What Are You Clinging To?
Mark 8:32-37 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
How many times have you told God no? Are you saved? If you're lost then you can't understand Gods Word. The work of the devil is to take the truth of God and make it a lie. Satan has not changed since the beginning, he still wants to defeat God. When one stands against the word of God then they are doing what the devil wants to do. Their isn't anything worse in this world other than being lost, not believing in Jesus Christ. Those horrible actions in the world are all sins but all can be forgiven. If one dies lost without forgiveness then they will open their eye being in hell. Do you really want to be committed to God? Why do we all want things our way so bad that we reject Gods way? Gods way is of faith, things usually not seen. The reasons you don't want Gods way is because you love the world, yourself more than God. If you're saved, live it! Do you have a problem fornicating, cussing, drinking, opening your bible, attending church, doing what God says? Check your "salvation"! Mark 8:34 You must deny yourself and get ready to suffer if you're a Christian, saved. If one has a problem following God, they are probably not saved. One must deny themselves completely, daily, suffer and follow Christ. "He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose." -Jim Elliot Mark 8:35 If one wants external life, they must let theirs go. If one could have everything they ever wanted from this world, money, love from others, fancy cars, large house, the best health, in the end of your life you die. None of those things will go with them. So in the end, what matters the most, the worldly needs or the eternal needs?

Go Back If You Can
Ruth 1:15-18 (Part of the Ruth 1 series).
What are you holding onto? Religion, family, church, etc but none of that will save you from hell. The attendance to a church will not matter in the end. The only thing that will matter is why you were or not in attendance. Matthew 8, If you love your parents more than God, they have become your god. Luke 9, Jesus did not say we should not care for our families but to make sure that the motive isn't worshiping them. Some are holding onto something that will drag them straight to hell. You just let go of it and turn to God. Luke 17, Lots wife turned back because she couldn't let her sin go. If you make a choice to follow Christ (Salvation) then you've made a decision to never turn your back on Him. 2 Peter 2, One can NOT keep themselves saved. If it's of their own "salvation" they will soon turn to what they truly are, a sinner that is lost. Will you stay with Jesus? Who are the people of God? People fall all the time but there is a difference in falling and going back. Falling means you'll get back up, going back means you never had it to begin with. Joshua 24:14-15

Let's Be Honest
Ruth 1:8-14 (Part of the Ruth 1 series).
We could all go through life with distractions that cause us to follow our own desires. We often allow the things of the world to run our lives. Be honest about why you attend church. What's the purpose of attending? Their are some that have sold out to Christ and attend on a regular basis, but then there are the others. We have services three times a week. Many make a claim that they are Christians but it's because of the worlds view. Church attendance can't save a person. Being baptized will not make you saved. Having your name on a church register can not save a person. There is not a single person that can cause a person to be saved, only Christ can. A person can introduce someone to Christ but salvation only occurs when Christ bares witness with the lists soul. Do you remember being lost? Do you remember the feeling of Christ's voice as He spoke to you? You can either be lost or saved, there is not an in between. Getting saved is by invitation only, one can't just decide to be saved. One day you will look into the eyes of Christ and will have no excuses for your life. In our church God speaks through the people, songs, prayers, and preachers.

Stick To It!
Psalm 119:25-32 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
There are times when one feels like they are closer to the dust of the earth than the height of the sky. We are down and depressed and feel worthless. But we should call on God to lift us up and it will if we ask. We should always confess our sins to God and ask for forgiveness. We should stay teachable before God. Some can remember entire songs, poems and even quotes but if we can't remember the bible there is a problem in our life. We should have a desire to be taught by God and to surrender to Him. We should ask God to remove the lies from our minds. The lies that the enemy whispers to us and we believe them. We are all liars. If we don't lie to others we often lie to ourselves. There comes a time when you'll have to chose your path and commit to it.
Preached by Tommy Boring on August 30, 2015 (Sunday Evening).
So What's Your Plan?
John 10:6-11 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Most say they pray but do they really? Are you praying the right way? When you have that intimate time with God in prayer, is your closet clean? The devil will often tell us that our little prayers are just good enough. But, the truth is, we are not engaged and are not fighting. So what's the big deal on not praying or engaging ourselves in the war? Souls, lost souls are in the balance. The story has been told over and over because people will not listen. The problem is not sin, it's because people refuse to let God work. There is NO other way to heaven but through Jesus Christ, none. The enemy has a plan in place already, do you? We are all guilty of pride and selfishness. We find ourselves that way because we choose to listen to the enemy. A robber is someone that takes things with force that does not belong to them. A thief is someone that take things by manipulation. When something in your life needs prayer you will shut your life down to pray for that need. But when we hear of someone else's prayer we just speak a prayer and we go on with our regular life. There is never a day that goes by that we are not a sinner. It's a privilege to pray corporately but the devil says it's ok to just sit back. The worst thing for a Christian to be is satisfied. Faith doesn't mean anything until it's been worked. Satan can only be in one place at one time, but he has many demons, helpers. Satan himself was thrown out of heaven because he was prideful but we think we can get away with it daily. Have you fully surrendered your life to God? The enemy will tell you that as long as your life, family and health is ok, everything is alright. If you think you don't need to change, then that's one of your biggest problems.
