|James 2:14-23 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).|
|There's a difference between saying and doing. There are many people that are willing to make the statement that they believe that Jesus is the son of God. On top of that is that there are those that will pat those people on the back and tell them that they are alright with God. Having your name on the church books doesn't give one more faith or make one saved. Some today say it all day long that they believe but nothing to prove it. There is a difference between saying it and doing it. Their are pastors that tell there congregants that all they have to do is simply say it and they'll be saved. "Repeat after me..." We still live in a society that state they're saved but have no true evidence of such. Getting saved is not anything that a preacher does but an operation that is done by Christ Himself. Just because you tell the devil to flee means nothing because it's the Holy Spirit that causes the devils to leave. Not everyone that says Lord, Lord will be in Heaven. Matt 7:22-23, Have we not done wonderful things in your name? Jesus Christ loves you and does not want you to go to Hell. Make sure you're saved! Even the Devils and Satan say they believe in God but as we all now they are ALL destined for Hell. The Holy Spirit MUST reveal unto you that you're lost before you can be saved. You can go thru the motions, say all the right things but if Christ hasn't invited and revealed to you then you're wasting your time and hurting others. James 2:23, Abraham said he believed God. But God tested him and thru his works/faith it was shown that he truly was a "Friend of God". Is you're faith real? Has it stood the test of time? Has it wavered? Is it your faith alone and not someone else's?|

|Because He Is Worth It|
|Hebrews 13:7 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).|
|A Christian leader is one that leads by example and by respect. Great Christian leaders that have led by examples is Henry Webb. He lived almost 3.5 miles away from the church and would walk to the church house each and every time the doors were open. He walked thru all kinds of elements because God was worth it to him. A faithful member. The sad truth is that today, most have a problem getting out of bed when it's cold outside even though our vehicles are heated as well as the church. People are watching whether you want them to or not.
Henry Webb's obituary: "Henry Webb was born June 29, 1904, and departed this life Dec. 2, 1989, being 84 years, 5 months, and 3 days of age.
Henry professed faith in Christ and joined the New Providence Primitive Baptist Church on November 9, 1969, and was baptized November 16, 1969.
He was a very faithful member of his church and loved it and the people of the church.
He labored in the building of the New Providence Church both in the first building and in the present building, the church was his life as long as he was able to attend."We should examine ourselves to make sure that what we show to the world is a godly life. God needs leaders in His church. Are you willing to be a leader? Are you able to? You must first be able before you can be a leader.

|One Step Doesn't Make a Journey|
|Acts 2:41-42 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).|
|It takes one step to start the journey. There is not one person that knows for how long they are going to live. So how are you going to live those steps? What matters is the dash between your birth date and death date. We have no choice of when we are born and likewise our death. Have we not wasted years of our lives on junk. God will examine our journey and the junk will all be burnt. If you're waiting for the Spirit of God to show up before you began to worship, if you're saved then the Spirit lives inside you. We all have our own minds to make up whether we serve God or not. No one else can serve God for you. If you have children in your life then they are always watching you which means you are constantly teaching them. So what are you teaching those children about church, God? God knows why you come to church and it's just as bad to attend church unwilling and hindering His word than to simply lay out. If you've been saved then you've been purchased therefore you no longer own yourself, you live for Him now. Now your life matters when it comes to God. It's not about just getting into Heaven. Does Wednesday matter? What about Tuesday? When does it become okay to not live for God? Who's choice was it to join the church? What happened then when you made the choice to not follow Gods Word about not failing to assemble themselves together in the church service?
The Primitive Baptist association are made up of several churches and was established back in 1802. Associations of churches are not usual but ours has been going on for over 200 years. If some people do not take an interest into the association, it will dissolve. Now the association can NOT get one into Heaven but there are some things that are important. Most of the pastors of NPPBC were not from NPPBC, they were from other churches.

|Let Your Light Shine|
|Matthew 5:3-16 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).|
The children are the church of tomorrow and we should be striving to bring them to Jesus or take Jesus to them. Our children go thru a lot more than what we would have ever dreamed about during their time in school. We can't save a person but we must love them and explain to them that God loves them.
A lot of churches today don't care about the salvation but mostly about the number that's seated in the sanctuary. Salvation is more than a church attendance. Make sure the church that you attend is following the Word of God and in order for you to know this, you must study it for yourself.
Make sure you let your light shine to others. It might be small but it's still a light in the world full of darkness. The truth of salvation is that once your saved, that is when your battle truly will begin. Satan will not bother you while your lost because your still one of his. After salvation your one of Gods and Satan will try his best to cause you to stumble to show others that they do not need salvation. Salvation requires work and that work is specialized to your soul. God calls each person to do a work. To some, it might be praying, others it could be missions and then the next it could be to simply testify.
A lot of people don't get saved because they worry what others might think. The truth is, don't let them discourage you into Hell. When God removes a sin or a problem from your life, don't pick it back up. He removed it, don't let Satan talk you back into it! If being saved promised you a life of luxury then there wouldn't be anyone turning it away. There's not anyone that wouldn't want to live a perfect life of happiness where things ALWAYS go their way. The truth about a humans life is that we ALL have ups and downs and nothing can make it a perfect life. But having Jesus in your life means you have someone to fight for you in your times of need. It also means that when you die, you'll have an eternal life of happiness and joy everlasting. Passing away without Jesus means you'll live your eternal life in Hell where you'll be tormented unlike anything you've ever imagined.

|2 Corinthians 5:17-21 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).|
|Reconciliation is what God came to do. There is but one thing that separates God from us and that's sin. We have offended God with our actions, rebellion and our words. It happened in the Garden of Eden where we know that man would sin and break the fellowship with God. People think they have that fellowship by their life being good but that is a lie from the devil. The meaning of reconciliation is the filling the gap between God and man. God took the first step in fixing the gap, not man. There is nothing that God can't reconcile. In most all cases when someone is saved, they are not looking for God, in fact God came looking for them.
There is often a mediator during a reconciliation. 1 Tim 2:5-6, Act 4:12 There had to be someone to stand your case. Christ being the mediator stands between your sin and God and claims your case into salvation. There is a method to the mediation as well and that's the taking of the sin thru death, a sacrifice. Once the sin took place in the Garden of Eden, man never walked with God again until the mediator came. Once the mediator came then we now are able to walk with God. God can't look upon sin but how does He look upon a saved sinner? He looks thru the blood of His son Jesus Christ.
Two goats were taken as a sacrifice. One was to be used as a scapegoat and was to have the sin cast upon it and released. The other was to be sacrificed because blood must be shed.
We don't deserve to be saved because we are full of sin. But not only is there a method but there is also a ministry to being reconciled. The ministry is not only for the preachers but to ALL of those that have been reconciled, saved. A saved persons testimony is the greatest ministry there is. It's a responsibility that all that's been saved has and it's the great commission. To go out into the world and tell them about Jesus Christ no matter where they are.
The only thing that keeps you from God is your unbelief. Most feel that God could never love a person like themselves. But God came to them, they didn't go looking for God therefore He comes because He loves them.
