Living A Broken Life
Daniel 5:18-22 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
God is able to bring anyone down to a humility. Your pride will take you down. Had can raise a person up and He most certainly can bring them back down. Everyday people let pride stop them from worshipping God. Do you think your life is needed by God for something your capable of doing? David's fall wasn't his lust but his pride that made him think that since he was the king he could have anything he wanted. Pride removed half of Heaven when Lucifer was thrown from it. Guess what kills churches today, pride. How should we live a life without pride? We should live broken, humbled. Phil 2:1-3, this should be our guide in our lives. How many times have you attended church and thought you're doing good. You've read your bible and prayed some during the week. But once you've entered the church and worship begins it tears thru you because of your lack prideful thoughts of thinking you've accomplished something. 1 Peter 5:6, Phil 2:5, stay humble! We are hypocrites because most say that we are good but we are not. Phil 2:6, Jesus was sent to become a human man. He is God incarnate therefore the greatest humility that a God would become a person. Thinking of who was worth Christ's death to remove our sins. Not one person is worth His love. We are to love our neighbor as ourselves. You will never accomplish that while having pride in your life. Money can disappear tomorrow. Your health while good today could turn horrible bad tomorrow.

There Is No Grey Area
2 Thessalonians 1:1-12 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
God is just in ALL that He does. He doesn't have to give us an answer on why He does certain things. Salvation is a personal decision and no one but oneself can accept it. Just because a family member was a good person and attended church or a pastor told you that you were saved doesn't make you saved.

There is an end to those that reject Christ. You can either be with Christ or against Him. The wrath of God will be poured out on the unbelievers. At some point or another each and every person is a wicked person. In order to have the wickedness removed one must be born again.

If you've refused Christ then you will be placed into an eternal separation of God. You will be able to see the goodness but will never experience it. So not only will you be in a fire that will never go out where it constantly licks at your skin but a pain that will never go numb.

Some say that God is a someone that hates but it's the furthest thing from the truth. God took is only son and sacrificed Him to allow a way for ALL to be able to be forever loved.

When you die and reach the God the judge, you will say amen to your own sins. It is a personal Salvation, personal sin and one will answer for their own doings. God knows the length of your days and you or anyone else can not control when it comes.

Preached by Tommy Boring on July 1, 2018 (Sunday Evening).
Pride Breaker
Jonah 4:1-11 (Part of the Communion Services series).
God will take us thru things that will break our pride. Things that break our pride of thinking that we know more than God. Jonah thought he knew better than God even after the thousands repented. Jonah got mad at God when He showed mercy. God had already showed His mercy towards Jonah. We are the same at times when we look at others and think that another doesn't deserve His mercy. Jonah tried to watch what was going to take place after he preached to Ninevah and God took care of him and protected him from the heat. In his prideful arrogance he forgot about what took place and felt that the city should have been destroyed. How often do we go thru troubles and trials of our own making because we won't soften our hearts and do what God has said? Don't let yourself get in the way of Gods mercies. Repent of your sins. Turn away from your sins. How many times do you come to church mad at another person thinking they shouldn't have Gods mercy? All along knowing we NEVER deserved Gods mercies ourself.
Preached by Bruce Whitehead on June 4, 2017 (Communion).
The Pride Before Your Fall
Romans 12:3 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Pride quickly became a problem with Adam and Eve in the beginning of mankind. We are all prideful by nature. Most of the time pride is the motivation that will get us all into trouble. Mat 23:12 Pride can not be in the same room as God. Some think that we have higher rights than another, smarter than another. There is not a single person that smarter than the next nor is there a single person that doesn't struggle with pride. Pride hinders the church from growth, pride stops the humbling towards God. Gods ways are unknown as well as His thoughts. We will never understand Gods thought process so why do we choose to think we know what's best in others and our lives? Pride. As long as pride rules in your life, long suffering, love, compassion and humbling will never have its place in your life. At times, we look at others and get a form of excitement because someone else is having a rough time and we feel as if they deserve it. You'll never love God until you give up on yourself.
Preached by Tommy Boring on April 30, 2017 (Sunday Evening).
Deal With It!
Colossians 3:1-9 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
The truth is the bible whether anyone wants to believe it or not. There are things that we all have problems lining up with. The things that separate us from Christ and the joys that behold Him are worldly and sinful. Col 3:5 We want to excuse ourselves of certain things just because we don't want to deal with those sins. The problem with a living sacrifice is that it keeps squirming and never sits still. We should stop fornicating. Fornication is sex at any measure outside of marriage. Uncleanness is lewd and unclean thoughts and should be repented of. Inordinate affections are vile desires, homosexuality. Evil concupiscence is evil lusts, murder. These four things are fleshly lusts. Covetousness is the lust of the eyes, love of the world. Theses things are often tied to the pride of life, anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, and filthy communication. Anger should always be taken care of and not dwelt on. Wrath is similar to anger and is a product of it. Wrath is somewhat you should have dealt with and usually requires forgiveness of the worldly enemy. Wraths revenge is malice. Blasphemy is speaking evil. The tongue is like the rudder of a large ship, it's small but turns the entire ship. Blasphemy and filthy communication is due to the anger, wrath and malice that comes out verbally. Our speech should be the one thing that when others hear it they know it's of Christ. God hates a lie because it's the opposite of truth. One might think, it's just a little white lie. One should be careful because if it doesn't line up with Gods Word, it's wrong whether you think it was little or not. One of the reasons why we should deal with the above sins, Col 3:6 those things are what a lost person does. If you're saved and do those things then you're living in sin and asking for Gods wrath because you're living a hypocrites life. The saved knows the difference between doing those sinful things and living in Gods love. If a person still wants the old stuff, then your lost. When you're saved you no longer desire the sinful nature because you're a new person in Christ.
