Is God the Friend of Sinners?
Luke 7:31-35 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Some take it for granted that you will have another chance to get saved. In order to be saved you must first be convicted of your sin. Do you believe that God is a friend of sinners? God will judge of sin. There is a place that was created that has the opposite of joy and peace where God will not be. It was not created for you but for Satan and his angels. If you deny Jesus Christ you will surely be in the horrible place called Hell. Just because you attend a church or are a member of one doesn't mean that you are born again. Being born again is not about who you're kin to or what someone says. Salvation can not be manufactured under your own will. It doesn't matter where you've been or what you've done, you can still be born again. Some treat salvation as something that you can pick up and lay down only when you need it. Today is the day of salvation. When the Spirit of God moves, that is the time to be born again because only God controls conviction. Repeating a prayer doesn't save a person if the conviction of sin is not there with the drawing from Jesus Christ. One can't save ones self. Just because you read the bible or have a family that attends church or just because you've been baptized doesn't mean that you've been born again. You can't go through your life denying God and then claim Him in the end of your life. God gave us all the ability to make a choice. When God calls you, you WILL know and when He calls, that is the only time, chance that you will have to accept His calling. He only promised to call you one time. Conviction is Devine. When you really get under conviction you won't care what's around you if you really want to be saved.
Preached by Tommy Boring on May 10, 2015 (Sunday Morning).
Bound by Sin
John 11:41-44 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Disobedience to the Word of God is the number one sin in the world today. When Jesus called for Lazarus to come forth, he was still wrapped and wasn't clean. Just as we need to remove the sin, unwrap the sin. It doesn't matter how wrapped up with sin, when Jesus calls, He cleans. How many times have you argued with God about something He's told you to do? Moses argued with God, so did Jonah. How did they turn out? We were all dead in our sins, when Jesus spoke your name, you came out of your grave clothes and were born again. Unless Jesus calls your name, you can't be saved. Do you know what to do when God tells you to do something?
Preached by Steve Whitehead on April 15, 2015 (Wednesday).
God Is Not Your Santa Claus
Romans 12:1-2 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Sometimes we look at God as our benefit and He was created for our use. We usually give Him our leftovers. God has never asked of us that is not too much. Our entire life should be focused on God. You you've been saved, you're not even of yourself. Most of the time we as humans look to bettering ourselves and honoring ourselves. How many times do we tell God what we want? How serious do you take the bible? Just because you do not have a graven image before God doesn't mean that you do not worship other things before God. You should put God before your family, money, job, yourself, children, spouse, etc. Everything that you do that is NOT about God will ALL be burnt up and pass away. If you do not follow God, how are others going to know how to? You should desire to please God because it is what is required and reasonable. Serving God isn't optional. If you are saved, it's not an option. If you do not obey and do what God has called you to do, He will punish you. Do you ever wonder why you do not see Gods power? If you do not put God first, then you've started in the wrong place. We believe that God created everything and controls everything around us and they all obey, but when He gets to us, we say no.
Preached by Lucas Boring on August 18, 2013 (Sunday Evening).
He Still Is!
Exodus 3:1-7 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
The reason why our lives are mundane is because we do not recognize that God has created a great thing. Did you come to see God work? God still is and we have that reason to rejoice in Him. If you are stuck in struggles, He sees and knows about them. God hears what you can't speak. There has never been a time where God has been surprised. God is all knowing. God knows if you are a helper or not, He will not allow an obstacle to be in His way. Today could be your fire in the bush. You can choose to ignore it or stop and recognize it. He sees, He hears and He knows. It's time that if you are saved, one of His, then you need to work.
Preached by Anthony Morgan on April 14, 2013 (Sunday Morning).
Are You Ready To Go?
2 Kings 20:1-5 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
We live like we know as if tomorrow will be there. No one knows when death will come. We all will die and not live. If their is something in your life that needs to be fixed, do it now. Do you have anything in your life that holds you back? Do you expect to die or be incapacitated tomorrow? No one really wants to die, but if its your time to go, you're gone. We all get caught up in our small little selves. When was the last time you wept before God?
Preached by Tommy Boring on December 2, 2012 (Sunday Morning).
