Righteousness (Part 2)
Romans 10:1-10 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Deut 30 references Rom 10:5. One must complete the law in its entirety. No one has been able to keep the law perfectly therefore we are guilty. The works of the flesh will not be accepted as a payment into Heaven. Jesus Christ would have never been sent as a sacrifice if there was another way into Heaven. Do you think you're a good person? If you're trying to get into Heaven by any other way but by Jesus Christ then you're creating a self righteous religion that will get you into Hell. There is a way that seems right but it WILL lead to death, Hell. How many people go to the doctor if they are well? Likewise, how many people will go to Jesus when everything seems to be going good? Most people judge their relationship with Christ by watching others. If that person lives just as good as they do then everything just be ok.

Perfection is the only thing that will go to Heaven. There is not a single person that has mastered perfection. What makes a person perfect is by accepting Christ as their savior. Who in their right mind would say that they would rather go to Hell than to Heaven? Christ has already done everything He can to allow you to go to Heaven.

So how do you get saved? There is one thing required and that's to believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins, Rom 10:9-10;13.

Preached by Tommy Boring on January 7, 2018 (Sunday Morning).
Keep Fighting
Romans 8:10 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
The key to life is Romans 8:2. At one time there was a time when slavery was ok and not against the law. A slave owner would tell his slaves what to do and when to do it. But something changed and the Emmancipation Proclimation was created and therefore freed all slaves from their owners. Even though that change took place there were still slave owners even though they owned no slaves. They were still known as a slave owner just as the slave was known as a former slave. Just as in death, the body can not speak. If we are a Christian we should shut our body down to the flesh and let only God work thru us. You can never please God thru the flesh but only thru the spirit. It's Gods will to see the lost saved and those to live in a life abundantly. We open the door to sin each and every time because we live in the flesh but we should remove those things. If one plays with sin the sooner it'll burn you. Once you open the door to sin it might be small at first but it'll soon add up and become larger to where it can quickly overcome. We should be very careful with the things that we partake of and make sure it's of God and not of the devil. One must leave sin alone, turn from it and not return to it. The "slave owner" still lives today and calls to everyone in order to control them. The slave owner being Satan wants all of us to be controlled in order to be destroyed. He hates everyone and wants everyone to be with him in an eternal fire. He wants to control the Christians life so that they stumble and create a false example of God and His love. Satan wants to control the lost persons life in order to rid the world of Christians because he hates God. The Christian should never give in to sin. Put your eyes in the Word of God and know what it means to be a child of God.

What Are You After In This World?
Colossians 3:1-4 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Legalism is bondage as it ties one to something other than God. The first thing that came to Adam and Eve was sin and then death. We are not able to keep the law of the old testaments. There were over 600 laws back before Jesus came. Are you born again? If so, then you should seek those things that are of God. It's easier said than done when we should work for the things not of this world. Ask yourself this question, is there anything in your life that's greater than Jesus? The only time you'll seek after something is when you love it more than something else. The saved should desire heavenly things over the earthly. In most every church you find most are then same when it comes to workers. There is a very small percentage that actually work because they are the only ones sold out to Christ. There are three reasons why we seek after God. The first, we are dead to the world. What can a dead person do? We chase everything in the world like its the greatest thing ever to come. Rom 6:1-2 How can a born again believer chase after something that's dead? The second thing is that we are hid in Christ. This means the saved is secured in Christ. The third is when Jesus comes back we will be with Him. Shouldn't it be important that we be doing His work when we are called to glory? A Christian will regret not doing His work from the past.

When It's Your Time At The Whipping Post
Acts 16:20-25 (Part of the Communion Services series).
People will tell you that being a Christian is an easy road. If you are a Christian the devil will try to stop you working and spreading the love of God. Every person is in a battle. Most battles are against themselves, pride, lust, etc. no matter what you go through in your life, God is in full control. At some point in your life you WILL have your time with a heavy trial. When Christians are going through their trials, act like a Christian, respond like a Christian. When the devil wants to get you down, he'll attack you with the people that you love. Still to this day people still disagree who Jesus is. We as Christians are only Christians because of Grace. There is a day coming that we ALL will die. Forgiveness is an act of sinless. We all fail miserably but all we have to do is ask for forgiveness. The devil will use your failures against you to say that you are too wicked for forgiveness. We are ALL guilty of being a sinner BUT if we are saved, we have forgiveness.
Preached by Ronnie Whitehead on June 6, 2014 (Communion).
Working for Righteousness
Romans 10:1-11 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Heaven will be filled with righteousness. The flesh overcomes righteousness. No one feels comfortable saying they are righteous. We need to have a desire to worship God. You can not have righteousness through good works. The power in us of God is the righteousness. In order to have righteousness you must be saved. We all have a problem looking in the mirror and saying we are perfect. Two requirements to have righteousness. One is having been saved. The other is to believe God above everything else having all faith in Him.
Preached by Tommy Boring on April 13, 2014 (Sunday Evening).
