Work It Out!
Philippians 2:8-13 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Christ is the boss in a Christians life. At the name of Jesus Christ everything will bow and confess that HE IS LORD. Until one understands first that Christ is lord over all you'll never understand the next part. One must work out their own salvation with fear and trembling. No other thing will one answer to but Christ Himself. One can not work to their salvation. Too many people once they hit a road block they just lay it to the side and stop. One can't work out someone else's but only their own. If God has given you 5 things to do, He expects you to work on those 5 things and nothing less and nothing more. If you've been born again then you have at least one talent that should be worked.

Lip Service
James 2:14-23 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
There's a difference between saying and doing. There are many people that are willing to make the statement that they believe that Jesus is the son of God. On top of that is that there are those that will pat those people on the back and tell them that they are alright with God. Having your name on the church books doesn't give one more faith or make one saved. Some today say it all day long that they believe but nothing to prove it. There is a difference between saying it and doing it. Their are pastors that tell there congregants that all they have to do is simply say it and they'll be saved. "Repeat after me..." We still live in a society that state they're saved but have no true evidence of such. Getting saved is not anything that a preacher does but an operation that is done by Christ Himself. Just because you tell the devil to flee means nothing because it's the Holy Spirit that causes the devils to leave. Not everyone that says Lord, Lord will be in Heaven. Matt 7:22-23, Have we not done wonderful things in your name? Jesus Christ loves you and does not want you to go to Hell. Make sure you're saved! Even the Devils and Satan say they believe in God but as we all now they are ALL destined for Hell. The Holy Spirit MUST reveal unto you that you're lost before you can be saved. You can go thru the motions, say all the right things but if Christ hasn't invited and revealed to you then you're wasting your time and hurting others. James 2:23, Abraham said he believed God. But God tested him and thru his works/faith it was shown that he truly was a "Friend of God". Is you're faith real? Has it stood the test of time? Has it wavered? Is it your faith alone and not someone else's?

The Crown That We Will Receive
2 Timothy 4:6-8 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Most of the time we try prep for what's coming. We often go to the grocery store to purchase groceries because we must prep for an upcoming meal. In our human bodies we all know that there is an end coming, death. We must prepare for that day just as we prepared for the upcoming meal. The difference is that we don't know when death will come. There is a work for us all to do, whether they be good or bad is to be judged at our death. In our humanly body we most all of us have worked a job. If we had worked two weeks and not received a paycheck, we would probably be slightly upset. Just the same, if the employer paid you in advance and you never did the work. So where do you place yourself in your commitment level when it comes to doing Gods work? There's a reason that we work for Christ. You must examine yourselves and make sure that you've fought a good fight the best that you could. One can't work themselves into Heaven, only by grace alone will one be allowed into Heaven. 2 Timothy 4:8; crown of righteousness James 1:12; crown of life 1 Peter 5:4; crown of glory Rev 4:4; crowns of gold Is it right to reward a person that does nothing versus a person that does it all? Rev 4:8-10 These crowns were given back to Jesus, cast at His feet by those that earned the crowns. Something that we could give back only because He is worthy and not us. Just imagine being there and not having anything to give back.
Preached by Tommy Boring on December 2, 2018 (Sunday Morning).
A Little Space For Grace
Ezra 9:1-10 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Have you ever been in a place where you know that a person has been given ever opportunity to make things right with God but they don't take it? The preacher can warn and scold but nothing will change until those begin to turn from their wicked ways. God loves the sinner. There is and will be a great price to pay for sins and rebellion. Satan doesn't want anyone to have any victory with God. So where is the church right now? Ezra 9:8; each and every time the Christian takes one step in Gods direction Satan is two steps on their heals. We still have a problem to this day and it's called sin. If you call yourself holy, a Christian, then you have a terrible urge to satisfy your flesh. The only way to find true victory is to turn your back to sin. We are living in a little space of grace. Compared to eternity this time that we live on earth is just a short time. One reason that grace is still here is to allow a way of escape. Isa 55:6; there is a end where grace will be no more. Seek Him while grace is here. Another reason is to be a nail for God. Once He saves you, be an anchor, unmovable. We are secure in His grace. The last reason is to support. God will never stop loving His sheep, searching, providing for, building up, reviving. In the end of a Christians life, they will be revived with Him for eternity. Grace expires when the rapture occurs.

No Excuses, Pastors, Peace, Warn & Comfort
1 Thessalonians 5:12-24 (Part of the The Need For Christian Duties series).
We should be living and growing towards God. Here you will see a series of things that need to be done. There are many religions or cults that are based on works and works only. The truth is that works without being saved is nothing, empty.

