm 46:1-11 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Even when you're really still you're often times still busy within. Most everyone lives by some sort of timeline. Be still. Let go and let God. We must stop with the television, cell phone, etc. These things take up our times with God. A sacrifice is often made because we don't want to give up those things. A lot of our instruction requires us to be still. Check your "to do lists" and make sure that God is on it. At the top of the list should be, be still for God. One can't say that they don't have time to be still with God. There has always been 24 hours in the day. The problem is that stuff takes up that time and we are unwilling to remove the stuff and replace it with God. Make an effort to make time for God. Our schedules should have God in them and if they don't then what does that say? It will fall apart if I'm not involved. This is false, God is in full control and without Him it would fall apart. We are replaceable. Look in a graveyard and you'll see it full replaced people. The things they once did someone else has picked it up and are continuing it. Are we not like a person that's afraid of a bee? The devil comes around and we begin flailing around trying to stop him. All the while WE have no control over the devil by ourselves. God is the only one that can rid of of the devil and his pestering actions. We must put God first, be still. We must all graduate from kindergarten when it comes to our spiritual lives. Get off the milk and start consuming solid foods. Prayer along is alright but you need more Jesus to truly live. We must know Him, intimately, personally because He wants to hold us. God is asking us to stop and be still for just a moment so He can be close to us. Once you get to that place, hope grows as well as our faith.

Who Is Rich?
Mark 10:17-31 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
|Every adult is rich. 70% of the adult population has less than $10,000. The problem is that we like to compare what others have to ours and see that others or richer than you therefore defining your own definition of what rich means.
The reason that Jesus came was because we couldn't keep the commandments. Think about your own life, heat and cool at the touch of a button. Hot water by the turn of a switch. So these things that you "own" surely since you own them you can keep them forever. At the time of your death, what will you take with you? All the belongings in your life will be left behind and nothing will be taken with you when you die.
Going to a third world country we see and compare what they have versus us. The comparison is not fair because it's based upon our current lifestyle. If one would stop and ask them if they are poor they would surely say they are not.
Billionaires wish they were happier at times but they seemingly have everything they could ever want. What does it profit a man to have everything but die with with a lost soul. Here on this earth you could have all the riches in the world but die lost and have nothing. A saved person can live on this earth with nothing to their name and die and be the richest person for eternity.
In today's time it's difficult to call to the sinner because they think they have everything they need. Can a rich person be saved? Yes, but they must put their riches away, they can't put their trust in them. A man can't worship two gods. People that trust in riches have no need for a savior because they put their trust in their riches. If you've got anything in this life, rejoice over it. Each time you can turn the water on, rejoice! With every egg you eat, rejoice! With each minute you work, rejoice!
You came into the world naked and empty handed, you will also leave this world naked and empty handed no matter what you own or know. How rich are you? If you don't have Christ, salvation, then you are as poor as poor can be.

Rules of Gift Giving
2 Corinthians 9:6-8 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
|The gift of God is simply, John 3:16. He gave the unspeakable gift. Beginning from the last, everything comes from God. Not one person has anything unless it comes thru God first. We as humans are selfish creatures by nature. God wants to give you His undeserved love. Many holidays come and go and they revolve around giving, however we should be a giver everyday. If you're judging the gift by its size then you've missed the point. One doesn't give because of self, one gives because they are loved. We've been given the greatest gift, love, that it should cause one to give it back.
There should be a time when you've found yourself in want. Bills to pay, missing food on the table or even gas to fuel the car. During that time, God might come to you and ask you to give to someone else. Now money is not something that can be controlled and many of billionaires worry about it till they die.
One point to be a good giver is to give abundantly and not sparingly. Just as sowing seeds, one doesn't plant one seed expecting hundreds of plants.
Point two, give purposely. One should purpose in their heart to love God and to pray for the need or gift. God knows the need and therefore we should obey what He tells us to give.
The third point is to give freely. This doesn't mean to smile while you gift it. Without a grudge or necessity. If it bothers you to give then you're giving wrongly.
If how you give is based on how you feel at the moment then the devil will talk you out if it every time. God tries to teach His lesson on giving by your obedience. When God tells you to give, give without question. No matter how much one gives, one can NEVER out-give Gods giving. We give because if we sow it, we will reap it as long as it's done by the above three points. The second reason is because God loves a cheerful giver. Wouldn't we all want to please God? Now when the offering was being taken, God is always watching. He knows what's in your pocket, He knows what's in your heart and He knows what He told you. It's not about how much is put it but why it was put in. Our church does not tell you how much to give because an amount is not biblical in today's time. The Old Testament explain a tenth but the New Testament explains that it's based on what God tells you to give and what you're willing to give. If you're worried about giving then you're worried about the wrong thing. 2 Cor explains that always God will take care of all needs.

From Faith To Trust
Proverbs 3:5-6 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Faith and trust are not the same. Just because you believe God doesn't mean you trust Him. Faith is believing in something that you have no visible proof of. If you don't believe in God doesn't make Him not there. It takes faith in God to be saved. Trust is the actual work in which we believe. You can believe that a parachute will save you but until you use or proven it you can't trust it. Once you jump out of the plane you lose all control until you put all your trust in the parachute. Mark 9:23, Eph 3:23, Heb 13:5, John 3:16, Rom 5:8 We believe in these things but do you put your trust in them? We should turn loose of this world and put all trust in God. God is calling us into something that we no control over. We believe that thru God all things are possible but we bring Him down to that of a person and not fully trust Him. God wants to navigate you thru all things in life but unless you put all your trust in Him, He can't do that. Psalm 33:5, 1 Peter 1:6-7, Rom 8:28 Turn loose of this world and let God guide you.
