Called To Be
1 Corinthians 1:1-2 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Would a prophet of God write to our church as a church of God? If you are a child of God, then there should be a constant sanctification. Everyone of us are completely different from the other. Not everyone has been called of God. When God calls you and you become saved, God gives you a purpose and calls you to service. You need to understand what your purpose is. God didn't call you to warm the bench. If show no fruit, you'll need to examine your salvation. Just because you do what another Christian does, doesn't mean your a Christian. If your children don't want to attend church, drag them in, once they are saved, they'll want to come. Being on a church roll doesn't mean your getting to heaven and a part of the body of Christ. Being sanctified is a constant working and purifying. Being a saint is not someone, some person declares, it's what God divinely called you to be. A living sacrifices is moving. If you are truly saved, you are a living sacrifices. You are supposed to be holy, a saint unto God. If there is not a consistent desire to draw nearer to God, then who are you truly worshipping? If you live with no guilt or conviction of sin, you're probably not a Christian. To be or not to be, that is the question. According to Christ, a Christian has been called to be a saint.
Preached by Tommy Boring on June 30, 2013 (Sunday Morning).
Unity Through Love
Psalm 133:1-3 (Part of the True Worship series).
The love of God has to be larger than us. Be peace makers amongst each other. Brotherly love goes beyond words. Our purposes are simply temporal, God's purpose is eternal. Who in your life simply gets on your nerves? God knows when you're faking and not. Brotherly love is holy, made up of lowliness, meekness, longsuffering and it is required for worship. If you are not right with your brother than you are unable to worship. Being united goes outside the church.
Preached by Tommy Boring on November 25, 2012 (Sunday Morning).