No Excuses: Eph 4:1 Christians are not excused for Gods work. Every Christian has been called by God to do His duties. The flesh wants to only do what pleases it and it is lazy and wants to not do anything. 2 Tim 1:12-13 we should hold fast the Word of God, truth.

Pastors: 1 Thes 5:12-13 Christians should understand fully the work of the pastor. We should love them and lift them up before God. It's not the person but the function that should be cherished and loved. Man didn't setup the church, God did and ordained it as His.

Peace: We should also be at peace with each other and not bicker amongst ourselves. Rom 12:18 if two people are saved then peace should be between the two. Rom 14:19 we should follow after things that are peaceful with others. There is no place within the body of Christ for grudges. Psa 133:1 it's always good for unity between the Christian.

Warn: 1 Thes 5:14 we as Christians should warn the unruly or unholy. This means that in love we should approach a fellow Christian and warn them that what they are on the wrong path. We should care enough for the brethren to warn them.

Comfort: 1 Thes 5:14 if one lives long enough the less your mind remembers. We should comfort those that can not care for themselves. Gal 6:2 The body of Christ should care for those that can't do for themselves. Supporting the weak or broken. We sacrifice to give to others that give themselves.

Encouraging Patience
Galatians 6:7-10 (Part of the The Need For Christian Duties series).
Seems as if there is a great need for patience. Folks don't seem to want to wait anymore for just about everything. When we plant a garden we plant seeds, those seeds take time to grow. If one is patient then they should receive a great harvest.

There is a reaping whether it be a good harvest or bad. Depending on what is sowed depends on what is reaped. Consequences for sin is a harvest that can never be removed for the rest of ones life. We all have a choice to make whether they will do good or bad. Don't be deceived because the penalty for sin is great. Some of the leaders of our country are deceived. We can make laws and change them to try to make a persons live a certain way but none of these changes will ever lead to goodness. People no longer have the fear of God in their hearts therefore they live a life of worldliness. God holds your very breath and should be reverenced as such. For whatever reason God still has mercy for this country even though most have forgotten who He truly is.

No matter where you go in your life at least one of Gods people will be with you. Don't be deceived by what the world says. Just as in Noah's time, they mocked God and him as he built the ark. In the end, God sent the flood and only saved those that believed In Him, Noah's family.

Now if one plants a seed of corn then one expects a stalk of corn to grow from that seed. Why would anyone expect anything less about the choices of the way they live and sow life or death. There is a difference in knowing that you're doing wrong and continuing and not knowing. To know and do against it is called rebelling.

One can't live like they want to during the week and expect God to be worshipped on Sunday. So we should sow to the Spirit Monday thru Sunday and we will reap what we sow. How many struggle on Mondays to show your happy in your spirit? We should take every opportunity we get to uplift our fellow man especially our brothers and sisters in Christ. But, something holds us back and it's because we are humans and therefore we are sinners. We should fight against the sinful nature of our flesh striving to overcome it to uplift the name of Jesus.

If you act like, dress like, talk like and look like the world, then how is the world supposed to know that you're a Christian?

Seeds don't grow instantly, therefore don't give up. People usually don't come to Jesus instantly, don't give up on them! Keep planting the seeds of love and be patient.

Preached by Tommy Boring on March 11, 2018 (Sunday Evening).
Sanctification
1 Thessalonians 5:12-28 (Part of the The Need For Christian Duties series).
In order to perform the Christian duties, one must be sanctified. Many will think they are doing His will but in their end, God will tell them that He never knew them.

Sanctified means, set apart. More importantly, separated from evil. The question is not about what's on the inside for if you've been saved, God dwells within. The truth is, is that the outside is flesh and it fails daily will always fail until it's made into a heavenly body.

2 Cor 6:17, a Christian should be different than the world. Heb 10:14, for a Christian the inside (soul) is what's made new, the outside remains the same. The outward is a constant battle to bring under subjection. 2 Tim 1:12, we as Christians can not keep our salvation because it wasn't us that saved us. Once we are saved, we are always saved. We as humans have plaques that trouble the flesh. Lusts of the flesh cause us as humans to fall short of His perfectness. However, we must repent of our sins when the sins are realized and pointed out by God. God has never made a mistake therefore when He saved you, it wasn't a mistake and He will not take it back. Gods word has not changed and will not change.

We should remove ourselves from the worldly things. Most don't like to step away because it sets the up to be ridiculed. How is anyone to know that a Christian is a Christian if they do the same things as a lost person? There's a lot of Christians that want to get better. The reason is because they want to bless God, He's worth it! But, serving God brings forth works and that's what the world will see. Now salvation is NOT about works, works is the result of salvation.

