Are You Trying To Please God?
2 Corinthians 5:8-10 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
God is watching and He cares how you walk, talk, dress and act. We know that God can be pleased by our doings but just as He can be pleased He can also be displeased. He co trolls everything in our lives including our breath. It should be our top priority to please God with everything we do. Can you say that you've got the promise of God that you've been saved? Just because you've been promised a heavenly rest doesn't mean you'll have pain to go thru down here. While we are here we should labor and labor hard for God. God has given us that are saved blessings in order to bring forth a harvest. The only thing you have to give is what God gave you. In the end of time there will be a judgement of the good and bad. But there is a judgement for the lost, the wicked, the dead that the saved will not be apart of. The judgement for the children of God requires a reward ceremony for the good things we had done for God while here. Your works whether good or bad will not keep you out of heaven because your salvation is the only way into heaven and can not be taken away. God is not confused with whether you're lost or saved and has trusted you with His talents. What have you done with them?

An Attitude of Gratitude
Ephesians 5:8-20 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Giving thanks always for all things. There are some things we don't give thanks for cause we don't like them. So how can you give thanks for all things even the bad? We must understand and know that nothing touches us without it being ok'd by God first. Widows that's lost their loved ones that still lift their hands to say that God has been so good to them. There is plenty to complain about in this world in the flesh. There isn't a person that has not suffered. Those that suffer and are Christians discover that God helps them and is present in the sorrow. The lost will suffer alone and without God's help. Our problem is that we are afraid of Gods finest because it requires sorrow, purification and trials. But through them all, God is their and in full control. All things work to the goodness of God. The good stuff isn't usually just laying on the surface. What would you do if something bad happens to you? Prepare yourself for those things to happen. Put all your trust in the Lord.

Are You Just Running or Running to Win? (Part 1)
2 Peter 1:1-3 (Part of the 2 Peter 1 series).
Your opinion doesn't matter when it comes to what God knows. When you learn the wrong thing, it will lead you down the wrong path. The world can not show or teach you peace. Being saved means that for all of us that are saved have a commonality. We've all came thru the same Jesus Christ and nothing else. Being good will not get you to Salvation. No ones salvation is better than the next. Preacher's salvation isn't any stronger than a lay member. How many excuses can you think of when God simply asks you to do something? What's your agenda for attending church or listening to this sermon? Why do we settle for "alright" salvation. We have zero excuses to sit down on God. Romans 10:13 plainly states that you should simply ask to be born again but Romans 10:14 says but how can they ask if they haven't heard of Jesus Christ. Those of us that are called, saved, have every second of our lives to share Jesus to the lost. Did you know that you can do ANYTHING that God wants? The problem is that we limit ourselves through excuses. Psalms 119:27 we shouldn't be afraid of what God wants us to do. Has He not already called you to do something great? Some of us are bound by our doubts. One of the greatest sins of the saved is omission. The omission of showing Jesus Christ to the lost around us and living like Jesus Christ lives within us. There are those that no matter what's going on around them, they are happy, always. Why is that, that one could be happy no matter what? They have Jesus that lives within them and holds all peace and happiness. Phil 3:8, 1 Tim 3:4 do you think God wants you to know what's in His book? God has called us to glory and virtue. One can't produce Spiritual fruit if you're not Spiritual or saved. But if you are saved you should always be bearing Spiritual fruit.

A Bright Future
Revelation 19:1-9 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
It seems that with every turn of the world today that Christians are persecuted worse and worse. If we are saved we shall open our eyes after death and be in a place that will have no sadness, grief, tears, pain or death. We sometimes get stuck in today's sorrow and depression but hold tight till the end. Our bodies are currently sinful and we struggle with it on a daily basis here on earth. In heaven our bodies are made holy and then are worthy to enter into His throne room. Rev 22:1-21 God sent His angel to tell us what to expect in Heaven. Make sure that you're saved because there will be no second chances after Jesus comes back to get saved, it will be too late. Don't let the worlds sins get you down. Just keep your eyes on Jesus and what is in store for us that's saved. Stop worrying about what the world is doing, just do what God has told you to do. Serve the one that has control over life and death. Being a Christian should be a happy life. God gives us blessings that we don't even deserve. Be happy for those blessings.

Sweeping it Under the Rug
1 John 2:26-29 (Part of the Does He Abide Within? series).
A sad place for a Christian to be is when God will not hear one. Sin is to blame for falling away. It doesn't matter what you want to call sin, if it goes against Gods Word then it's sin. It doesn't matter how old or how big you are, God has a work in you but unless you repent and rid yourself of the sin, God can't work. We have a teacher that sows us how to live our Christian lives. Just let God live in you! There is no excuse for allowing sin in a Christians life. It's never too late for a Christian to repent. Man has justified sin through their own lust. If you've been born again, there is a power within you that will hold you true. There is a time coming when Jesus WILL return to take His children home. That second coming will also bring a terror of judgement on those left behind. God knows where we are in our lives, He's not surprised by our sin and lifestyles. Those that are saved are saved eternally and can NOT lose their salvation because we do not hold our salvation. Those that are saved will be judged on that day on the second coming. Be confident in Christ and not just "happy that you'll get in" to Heaven. Having confidence in God means that you repent of those sins that you've made. How horrible it would be to stand before God ashamed because of an unrepentant heart/sin. 1 John 3:15 An assurance as a Christian is when God intercedes for our weeping of prayers. We as Christians should be looking for Him, ready in your heart and prayed up. 1 John 3:20-21 There are people today that can't forgive themselves of a horrible sin.  Satan is the author of confusion and therefore causes it with forgiveness. Satan doesn't want you to grow with Christ. In order to be right with God, you MUST be forgiven through repentance. 1 John 4:17 Since we didn't have to pay the price for sin, we have no value for it. But we need to have confidence in that payment. Love God with ALL of your heart and that means to repent so there is NO barrier between you and Him. If you are able to live your life with no consequences, then your not one of His.
