Who's on First?
Colossians 3:1-4 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Put everything behind you and put God first. Does your job come first in your life? How about your family? Do you plan your days out like you are doing them for God? How often do you go through your day and think about God or talk to Him? Why does the church not have the power like it used to have? Because we think now that we can do anything by ourselves, we don't rely on God anymore. We allow other things to get in the way of God.
Preached by Bruce Whitehead on October 29, 2014 (Wednesday).
Maintaining Our Passion For The Lord
Luke 8:14 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
God is the only thing that can give you happiness for eternity. Once God has convicted you it's a horrible feeling to know if you die you'll awake in hell. There is pleasure in sins for just a few days but in the end is death. Once you see your sin and repent, God is happy to receive you back into His arms. The difference between a sinner and a saved is that a sinner has nothing to lean on. A saved person has God to lean on and to ask for help that will never turn them away. How many times will God forgive you? When we were created a soul that lives forever was added to our lives. When we die, that soul will live either in Heaven or in hell. When we pray we are talking to God on a one-on-one basis. When we pray we get answers but sometimes they are not answered the way we think they ought to be. We should pray like it matters not because we feel we have to pray. Has there been anything that God has done good for you? Do we thank God for your health? Are you spoiled and expect more from God? As in football, God never has a bad season, He is ALWAYS the winner. We all have something good to say about God, Share it!
Preached by Matthew Adams on May 18, 2014 (Sunday Evening).
Knowing Is Not Enough
Mark 12:28-34 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
If you deny the existence of God, then you can't believe Him. God is not looking for a blood sacrifice from you. God sent His only son to shed His blood for the ultimate sacrifices. We can do all the good works but if you left God out then it was all in vain. The greatest commandment of all is to love God. If you can't love God with all of your heart, you'll need to evaluate your life. If some called you with a million dollars, would you say, "where do I sign for it"? Is your job more important than God? Would you sell everything you have to follow Him? Do you love God with all of your mind? Do you love God with all of your soul/heart? Do you love God with all of your strength? Are you too tired for God? We are all selfish by nature. Would you charge yourself interest? Why do you loan objects to others expecting them back? How close do you come to God? You can't just know of Him, you MUST have a relationship with Him.
Preached by Tommy Boring on June 23, 2013 (Sunday Evening).
The Ultimate Thirst Quencher
Isaiah 55:1-3 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Don't we as people get burdened down with the things of this life? The more that you love something, the more that you'll want to spend time with that thing. In order to be thirsty, effort must be made. God isn't looking for your money. God isn't looking for your talents or the lack of. If you are born again, you will always have a thirst for God. We spend a lot of time and money on things of this world that doesn't bring satisfaction to the soul. God will not reward you for where you worked in your life. If you divide your love with things and God, you're committing adultery. Don't give God your leftovers.
Preached by Tommy Boring on May 26, 2013 (Sunday Morning).
Spiritually Fit
1 Timothy 4:7-9 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
There are many that have never exercised their faith. Continue to be profitable spiritually. What do you do with your time? Have you done anything for God? You wouldn't run a marathon without preparing yourself for it, therefore you can't work for Christ if you haven't prepped for it.
Preached by Jeff Patton on January 13, 2013 (Sunday Evening).
