Dining With God
John 12:1-3 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
|Gal 2:22, Christ lives in us if you've been saved. Hopefully when you've come to the house of God you've prepared to dine with God. There are times that the meal that God has prepared isn't as sweet as we think it should be. We shouldn't turn our nose up to it as its good for us. John 6:35, God is the bread of life. When one comes to eat, Christ will satisfy. Family is good but Gods family is so much better. They work when no one is watching and uplifts others in Christ thru Christ and their obedience.
Worship is a must. Some of us get out of worship but we find ourselves down and needing to go back to worship. Sometimes we think we can do it ourselves, but we can't.
Salvation is the best thing from the meal. Have you ever seen someone else's salvation and their excitement? If a Christian denies Christ then you will become a stumbling block to others.
Martha is hospitable. Martha was a busy and was serving others. God blessed her with a gift of serving others. You should be welcoming as Martha when it comes to your church. She was practical, straight to the point. We should be to the point when it comes to sharing Christ with others. We shouldn't speak with words of great elegance only to confuse those that don't understand them.
Mary was a humble person. She was one of the first ones to the tomb of Christ. Mary was usually always found at the feet of Jesus. John 20:16, referred to Jesus as her Master. She was filled with 7 Devils when Jesus met her to which He promptly removed, Mark 1:22-24. 1 John 5:8, what God gives nothing can take away. We should be in great awe of what He does.
Lazarus sat at the table with Jesus the one that had just raised him from the dead. Just imagine what he would have thought. While Martha and Mary served Jesus and the table while Lazarus sat and thought of the one that raised him. John 17:1

A Voice Above All Other
John 10:1-5 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
|God speaks to people in different ways. In Genesis you'll read how God spoke in the dreams of Joseph. Yet in Matthew 1:20-24; 2:13; 2:19; 2:22 we read where another Joseph was talked to in his dreams by God. However still today, God still speaks in many ways. Make sure when you think you hear God speak that it's of God. Gods made of wood, gold or stone will never speak back. Some are confused about Gods speech and expect Him to verbally speak in a loud voice to them. Some confuse His voice with things of this world. In the end, you WILL know when He speaks because His voice bares witness with your soul.
Have you ever thought about your kidneys functioned? How about your lungs when they expanded? Have you ever stopped to be thankful for those simple but very important things?
Not only does God speak to our mind but He also speaks to our hearts. Thru Gods speech to our hearts, conviction of sin is made therefore bringing forth repentance or Salvation. We should at all times pray without ceasing. Prayer is not just a one way speech but a two way conversation.
John 10:1-5 notice how the shepherd calls the sheep and they hear his voice and will only answer to his voice. If you're one of His then you know His voice and you should follow Him always.

The Sacred Communion
John 6:44-58 (Part of the Communion Services series).
All the physical pain that Jesus Christ went through was nothing compared to the separation between Him and His Father. Communion is a Holy right and should not be taken lightly. Only the saved should take part in the communion as those without salvation will be judged. If you have sin or an ought between you and someone else, you should repent of it prior to the communion service. God wants to commune with us but sin keeps Him from doing so. Jesus came down from Heaven being equal with God to perform an act lower than a slave. He washed His disciples feet humbling Himself to show His love towards them.

Gods Not Going to Kick the Door In
Revelation 3:20-22 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
God doesn't beat on the door to get your attention. God will not drag you to the altar. God wants you to open the door, wants you to worship because you love Him. Just because you're a church member doesn't mean that you are automatically going to heaven. Jesus was so stressed and troubled that He sweat drops of blood. They then beat Jesus 99 times and was not recognized. Then they plucked out his beard. They then forced Him to carry a cross through the town upon a hill. At this point they nailed him to the cross in order for him to hang with His own weight. Even in the state that Jesus was in, He still loved the thief next to Him and even those around by saying forgive them. The entire earth knew that Jesus was the Christ. We live in a world today that people will live how they feel what is right in their own eyes. Some say they want some big proof from God that He's real. He has already done that, time and time again. What more do you want Him to do? We should love God with everything in our heart. Why are you here? Why do you serve Him? How long has it been since you've sat with God and communed with Him? God will not force you to worship Him.

Bound by Sin
John 11:41-44 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Disobedience to the Word of God is the number one sin in the world today. When Jesus called for Lazarus to come forth, he was still wrapped and wasn't clean. Just as we need to remove the sin, unwrap the sin. It doesn't matter how wrapped up with sin, when Jesus calls, He cleans. How many times have you argued with God about something He's told you to do? Moses argued with God, so did Jonah. How did they turn out? We were all dead in our sins, when Jesus spoke your name, you came out of your grave clothes and were born again. Unless Jesus calls your name, you can't be saved. Do you know what to do when God tells you to do something?
