Hell
Mark 9:42-48 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Baptist preachers are known for preaching about Hell, often. The truth is, Jesus preached on hell often as well. There is a reason we must be saved, there is something that we are saved from. To be born again one must become as a simple minded child. One should not offend a saved child. People live as if there is no end to their life yet everyone WILL die, no one will live forever here on this earth. What does Hell look like? Luke 16 describes a man that went to Hell and what he experienced there. Before Christ those that died believing in God went to a place called Paradise. Those that died with unbelief of God went to a place called Hell. Hell is a place of multiple torments. Fire that is unending that burns nonstop whatever it touches. The worm or mind of a person that will never die will forever think of those times of repentance. The ability to look into Heaven only to know you will never be able to be there because of your choice to deny Christ. There will be screams and crying from deep within Hell. Teeth that bite and tear at the flesh, never stopping. There are many that are already on their way to Hell, right now! If you're lost, you're going to Hell. The only thing that saves you from going to Hell is Jesus Christ with His salvation. One MUST believe in Jesus Christ in order to be saved and go to Heaven. God never said He wanted you to go to Hell but instead, Heaven. Another torment of Hell is knowing your family members and friends are on their way to Hell as well and not being able to stop them. How could you want to go to Hell? A place that's better than Paradise is called Heaven which is where all the saved, born again believer are headed. Once your eyes close for the last time they will then open in Heaven. Jesus sits on the right side of God in Heaven where there is NO sadness or regrets. Heaven is the permanent place that was created by Jesus after His crucifixion. The Lake of Fire is the permanent place of Hell after Jesus come again. Don't let your permanent location be Hell. If God didn't love you then He wouldn't have sent Jesus, His Only son, to die in your place.

Your Sin Is Not Just Your Sin
Joshua 7:10-13 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
The price or penalty of sin affects many. If sin only affected the one that sinned, then it would be a different situation. We should know what's right and wrong but there is also that lives inside of a saved person that is a moral compass. If you willing sin, you offend the Holy Spirit and judgement will be required. It's never ok to sin no matter who says it's fine. When one feels the temptation of sin we should walk away from it. One can always claim an excuse of a sin but in the end, you know it's a sin. If you are saved and you do sin, God will chastise you if forgiveness is not asked. If you are confused about whether it's right or wrong, you need to seek Gods face. Romans 6:23 plainly states what sin will get you. Sin is a temporary happiness that will quickly turn to death. The warning to us all is that sin is not joy to God. God will not turn His back while you choose to sin. Sin has and will always be a choice to us all. Your sin could affect the church, the family and even your life. When you stand before God, you will no excuse, blame or any reason to why you chose to sin. There is no other price for sin but death. You can always hide your sin from others around you but God will always know. If you have sin and bring it to the church, it can hinder and quench the Spirit from working with others. Have you ever left a church service wondering what happened to the Spirit? Did you ever ask yourself, was I the reason the Spirit left? More than likely it was someone else camping out with their sin and trying to hide it from God. God knows and will not work when sin is abound. What good is something that you must hide?

Try the Spirit, Believe not Everything
1 John 3:24-4:6 (Part of the Does He Abide Within? series).
The most important thing to know is if Jesus Christ lives inside you. There seems to be a doctrine for every person out there. They take and change the Word of God for their own agenda. It's good to learn as much as you can of the Word of God but man didn't call men to preach. Only God can call a man out to preach. Some preachers are quiet, some are loud, some are short winded and some long. False prophets are running rampant in this day and time. There are cults on every corner. One doesn't need a doctrine in theology to understand the Word of God. If it doesn't stand up with the Word of God, then don't follow it. We should be open minded because we don't know all of what God has in store for us. A spirit doesn't come without a body. Spirits have to have a body to possess. When one comes to you and tries to pull you in, try its spirit to make sure in lines up with Gods Word. When you run into issues in your life and you always call your pastor with them, you're going to the wrong "friend". You need to seek God and not a friend or preacher for you help all the time. You should learn the Spirit that lives inside you and not believe every single outward spirit you hear. In order to know the false spirits you must have and KNOW you have the Spirit of God living inside you. So how do you know that He lives inside you? First off it's not about a feeling. Just because you've had goosebumps or the hair raised up on your neck doesn't mean that the Holy Spirit lives inside you. Jesus Christ was sent from His Father as a virgin birth and was crucified for our sins and rose on the third day.  If Jesus Christ didn't come to earth in the flesh then the doctrine is false. We encourage you to study the religions and their doctrines for the truth. If their entire doctrine does not line up with with the Son of God coming to earth and being crucified, then it's false and of the antichrist. Don't be troubled by the cults and false doctrines because if you are of Christ, then He is greater than those and lives inside you.

A Thirst For God
Psalm 42:1-11 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
John 7:37 In order to thirst for God we must first be without God. The world provides us a drink but it is not quenching. The world no longer thirsts after God. Do you hunger more for God than you do the things of the world? If you don't love God on Monday then you won't love Him on Sunday. The things that the devil gives does not nurture the soul. If you don't love Jesus then everything else will fall apart. If you go to church for any reason other than you love God, then you're going for the wrong reason. When you eat too much of the world you will begin to get full and no longer hunger for God. Because of the abundance of "church" and freedom we've become uncaring and too comfortable to love God. Wednesday night services is the icing on the cake for our worship. Are you gospel hardened? When times get hard and barren, thank God for it. There are some of us that need to be brought down in order for us to see that God is truly all we need. Pray that God makes you thirsty because if you are thirsty you will hunt for God.
Preached by Tommy Boring on June 18, 2014 (Wednesday).
Too Hard For God
Jeremiah 32:26-27 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Is God capable of doing anything? Do you think God can help you with your trials and tribulations? We struggle with having the faith as small as a mustard seed. Do you think God knows what you're going through. When you get to your lowest, God is about to lift you up. Everything that we do is of God, a reflection. Isaiah 51:1-2 Why are our churches not growing? It's because of us. Mark 6:4-6 Our lack of faith and unbelief is what quenches the Spirit of God.
Preached by Jeff Patton on March 9, 2014 (Sunday Evening).
