Do You Believe?
John 11:20-26 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
We all have an appointed time that we ALL will not pass and that's death. John 3 John speaks of being born again. We usually get caught up in things here that usually do not matter but we never think about the eternity. It's really easy to say, I know who Jesus is. Rom 10:9 One must truly KNOW Jesus in order to know Him. Ask most anyone and they'll claim that there a Christian but there is usually no evidence. People have all kinds of testimonies but there is one thing that should take place and that's Jesus calling your name. One can't hear Jesus until Jesus opens your heart and allows you to know that you're lost. God is not the author of confusion and if you're struggling with possibly being saved, seek God and ask Him about your salvation. We are all going to face death, sickness and struggles. Many times we make salvation hard but it's man that makes it difficult. The simplicity of salvation just believing in Jesus Christ. John 16:29-33 Greater is Who is in you than that, that is in the world. But in order to have Him, you must be born again. Mat 15:13-17 Who do you say who Jesus is Monday thru Saturday? It's life or death! Do you truly KNOW Jesus?
Preached by Jeff Patton on February 22, 2017 (Wednesday).
The Comforter
Ecclesiastes 4:1 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
The world has no comfort and comforter. The Holy Spirit is a great comfort to those that are saved. Only God can give you peace that no one else can. If we hold the comforter in us then we have nothing to fear. The flesh will always have problems and will die but the soul that God gave us will live forever. Every person will fail at some point but God will always be with you and will never fail you. God hasn't changed since the beginning and He's not going to start today. The can't do anything to you once you are one of Gods. Bad things are going to happen in your life but keep your eyes on God. No matter what, it's always good to know that you can always trust and depend on God.
Preached by Matthew Adams on November 23, 2014 (Sunday Evening).
The Difference Maker
1 John 2:3-6 (Part of the Does He Abide Within? series).
People need to know that they know they've been born again. There is a way to know that you've been born again. The way you know if you're different than the lost. You should talk the talk and walk the walk. If you return to the sin of the world then you've not been saved. It's not not about church attendance or customs, it's about falling in love with Jesus. If you you're trying to work your way into Heaven then you're going to miss it. If your motivation to work is to get something in return, you're doing it for the wrong reason. 2 Cor 5:17 Gal 6:7 Whatever you do, it will come back to you. One can't be saved by ones own will, works or wants. The more you come to the house of God then the more you will get from Him. But if you're coming to church just because, then it's just attendance. If you KEEP the Word of God in your heart, it will MAKE you go to church because you WANT Him and LOVE Him. The first two commandments is the key to life and being a Christian. If you Love God with all of your heart then you'll love your neighbor with all of your heart. You can't have it both ways and love two masters. Your words can say all day that you are saved, but what lies inside is what matters. 2 Cor 5:15 When we are truly born again, we will no longer walk like we walked before because we are a new creature.
Preached by Tommy Boring on September 10, 2014 (Wednesday).
Desire + Will = ?
John 14:12-16 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
There is one thing in a Christians life that can't be done enough and that's prayer. Before one can be born again, one must pray. When we pray, we should pray in Gods will. We should always ask what Gods will is in our lives. We should be willing to do what God tells us to do. Nothing that we do is good unless it's through Gods will. We need more help today than we have ever needed. We need to stop asking God to do them and start asking God what He wants us to do. What is Gods will? 2 Peter 9 His will is to seek those that are lost. God wants our very best and not our leftovers. God asks us to lay down our lives as a living sacrifice. That means we need to give it ALL. We are naked before God. We might be able to hide the sins from our neighbors but God sees each and every sin. John 16:23-24 Do you have joy in your prayer? It's a blessing that we get to go to Gods throne room and ask Him directly for our loved ones. John 15:7-10 We don't have power in our prayers because we choose to do what we want to. John 15:16 We should show fruit of that of a Christian to those around you. What could happen if Gods desire plus Gods will could equal to?
Preached by Jeff Patton on April 23, 2014 (Wednesday).
A Better Day Cometh
(Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Suffering is just for a little while for Christians, while we are here on earth. This too shall pass. When the going gets tough, stand still. Has God ever failed you? There is a day coming that all sin and suffering will end. Our greatest enemy is not satan or the devil, it's ourselves, the flesh. No one has to be taught how to be greedy, lie, kill or hate. We may pass through a valley down here but there is always a mountain top to come. Don't strive to go home because it hard. God is faithful. We may all suffer a horrible death, suffering before we leave this world. But once death occurs our promise as Christians is an eternity of no suffering. Don't focus on the problem at hand, focus on the result that God will give.
Preached by Tommy Boring on February 19, 2014 (Wednesday).
