A Life Of Prayer
Daniel 6:10 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Daniel's practice was a life of prayer. It was the one thing that others could depend on was Daniel to pray. The second thing about Daniel was his house. His house was a place of prayer. This doesn't have to be an actual house. Luke 6 tells us about Jesus praying all night long on a mountain. At this time He was praying about calling 12 men that would be His followers as disciples. Is your house a place of prayer? If the church is the only place where you can get close to God then that's a sad thought. The third is that he opened up his windows that was towards Jerusalem. He wasn't ashamed for those to hear him prayer. How many have a problem praying at your own dinner table? We shouldn't be afraid or ashamed to pray. 1 Kings 8:46-50, Daniel was praying according to scripture. What's your Jerusalem? God doesn't dwell in Jerusalem nor in the temple or church house. God dwells within you if you've been born again. The fourth, he kneeled upon his knees. This means he was humbled, broken and at Gods will. If you're really wanting to affect things then you're going to have to be humbled. For Daniel just for as us, we should not let the ups and downs affect our prayers. Five, Daniel knew he was going to be thrown into a lions den and yet he continued to give thanks unto God. When it comes to praying we should not ask for something until we've given thanks to Him first. Daniel didn't know if God would deliver him or not but he still thanked God anyway. Are you bitter because you feel as if God didn't do it your way? God has never made a bad decision. Gods never messed anything up. The joy of having God is that you don't have to worry about finding a pastor or a friend in your very time of need. God is always there, always listening, and always loving.

Our Lifeline, Prayer
Daniel 6:1-10 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
While examining yourself, how often do you pray to God? Churches often have a revival once or twice a year but, while these revivals are good they do not last. We should have an internal revival daily within ourselves. Our human flesh does not want to humble itself to God. Most of the times we find ourselves on top of the mountain and not praying. We all need God on the mountain tops the same as in the valleys. How do you help people see the need they need? It's hard enough to see it in ourselves. Often in our lives the things around us are brought upon by disasters that happen around us. Most Wednesday night services were started because of the wars our country were in to pray for our loved ones and the countries safety. What's to be expected if we fully give ourselves to prayer? You may not be able to do a lot of things but the one thing that each and every person can do is pray. Do you truly care for the people around you? We must be honest when it comes to the works that we should be doing. We often say, "that's not my job", "they're not my family", etc. There have been great revivals in history. Simple men standing and proclaiming God to hundreds if not millions of lost and saved alike. Great revivals are not dictated on the time they were because great revivals have been going on since biblical times.

Components of Prayer
Daniel 6:10 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
  1. We must pray in the Holy Ghost.
  2. We must commit to prayer. One must make a commitment to God before they can commit to praying to Him. Real prayer takes a commitment, a sacrifice from something else in order to keep the commitment. We as a fleshly person do not want to have or make another commitment. Have you committed to God a time and a place? Does prayer work? How many of you commit to prayer? Most don't commit meaning they are hypocrites because they believe in the power of prayer but unwilling to pray.
  3. We must find a place to pray. One can't pray with things happening around you, distractions. You must have a oneness with God. One can't read a book and pray too. One can't watch or have the tv on and pray at the same time. The flesh is weak and is easily distracted.
  4. The attitude of prayer needs to be humbling. Pride is the number one problem. Pride will tell you that you just prayed yesterday. We must also live righteously. One can't live like the devil today and tomorrow pray like nothing ever happened yesterday. If one has acknowledged sin in their heart then God will not hear them when they pray.
  5. Daniel committed to prayer three times a day because he had read that David committed to prayer morning, noon and night. The quantity is not what's important now, it's the quality. Effectual prayer is what's needed.

The Writing on the Wall
Daniel 5:16-31 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
The reward of this world means nothing. If a man gained the entire world but lost his soul, what would it profit him. Three Hebrew words: MENE: God had numbered his life. Just as then, your days are numbered. You are here today but gone tomorrow. Your life is but a vapor compared to eternity. Death to all is coming. You will not live forever. It doesn't matter of your age, when it's your time to die, you will die. Doctors can not keep you alive forever. You've heard it all your life that you're going to die but you don't do anything about it. You're going to die, you're going to die. TEKEL: You will be judged after your death. Hebrews 9:27 We will all be judged at death. 1 Corinthians 3 Your life will either be worldly or Godly. The worldly life will all burn away into ash but the Godly life will be purified as precious metals. If you've been born again, you're not dead. If you're lost you will stand in front of the book of life to only show that your name is not in it. PERES: After your judgement you will either go to one of two places, heaven or hell. Knowing someone that is saved doesn't mean your saved. Your mamaws salvation will not get you into heaven. Salvation is a personal thing. If you are not saved, you will live forever in hell. Likewise, if you're born again your eternal life will be spent in heaven. One doesn't have to go to heaven but you can't stay here. You don't have to go to hell. In hell you will be in a party with your friends. You will be isolated, all alone in many torments. Where the flames never die and the pain will be forever.

The Sovereignty of God
Daniel 4:27-37 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Have you ever tried to grasp God? He is omnipotent. He created all. He is the King of kings. Yet we try everyday to take the control away from God. We say we believe that God is in control of everything and yet won't give Him full control of our lives. When it comes to our prayers we always shortchange God. Our prayers are weak and are manipulated by Satan. Psalm 118:1 God is always good. Either God is in full control or He's not. Regardless whether you understand why God allows certain things doesn't make God wrong and not in control. Our faith is not on the physical but of the spiritual. Most have experienced bad things in our lives but, God is always God through it all. In all things gives thanks. God is not worried about the upcoming elections. Nothing that the devil does surprises God. Nothing sneaks up on God. Romans 8:28 Everything works out for the good of God and will never fail us that are one of His.
