The Crown That We Will Receive
2 Timothy 4:6-8 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Most of the time we try prep for what's coming. We often go to the grocery store to purchase groceries because we must prep for an upcoming meal. In our human bodies we all know that there is an end coming, death. We must prepare for that day just as we prepared for the upcoming meal. The difference is that we don't know when death will come. There is a work for us all to do, whether they be good or bad is to be judged at our death. In our humanly body we most all of us have worked a job. If we had worked two weeks and not received a paycheck, we would probably be slightly upset. Just the same, if the employer paid you in advance and you never did the work. So where do you place yourself in your commitment level when it comes to doing Gods work? There's a reason that we work for Christ. You must examine yourselves and make sure that you've fought a good fight the best that you could. One can't work themselves into Heaven, only by grace alone will one be allowed into Heaven. 2 Timothy 4:8; crown of righteousness James 1:12; crown of life 1 Peter 5:4; crown of glory Rev 4:4; crowns of gold Is it right to reward a person that does nothing versus a person that does it all? Rev 4:8-10 These crowns were given back to Jesus, cast at His feet by those that earned the crowns. Something that we could give back only because He is worthy and not us. Just imagine being there and not having anything to give back.

Stopping The Voices
Psalm 40:1-4 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
David endured physical afflictions and he often prayed about them. Also, he prayed for his enemies. Just as he, discouragement affects us all and it all begins in our minds.

God can hear you as long as you have repented and hold no inequity in our hearts. If God granted every prayer we asked Him instantly then He would surely be our spare tire. But God makes us wait thru patience.

Our mind is liken to a horrible pit full of never ending noise. We can not stop it no matter what we do and try. Always thinking, always listening, always wondering and doubting. The miry clay being depression that our mind will usually begin to think about if we don't put our minds at ease thru Christ. People today are screaming to be rescued from their own minds.

The clearest your mind will ever be is when you allow God to work in your mind. Prayer can bring clarity and remove the doubt in our minds. Not only will God clear your mind and ease it but He will also place you on something solid that you DO know.

How many have things are rolling around in your mind that you can't get rid of? A grudge against someone? Worried about a sickness? Stressed about a lived one?

For a child of God we are not a victim but a victor! We choose everyday which one you want to be.

Who Is Rich?
Mark 10:17-31 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Every adult is rich. 70% of the adult population has less than $10,000. The problem is that we like to compare what others have to ours and see that others or richer than you therefore defining your own definition of what rich means.

The reason that Jesus came was because we couldn't keep the commandments. Think about your own life, heat and cool at the touch of a button. Hot water by the turn of a switch. So these things that you "own" surely since you own them you can keep them forever. At the time of your death, what will you take with you? All the belongings in your life will be left behind and nothing will be taken with you when you die.

Going to a third world country we see and compare what they have versus us. The comparison is not fair because it's based upon our current lifestyle. If one would stop and ask them if they are poor they would surely say they are not.

Billionaires wish they were happier at times but they seemingly have everything they could ever want. What does it profit a man to have everything but die with with a lost soul. Here on this earth you could have all the riches in the world but die lost and have nothing. A saved person can live on this earth with nothing to their name and die and be the richest person for eternity.

In today's time it's difficult to call to the sinner because they think they have everything they need. Can a rich person be saved? Yes, but they must put their riches away, they can't put their trust in them. A man can't worship two gods. People that trust in riches have no need for a savior because they put their trust in their riches. If you've got anything in this life, rejoice over it. Each time you can turn the water on, rejoice! With every egg you eat, rejoice! With each minute you work, rejoice!

You came into the world naked and empty handed, you will also leave this world naked and empty handed no matter what you own or know. How rich are you? If you don't have Christ, salvation, then you are as poor as poor can be.

Cold Hearts and Hardened Souls
Jeremiah 23:29 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
The Word of God is a fire that burns within. It is like a hammer that breaks the rocks the hardness of the hearts. If one lets it, it will set you on fire for God. If the Word of God doesn't move you then you need to examine your Christian life. Not only does the Word burn and bring them together but it's like a hammer breaking the hardness of the heart, softens it. How can one be saved and not enjoy the Word of God? The Word of God saves us and keeps us. Do you believe the Word of God? The fire of God will and should set your heart on fire. It should change you, move you and cause you to work for Him.

Sanctification
1 Thessalonians 5:12-28 (Part of the The Need For Christian Duties series).
In order to perform the Christian duties, one must be sanctified. Many will think they are doing His will but in their end, God will tell them that He never knew them.

Sanctified means, set apart. More importantly, separated from evil. The question is not about what's on the inside for if you've been saved, God dwells within. The truth is, is that the outside is flesh and it fails daily will always fail until it's made into a heavenly body.

2 Cor 6:17, a Christian should be different than the world. Heb 10:14, for a Christian the inside (soul) is what's made new, the outside remains the same. The outward is a constant battle to bring under subjection. 2 Tim 1:12, we as Christians can not keep our salvation because it wasn't us that saved us. Once we are saved, we are always saved. We as humans have plaques that trouble the flesh. Lusts of the flesh cause us as humans to fall short of His perfectness. However, we must repent of our sins when the sins are realized and pointed out by God. God has never made a mistake therefore when He saved you, it wasn't a mistake and He will not take it back. Gods word has not changed and will not change.

We should remove ourselves from the worldly things. Most don't like to step away because it sets the up to be ridiculed. How is anyone to know that a Christian is a Christian if they do the same things as a lost person? There's a lot of Christians that want to get better. The reason is because they want to bless God, He's worth it! But, serving God brings forth works and that's what the world will see. Now salvation is NOT about works, works is the result of salvation.

Titus 3:8, sanctification and works are linked because you can't have works from God until you've been sanctified. We as Christian should follow, obey and serve Him because we are in a great debt because God has paid for our sins. Please stop and make sure you're not going along with the crowd. Did you know that someone is ALWAYS watching you? Heb 10:24, you won't find a lot of talk about works in a Baptist church because it's easily confused for non believers. Just as its been said, works are the result of salvation. Works without salvation is just work and will not be recognized by Christ as works for Him in the end. Christians can't do the work of God on their own. In order to make Holy fruit, it has to start with something Holy.

Are you saved? One can't move to the next step unless they've been saved. Check your heart, have you been saved?