Titus 3:8, sanctification and works are linked because you can't have works from God until you've been sanctified. We as Christian should follow, obey and serve Him because we are in a great debt because God has paid for our sins. Please stop and make sure you're not going along with the crowd. Did you know that someone is ALWAYS watching you? Heb 10:24, you won't find a lot of talk about works in a Baptist church because it's easily confused for non believers. Just as its been said, works are the result of salvation. Works without salvation is just work and will not be recognized by Christ as works for Him in the end. Christians can't do the work of God on their own. In order to make Holy fruit, it has to start with something Holy.

Are you saved? One can't move to the next step unless they've been saved. Check your heart, have you been saved?
Preached by Tommy Boring on March 4, 2018 (Sunday Evening).
Faith of a Child
2 Kings 5:1-15 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
People often limit themselves because they feel as if they are unworthy.

We are all the same as we are all sinners. The difference is that if you've been born again then your a sinner saved by grace yet, still a sinner.

God is the same God that He was yesterday for He still hasn't changed. Once you've been born again there should be a burden to tell everyone what God has done for you. The work and sharing of God can sometimes be physical or by words it can also be by living it day in and out. We should all want to be changed and want to receive a double portion of His love everyday.

Don't we want something for our people? The devil is doing his very best to destroy them all. We all need a double portion, a filling up of Gods love and power to do His will. In most cases children tend to simply believe things that are told to them. Adults grow to harden their hearts and doubt what they hear and see. This makes it more and more difficult to believe a simple message and truth of Jesus to be born again.

The power of God is not in us but in God that dwells in us that are saved. The power of God comes out by obedience. Our faith in God can make a difference because He is limitless. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

One Step Doesn't Make a Journey
Acts 2:41-42 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
It takes one step to start the journey. There is not one person that knows for how long they are going to live. So how are you going to live those steps? What matters is the dash between your birth date and death date. We have no choice of when we are born and likewise our death. Have we not wasted years of our lives on junk. God will examine our journey and the junk will all be burnt. If you're waiting for the Spirit of God to show up before you began to worship, if you're saved then the Spirit lives inside you. We all have our own minds to make up whether we serve God or not. No one else can serve God for you. If you have children in your life then they are always watching you which means you are constantly teaching them. So what are you teaching those children about church, God? God knows why you come to church and it's just as bad to attend church unwilling and hindering His word than to simply lay out. If you've been saved then you've been purchased therefore you no longer own yourself, you live for Him now. Now your life matters when it comes to God. It's not about just getting into Heaven. Does Wednesday matter? What about Tuesday? When does it become okay to not live for God? Who's choice was it to join the church? What happened then when you made the choice to not follow Gods Word about not failing to assemble themselves together in the church service?

The Primitive Baptist association are made up of several churches and was established back in 1802. Associations of churches are not usual but ours has been going on for over 200 years. If some people do not take an interest into the association, it will dissolve. Now the association can NOT get one into Heaven but there are some things that are important. Most of the pastors of NPPBC were not from NPPBC, they were from other churches.

If you are interested in our churches history or the Association, you may find more information under the About Menu link. Here is a direct link to the minutes of the past Association Meetings.

Keep Fighting
Romans 8:10 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
The key to life is Romans 8:2. At one time there was a time when slavery was ok and not against the law. A slave owner would tell his slaves what to do and when to do it. But something changed and the Emmancipation Proclimation was created and therefore freed all slaves from their owners. Even though that change took place there were still slave owners even though they owned no slaves. They were still known as a slave owner just as the slave was known as a former slave. Just as in death, the body can not speak. If we are a Christian we should shut our body down to the flesh and let only God work thru us. You can never please God thru the flesh but only thru the spirit. It's Gods will to see the lost saved and those to live in a life abundantly. We open the door to sin each and every time because we live in the flesh but we should remove those things. If one plays with sin the sooner it'll burn you. Once you open the door to sin it might be small at first but it'll soon add up and become larger to where it can quickly overcome. We should be very careful with the things that we partake of and make sure it's of God and not of the devil. One must leave sin alone, turn from it and not return to it. The "slave owner" still lives today and calls to everyone in order to control them. The slave owner being Satan wants all of us to be controlled in order to be destroyed. He hates everyone and wants everyone to be with him in an eternal fire. He wants to control the Christians life so that they stumble and create a false example of God and His love. Satan wants to control the lost persons life in order to rid the world of Christians because he hates God. The Christian should never give in to sin. Put your eyes in the Word of God and know what it means to be a child of God.

