|Luke 22:39-48 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).|
|Everyday there are temptations. No matter how holy one tries they are always tempted to do wrong to fall away. We walk thru agony here on earth but if you're saved you'll leave that all behind. We should all pray earnestly, fervently for our lost to be saved and for us to stay away from temptation. We all fall into worldly pleasures because none of us are perfect as Christ was.|

|Living A Broken Life|
|Daniel 5:18-22 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).|
|God is able to bring anyone down to a humility. Your pride will take you down. Had can raise a person up and He most certainly can bring them back down. Everyday people let pride stop them from worshipping God. Do you think your life is needed by God for something your capable of doing? David's fall wasn't his lust but his pride that made him think that since he was the king he could have anything he wanted. Pride removed half of Heaven when Lucifer was thrown from it. Guess what kills churches today, pride. How should we live a life without pride? We should live broken, humbled. Phil 2:1-3, this should be our guide in our lives. How many times have you attended church and thought you're doing good. You've read your bible and prayed some during the week. But once you've entered the church and worship begins it tears thru you because of your lack prideful thoughts of thinking you've accomplished something. 1 Peter 5:6, Phil 2:5, stay humble! We are hypocrites because most say that we are good but we are not. Phil 2:6, Jesus was sent to become a human man. He is God incarnate therefore the greatest humility that a God would become a person. Thinking of who was worth Christ's death to remove our sins. Not one person is worth His love. We are to love our neighbor as ourselves. You will never accomplish that while having pride in your life. Money can disappear tomorrow. Your health while good today could turn horrible bad tomorrow.|

|Stay Away From Evil Things|
|1 Thessalonians 5:16-22 (Part of the The Need For Christian Duties series).|
|People don't want to hear this saying anymore. People want to live the way they want to, however they want and whenever they want. Once you're born again you are no longer yourself but holy. How many of you have damaged your testimony because you've messed with something that you know you shouldn't had? Did you know that people are watching you whether you want them to or not? To some people the only "bible" they know is thru your life. Staying away from evil cramps people's style.
Let's just be honest for just a minute, look in the mirror and you should see a person that has problems with staying away from evil. One of the hardest things to do is to control the tongue. The scripture doesn't just apply to the preachers or deacons. It was addressed to ALL Christians.
It's very difficult to get a persons confidence back after it's been lost. You're the one that the lost is watching and taking note on your actions. Christians have been pulled out of the world and therefore shouldn't be IN the world. The lost are constantly looking for hypocrites.
One must prove it first to make sure it's of a Godly nature. Do the "smell test". Stop and take the time to evaluate prior to doing them. There is no grey area when it comes to right or wrong. The grey area is created by us that wants to feel good about doing something wrong, therefore it would classified as wrong. The power of the church is based upon the faithfulness or life of its members. Phil 4:8, there are things that should be done in front of the lost.
One can't unscramble the eggs or put the toothpaste back into the tube. What do you do if you've messed things up with your testimony/life? Change, there is an expectation that each time you attend church there should be a change. When we change the lost will see it and want to know what's the difference. We should apologize to them for acting out wrong.

|Righteousness (Part 2)|
|Romans 10:1-10 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).|
|Deut 30 references Rom 10:5. One must complete the law in its entirety. No one has been able to keep the law perfectly therefore we are guilty. The works of the flesh will not be accepted as a payment into Heaven. Jesus Christ would have never been sent as a sacrifice if there was another way into Heaven. Do you think you're a good person? If you're trying to get into Heaven by any other way but by Jesus Christ then you're creating a self righteous religion that will get you into Hell. There is a way that seems right but it WILL lead to death, Hell. How many people go to the doctor if they are well? Likewise, how many people will go to Jesus when everything seems to be going good? Most people judge their relationship with Christ by watching others. If that person lives just as good as they do then everything just be ok.
Perfection is the only thing that will go to Heaven. There is not a single person that has mastered perfection. What makes a person perfect is by accepting Christ as their savior. Who in their right mind would say that they would rather go to Hell than to Heaven? Christ has already done everything He can to allow you to go to Heaven.
So how do you get saved? There is one thing required and that's to believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins, Rom 10:9-10;13.

|Righteousness (Part 1)|
|Romans 10:1-10 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).|
|If you ask anybody if they would go to Heaven, most would say yes that they would. Most are not even saved but think they're good enough to get into Heaven. The prayer should be for those that are lost to be saved. In order for soul to be saved it must know that it's lost. We live in a culture that think they are moral and good and do not think they need God. Prov 30:12 does this not sound like we are living in this generation? Visiting an altar does not make one saved. Church attendance will not make one saved.
It's very important that you look at yourself in the mirror and make sure that your sins are taken care of with God. Self is usually at the heart of the sin. Those that go around establishing how righteous they are, are like white sepulchers. The outsides look and seem beautiful but on the inside they are full of death, rotting flesh and bones. Self righteousness is for what? What does it gain you to be self righteous? We are born into a self righteous body that we all struggle with. If you don't think there is a problem then that's one of your problems. Simply looking at church attendance and comparing the numbers for each service will quickly explain a self righteous attitude they people do not need to worship or repent. 2 Cor 10:12 comparing us to the dung, waste of cattle - farmers look at the waste in order to make sure they are healthy and eating correctly. In the end, it's still dung, waste. One pile of dung is just the same as another pile of dung just the same as one person is just a human the same as the next.
