Dining With God
John 12:1-3 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
|Gal 2:22, Christ lives in us if you've been saved. Hopefully when you've come to the house of God you've prepared to dine with God. There are times that the meal that God has prepared isn't as sweet as we think it should be. We shouldn't turn our nose up to it as its good for us. John 6:35, God is the bread of life. When one comes to eat, Christ will satisfy. Family is good but Gods family is so much better. They work when no one is watching and uplifts others in Christ thru Christ and their obedience.
Worship is a must. Some of us get out of worship but we find ourselves down and needing to go back to worship. Sometimes we think we can do it ourselves, but we can't.
Salvation is the best thing from the meal. Have you ever seen someone else's salvation and their excitement? If a Christian denies Christ then you will become a stumbling block to others.
Martha is hospitable. Martha was a busy and was serving others. God blessed her with a gift of serving others. You should be welcoming as Martha when it comes to your church. She was practical, straight to the point. We should be to the point when it comes to sharing Christ with others. We shouldn't speak with words of great elegance only to confuse those that don't understand them.
Mary was a humble person. She was one of the first ones to the tomb of Christ. Mary was usually always found at the feet of Jesus. John 20:16, referred to Jesus as her Master. She was filled with 7 Devils when Jesus met her to which He promptly removed, Mark 1:22-24. 1 John 5:8, what God gives nothing can take away. We should be in great awe of what He does.
Lazarus sat at the table with Jesus the one that had just raised him from the dead. Just imagine what he would have thought. While Martha and Mary served Jesus and the table while Lazarus sat and thought of the one that raised him. John 17:1

Bound by Sin
John 11:41-44 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Disobedience to the Word of God is the number one sin in the world today. When Jesus called for Lazarus to come forth, he was still wrapped and wasn't clean. Just as we need to remove the sin, unwrap the sin. It doesn't matter how wrapped up with sin, when Jesus calls, He cleans. How many times have you argued with God about something He's told you to do? Moses argued with God, so did Jonah. How did they turn out? We were all dead in our sins, when Jesus spoke your name, you came out of your grave clothes and were born again. Unless Jesus calls your name, you can't be saved. Do you know what to do when God tells you to do something?

Isaiah 41:10 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Thinking about all the things that can happen in the past year. Trouble, joy, hardship but uplifting. Through all of it, God is there. The one thing that is common with all of us is help. There are some things that each of us can help each other with, but God said, "I will help thee". When it comes to death, no one on this earthly side can't get you into heaven. Psalm 3:2 There are a lot of doubters in this world. Don't be doubtful, let God help you. Many people want to live in the world of self help. Psalm 22:11 Out of all of our fears, God will comfort. Psalm 42:5 There are people that suffer because they do not look to God for His guidance. Psalm 46:1 When we are in troubles, ask God for His refuge and strength. Psalm 50:11 Man can not help when it's Gods place to. The first step is to admit you've got a problem that you can't fix. Psalm 37:40 There are some things that can help you, but the lack of trust will keep you from getting the help. Not everyone will reach for help. To be saved or to get help, we must first trust God. Mark 9:23 There is not anything that God can't do. Psalm 33:20 Sometimes we must wait and have patience on Gods timing. Psalm 109:26 Sometimes we just need to say it. Hebrews 13:6

Do You Stink?
John 11:1-44 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
We were in terrible shape before God saved us. We were in a state of death, rotten and stinking with sin. When something begins to die it begins to rot and turn corrupt. When Christ called us from sin He called us into a new body that will never die or corrupt with death. You can never go too far in sin for God to call you from it. Lazarus was dead and beginning to rot. We were in in the same condition before Christ saved us. We had no hope of living without Christ saving us from death. When Jesus saved you, He did it eternally, forever His. He changes you from death to life. If you could really grasp what God has done for us, we would ugly worship Him and thank Him. It's better to be saved than to be healthy. Your health, wealth and the name you've made doesn't matter at judgment. Jesus knew before He was called to see Lazarus. In our own lives, we wonder and ask, where is God? God works in His own time not ours. He has everything worked out for the glory of His name. Stop thinking you know what your plan is in this world.
