"Well Done!" Will You Hear It?
Matthew 25:14-21 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
We need to be faithful with a few things. When people look at the church they see a lot of people just like them instead of a people set apart. When God gives your something to do, be faithful in that and do it to your best ability. Be faithful in your service. A servant of God can't serve two masters. Mathew 6:24 You will either love God and hate the world or hate God and love the world. Romans 6:6 If you are saved, you belong to God and not yourself. 1 Corinthians 4:1-2 We as church members should be faithful to each other as well as God. To serve God is to follow God. John 12:26 Does God expect or is He looking forward? Romans 12:1 Being saved means we should consider ourselves as a living sacrifice. To truly serve God you must serve one another. Galatians 5:13, Matthew 25:40-46, Galatians 6:2 Does it matter what you do? Luke 14:33 If you're not willing to give it ALL, then you can't be His disciple.
Preached by Tommy Boring on February 16, 2014 (Sunday Evening).
Supporting The Called Man Of God
Acts 20:22-28 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Are you warning others of their eternal death? The office of the pastor should be prayed over for support and strength. Pastors should take time out of their life to study the Word. Some will take the call of their family to preach the Word. Preaching is rightfully dividing the Word. Supporting the pastor starts with listening to what he is preaching. The sower is the messenger, preacher of the Word, the seed is the Word and the ground is us. If one is working for God, then they WILL be offensive because the Word is sharper than a two edged sword. Preaching isn't a hobby, it's a life. Being a pastor isn't a person called duty, it's God called. The pastor needs a church just as much as the church needs the pastor. If the pastor is the messenger of God, should we not respect him? If one does not respect the pastor, then they've disrespected God. God doesn't call the enabled, He enables the called.
Preached by Jeff Patton on September 22, 2013 (Sunday Evening).
Getting Dirty In The Ditch
Galatians 6:2 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
The law of Christ is to love one another as Christ loves us. What does it mean to bear one another's burdens? Number one, we must pray one for another. You shouldn't pick and choose who you want to pray for. Us as Christians have a responsibility to pray for one another. Another thing we can do for one another is to help. It's easy to not get involved. In order to help someone, you might have to get dirty.
Preached by Tommy Boring on March 10, 2013 (Sunday Evening).
Can God Accomplish His Will?
Jonah 1:1 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Isn't it like God to care for the ones we find unlovable? Gods Word will support you, it will draw you back and it will teach you to worship. When God sends any out, it will be great things. If God can raise the dead, then He can cause a fish to swallow a man and keep him alive. Jonah knew he wasn't going to win over God. How many times have you backed down from doing something that God has required of you?
Preached by Tommy Boring on December 5, 2012 (Wednesday).
Get Over Yourself
Matthew 16:24-28 (Part of the 210th Original Tennessee Association of Primitive Baptist series).
Deny yourself of couch time, worldly things and self. It's time to wake up and get to work for Christ. Start following what the bible says and go out and compel them to come in. Give yourself to God and work for Him. Do all that you can to reach the lost. If you truly loved Jesus then you would kneel and pray, you would love your neighbors and would deny yourself comfort. Following Jesus isn't easy just as the cross was difficult to bare. It's great to live under the grace period but its a higher standard to give it all for His glory. God doesn't want your leftovers, He wants your very best. We need to support one another that is in the ministry. Love is more that just words. If you truly love your people then you'll put action behind it. You can't reap what you don't sow.
Preached by Jeff Patton on October 13, 2012 (Association Morning 2).
