How To Be Happy
Psalm 1:1-6 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
|What's going on in our world right now? Just a few years ago folks loved to worship God and couldn't wait to worship God and depending on God for everything. The devil has come to steal, kill and destroy. For all of us there is two parts to us, a flesh and a spiritual. Blessed is the man that doesn't walk with the world. Satan doesn't want us to tell anyone about the goodness of God or invite folks or even yourself to church. So how can a man or woman be happy? There is only one thing that can make one happy. Which would you rather have, something that's temporary or something that's eternal?

Luke 15:11-14 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
|A lot of us want things that we think we are owed. We were owed death and hell but God seen otherwise. Some of us question Gods word for us and think we know better. There is a place in your heart that needs filled and during your life you'll try to put things in that hole to try to fill it. Nothing in this world will ever fill that void. Jesus is the ONLY thing that's able to fill that void and He will never leave that void once it's filled with Him. Repeating a prayer, having a prayer prayed over you by the pastor or having your name on a church membership doesn't make you saved or fill that void. If you think you've struck a deal with God that gives you the ability to do what you want (sin) then you've been badly mistaken. You're in the wrong. God has a plan for everyone, it's just a matter of accepting His call in your life. If you avoid His call, He will try to get your attention. Sometimes it takes a lot, sometimes it takes very little to grab your attention. A lot of times folks are scared of what you'll have to give up once you turn your life over to God. God will never leave you and if He calls you, He WILL carry you thru whatever He's called you to do. What God has done for us is just beautiful. We ALL fall short of the Holiness of Gods Glory but repentance and forgiveness gets us closer and closer. When you ask for forgiveness and you get that forgiveness, God doesn't hold it over you but in fact gives the feasts of feasts because He loves you.
If there is someone that thinks that Hell is just a big party and not that it of deal, they're completely in the wrong. Hell is to be feared and there will never be a "party" but torments and a fire that will never burn up the flesh and will never cease.

Are You Doing Your Best? (Part 5)
2 Peter 3:11-18 (Part of the 2 Peter 3 series).
One can compare themselves to others, preachers, friends and family. Can you honestly say that you're doing your best for God? Do you believe the word of God? Almost all church members say they believe the word of God. The scripture says that whatever you do, do it the best that you can do. We mostly put more effort into worldly items. God's Word clearly says that we can do all things through Him, so why do we keep making excuses as to why we can't do something for Him? People attend church for various reasons, one is because it's just something one does on Sunday's. But God knows why you attended and where your heart is during the service. 1 Cor 2:4; Col 6:4, if you know God is coming back how should your conversations be? Just thinking back in the past week, was your actions, words and willingness of God? There are many people that really work but they work for the check. They never do their very best, just enough to get the paycheck. What type of person should you be knowing that God is coming back? The answer is the very best you can be. The problem is that you don't want to "pay" to do your best. All around us we have people that are addicted to this world in one way or another. Just getting by for Christ will not persuade a persons addiction. But not only that, if you don't give your best, you've made a choice to sin. Is it ok for the preacher to live any way they'd want to live? Why? God expects just as much from a church member as He does a preacher.

Dead Man Walking
Ephesians 2:1-7 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
What is a dead man walking? A zombie. What does it feel like to be lost? Being lost means you are dead, spiritually. All those that walk dead have a set agenda and that agenda is the world. Not only are they walking according to the world but they are walking according to satan. Satan knows that if he can bring you down and destroy your testimony, you'll leave the lost alone. Everyday death certificates are being signed of those that are dead physically. The devil knows exactly what to do to destroy people whether it be by addiction, murderer, stealing, etc. People are physically dying every second and facing an eternity of either heaven or hell. At times we look at others and think we can't help them. Being dead can not be fixed by asking someone for help, reading a self help book or even attending a church. When you think of a zombie, how do they behave? They walk, no true emotion, no care. The only one that can change and bring a dead person alive is God. So what can the living do about those that are lost? Expose the light of God to them. A person that has been saved used to be a dead lost person. A saved person is alive in Christ while a lost person is dead with satan.

No Jesus, No Peace. Know Jesus, Know Peace
Romans 5:1-5 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Often when we speak of salvation we think of earthly peace. But the truth of salvation is being saved means that we have peace with salvation. Having the peace of God is not having peace on this earth, it's about an eternal and spiritual peace. Having spiritual peace can't be removed. Romans 16:31 When we don't have worldly peace, we being saved have eternal peace. The life of a good faithful Christian is a hard road and life to live. There may come a time in your life when turmoil will come and all you've got left is to call out to God. God is the only peace that will never leave. When we have Jesus as our savior, we have a fellowship and a friendship. He doesn't see your unworthiness when He looks at your salvation. He sees His son and the blood that covers your sin. Once we've been saved, your always saved because we didn't save ourselves, God did.
