Can You Bear It?
1 Peter 5:6-11 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
The bible never said that God would never put anything on you that you couldn't bear. It is a lie from satan himself, where he twists it and changes it to something that isn't true. Jesus Christ was tempted when the devil twisted Gods own scripture. His grace is sufficient for ALL. There are many things that will happen in our lives that we will never understand. Do you realize that Jesus could no longer carry is own cross? No other religion can claim what Christians can, we serve a living God. When we get to the point to where we can't carry our burdens, we need to ask for help from God. At times, we want God to take our problems from us but we end up picking them back up.
Preached by Bruce Whitehead on May 6, 2015 (Wednesday).
A Better Day Cometh
(Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Suffering is just for a little while for Christians, while we are here on earth. This too shall pass. When the going gets tough, stand still. Has God ever failed you? There is a day coming that all sin and suffering will end. Our greatest enemy is not satan or the devil, it's ourselves, the flesh. No one has to be taught how to be greedy, lie, kill or hate. We may pass through a valley down here but there is always a mountain top to come. Don't strive to go home because it hard. God is faithful. We may all suffer a horrible death, suffering before we leave this world. But once death occurs our promise as Christians is an eternity of no suffering. Don't focus on the problem at hand, focus on the result that God will give.
Preached by Tommy Boring on February 19, 2014 (Wednesday).