Let Your Light Shine
Matthew 5:3-16 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).

The children are the church of tomorrow and we should be striving to bring them to Jesus or take Jesus to them. Our children go thru a lot more than what we would have ever dreamed about during their time in school. We can't save a person but we must love them and explain to them that God loves them.

A lot of churches today don't care about the salvation but mostly about the number that's seated in the sanctuary. Salvation is more than a church attendance. Make sure the church that you attend is following the Word of God and in order for you to know this, you must study it for yourself.

Make sure you let your light shine to others. It might be small but it's still a light in the world full of darkness. The truth of salvation is that once your saved, that is when your battle truly will begin. Satan will not bother you while your lost because your still one of his. After salvation your one of Gods and Satan will try his best to cause you to stumble to show others that they do not need salvation. Salvation requires work and that work is specialized to your soul. God calls each person to do a work. To some, it might be praying, others it could be missions and then the next it could be to simply testify.

A lot of people don't get saved because they worry what others might think. The truth is, don't let them discourage you into Hell. When God removes a sin or a problem from your life, don't pick it back up. He removed it, don't let Satan talk you back into it! If being saved promised you a life of luxury then there wouldn't be anyone turning it away. There's not anyone that wouldn't want to live a perfect life of happiness where things ALWAYS go their way. The truth about a humans life is that we ALL have ups and downs and nothing can make it a perfect life. But having Jesus in your life means you have someone to fight for you in your times of need. It also means that when you die, you'll have an eternal life of happiness and joy everlasting. Passing away without Jesus means you'll live your eternal life in Hell where you'll be tormented unlike anything you've ever imagined.

Preached by Dustin Parks on August 30, 2017 (Wednesday).
Prepare Our Hearts For The Ditch
Luke 10:25-37 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Lack of compassion, mercy and love. It must be things that are done but not said. A lot of us are talkers but not doers. Anyone can love someone that loves them back but on the flip side it's loving those that don't love back. If we loved as God loves it wouldn't matter about race, money or class. Luke 6:27-36 how many of those can you say you've gotten right and done them according to His word? It's not in a humans mind to be kind to those that hurt us. An excerpt from "Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire" -Jim Cymbala "Dear God, I know that You died for everyone in my community. I know You suffered, bled and died for every human being walking outside my church. So Lord, tomorrow I pray in the Name of Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit, call them in; any color, homeless, poor. Bring them in. We'll love them. We'll be Your hand extended to them. We will nurse them. We will bless them. We will weep over them. Send them in, O God, in Jesus' Name." Are you willing to say that prayer? No one was worthy of his love and we were all in the lowest of lowest. When the sinner does come in they all come in, in all forms. We often have stereotyped the unclean and the visual appearance of those that we feel are unworthy of a Gods and our love. Sin comes in a suit and tie or in nothing at all, tattoos from head to toe or not a tattoo at all, from the cleanest to the dirtiest, from no hair to the longest hair. This world is nasty, dirty and stinks but God called us to love the sinners just as He loves them. The problem is that there are no workers, no one to love them that are in the nastiest of ditches. We try to say that we don't have a neighbor but what God says that your neighbor is ANYONE that you pass or meet. Don't we like to make excuses to why we can't help because we've got something to do, we are too busy? We should go out to the hedges, where people hang out and do things in secret and try to bring them to Christ. An excerpt from "Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire" -Jim Cymbala I've been rebuked by the Lord many times because what I am preaching to you, I've had to learn. I will tell you the story of how God corrected me one day. On Easter Sunday some years ago, we had an outreach in the last service, and a girl in the choir which Carol, my wife, conducts gave her testimony in between some of the songs. She had been saved out of deep sin. Then I preached the Gospel. People came forward. At that time we were having three services a day, each two hours long. That Easter Sunday I was so tired at the end of the day that I just went to the edge of the platform, pulled down my tie and sat down and draped my feet over the edge. The prayer workers were praying for people I had invited to receive Christ. I was sitting there bone tired. There had been lines outside. We had turned hundreds of people away for lack of space. As I was sitting there I looked up the middle aisle, and there in about the third row was a man who looked about fifty, disheveled, filthy. He looked up at me rather sheepishly, as if saying, "Could I talk to you?" We have homeless people coming in all the time, asking for money or whatever. So as I sat there, I said to myself, though I am ashamed of it, "What a way to end a Sunday. I've had such a good time, preaching and ministering, and here's a fellow probably wanting some money for more wine." He walked up. When he got within about five feet of me, I smelled a horrible smell like I'd never smelled in my life. It was so awful that when he got close, I would inhale by looking away, and then I'd talk to him, and then look away to inhale, because I couldn't inhale facing him. I asked him, "What's your name?" "David." "How long have you been on the street?" "Six years." "How old are you?" "Thirty-two." He looked fifty; hair matted; front teeth missing; wino; eyes slightly glazed. "Where did you sleep last night, David?" "Abandoned truck." I keep in my back pocket a money clip that also holds some credit cards. I fumbled to pick one out thinking, I'll give him some money. I won't even get a worker. They are all busy praying with others. Usually we don't give money to people. We take them to get something to eat. I took the money out. David pushed his finger in front of me. He said, "I don't want your money. I want this Jesus this girl was talking about, the One you were talking about, because I'm not going to make it. I'm going to die on the street." I completely forgot about David, and I started to weep for myself. I was going to give a couple dollars to someone God had sent to me. See how easy it is? I could make the excuse I was tired. There is no excuse. I was not filled with the Spirit. I was not seeing him the way God sees him. I was not feeling what God feels. But oh, did that change! David just stood there. He didn't know what was happening. I pleaded with God, "God, forgive me! Forgive me! Please forgive me. I am so sorry to represent You this way. I'm so sorry. Here I am with my message and my points, and You send somebody and I am not ready for it. Oh, God!" And God baptized me afresh with love. Something came over me. Suddenly I started to weep deeper, and David began to weep because he could feel what was happening in me. He fell against my chest as I was sitting there. He fell against my white shirt and tie, and I put my arms around him, and there we wept on each other. The smell of His person became a beautiful aroma. Here is what I thought the Lord made real to me: if you and Carol don't love this smell, I can't use you, because this is why I called you where you are. This is what you are about. You are about this smell. It's beautiful. Christ changed David's life. He started memorizing portions of Scripture that were incredible. We got him a place to live. We hired him in the church to do maintenance, and we got his teeth fixed. He was a handsome man when he came out of the hospital. They detoxed him in about six days. He spent that Thanksgiving at my house. He also spent Christmas at my house. When we were exchanging presents, he pulled out a little thing and he said, "This is for you." It was a little white hanky. It was the only thing he could afford. A year later I had him give his testimony. The minute he took the mic and began to speak, I said, "The man is a preacher." This past Easter I helped ordain David. He's an associate pastor of a church in New Jersey. And I was so close to saying, "Here, take this; I'm a busy preacher." We can get so full of ourselves.

