Dining With God
John 12:1-3 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
|Gal 2:22, Christ lives in us if you've been saved. Hopefully when you've come to the house of God you've prepared to dine with God. There are times that the meal that God has prepared isn't as sweet as we think it should be. We shouldn't turn our nose up to it as its good for us. John 6:35, God is the bread of life. When one comes to eat, Christ will satisfy. Family is good but Gods family is so much better. They work when no one is watching and uplifts others in Christ thru Christ and their obedience.
Worship is a must. Some of us get out of worship but we find ourselves down and needing to go back to worship. Sometimes we think we can do it ourselves, but we can't.
Salvation is the best thing from the meal. Have you ever seen someone else's salvation and their excitement? If a Christian denies Christ then you will become a stumbling block to others.
Martha is hospitable. Martha was a busy and was serving others. God blessed her with a gift of serving others. You should be welcoming as Martha when it comes to your church. She was practical, straight to the point. We should be to the point when it comes to sharing Christ with others. We shouldn't speak with words of great elegance only to confuse those that don't understand them.
Mary was a humble person. She was one of the first ones to the tomb of Christ. Mary was usually always found at the feet of Jesus. John 20:16, referred to Jesus as her Master. She was filled with 7 Devils when Jesus met her to which He promptly removed, Mark 1:22-24. 1 John 5:8, what God gives nothing can take away. We should be in great awe of what He does.
Lazarus sat at the table with Jesus the one that had just raised him from the dead. Just imagine what he would have thought. While Martha and Mary served Jesus and the table while Lazarus sat and thought of the one that raised him. John 17:1

The Price of Love
Ruth 1:8-14 (Part of the Ruth 1 series).
God teaches us to love others but we often find that it's easier to love someone that wants to be loved. Those that are going through a difficult time, those that love back, those that seem to care are much easier to love. God commanded us to love the hated, the unloved, our enemies, sinners and saints alike. We all have the ability to love thru Gods love. Is there something great about you? People should see and feel Gods love thru you. Do they feel it? You realize that to love someone it will cost you? We will have to give when we can't, we will serve others before ourselves. When it's hardest to love, that's when it's most important.
