Afraid of Worship
(Part of the Miscellaneous series).
When was the last time you went into His chamber and danced? When do you go into His court and simply praise Him? Sell out to God and you'll find something greater than the world. How can you get enough of God out of one service to not want to come back on Sunday and Wednesday nights? When we look on every corner we've all got problems and the enemy stands against us, but God is for us and nothing can stand against God. Praise God for that! Seems like people back in the day were more apt to shout for God. When we step into the church house we step into a place of holiness. If shouting embarrasses you, you might be in the wrong place. Heaven will be full of shouting. We should all get to the point where the "can't help it"'s take over. We worry about things when we shouldn't. Nothing can touch you until it goes through God first. Sunday's are not the only time to rest and experience God. We can all experience God at anytime that we lay ourselves down and lift up His name. What hinders us is others and what they may think of us.
Preached by Tommy Boring on January 4, 2015 (Sunday Evening).
Jesus Loves the Little Children
Matthew 18:1-14 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
There are lots of needs to small children but the greatest of the needs are not physical. You must be converted as a small child. The first thing is that you must be dependent just as a child is completely dependent upon someone for everything. You must be dependent upon God. Once you become saved, you'll find out that being prideful never works. We should always lower ourselves and exalt Jesus Christ above all. It's very important to pay attention to the little children in our lives. When start bring your children to church, your life will be blessed. You better be careful how you treat little children as a saved person. Each small child has an angel that ministers to them.
Preached by Tommy Boring on December 3, 2014 (Wednesday).
The Cost of Serving Jesus
2 Samuel 24:24 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Anything of great value has a cost. Anything that we give to God it must be of great value. Are you giving God your first best or your second leftovers? Do you agree that everything you have came from God? God is looking for a commitment. But unless you realize that it's of great value, it will not be a commitment. The world wants a feel good message not a truthful message of rejection. Simply writing a check of high money is not of great value to God. You must love the things around you less than the love that you must have for Christ. God doesn't accept your second best. With Sunday being the first day of the week, it's the first therefore the best. If you don't love Jesus more than everything else in your life you better get on your knees. One can't be a disciple of Jesus if you only want to serve Him in part. If you think it's easy to serve God, you've been tricked. Jesus himself stated that if one decides to follow Him, they would be persecuted for His name. Are you giving God your all?
Preached by Tommy Boring on November 3, 2013 (Sunday Evening).
Sin Is The Pits
Psalm 40:1-2 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
The devil will tell us that when we get down that God can't help you. If you can't feel the the spirit of God then there is something between you and God. Have you ever felt like God never loved you? Sin will pull you down, deeper and deeper. Some have made a choice to live for themselves and sin than to live for God. People live with no fear of God. You can't play games with God, He will ALWAYS win. When we realize something is not right, we tend to mask it by finding something to do. It's not God's fault that you're down and depressed. There is nothing that will give you the peace and love that God will give you.
Preached by Tommy Boring on January 20, 2013 (Sunday Morning).
It's Not About ME
John 13:12-17 (Part of the Communion Services series).
Are you working inside and outside the church, Sundays as well as Thursdays? Do you point others to Christ through your actions? How do you serve others or do you find yourself serving yourself over others?
Preached by Lucas Boring on June 1, 2012 (Communion).