The Cross and the Crown (Part 2 of 2)
1 Corinthians 9:18-27 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
If there was nothing more than peace on earth, then it would be worth it all. But there is another place that been prepared for those that are born again. Some say that if that could just get in the gate to Heaven then it'll be alright. But this is not biblical. Just as running a marathon, practice and self discipline is much needed. All the track running and winning one can do will bring forth great gifts of money and trophies. These items will all burn up and are only temporary. People do not see the gift of God therefor they do not do Gods Work in order to obtain His reward. In this world we must carry our cross, burdens but in the end you'll trade your cross for a crown. James 1:12 the crown of life. Heaven will never end, life everlasting, the greatest reward of being born again. People live and die by your testimony. 2 Tim 4:8 there will be a crown of righteousness if we have done our part and love Jesus and worked for Him. 1 Peter 5:4 a crown of Glory will be obtained by those that preach His word. Rev 5:8-10 these are the descriptions of the elders, those that have been born again. Rev 4:9-11 this is the reason we as a Christian have crowns. The more you can do for God as a Christian, the more you'll have to lay at His feet to honor Him.

It's About Love
1 Corinthians 13:13 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
At times we feel as if we are at a crossroads, a place where we could go in different directions. This building was placed here in our community on purpose and not by mistake. God has purposes that go beyond our flesh, thoughts. So as a body of believers in our church what is something we could all grab onto? Love. Love must be at the root of all we do. Faith and Hope will all end one day but Love will go on forever. In this life we must have faith and hope but love is greater than either one. The origin of love is God Himself. Love is powerful! It was the Love of God that saved our souls. When it comes to the love of God one must give up the flesh. Most are not on the same page with live because they live differently. If one loves themselves more than others, that's a problem. The gospel is all about love. We should go out and seek others because we love them and God loves them.
Preached by Tommy Boring on January 15, 2017 (Sunday Morning).
Changers
Acts 10:1-22 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
We must have confidence in God but in order to do that we must change. Everyone wants to go to heaven but in order to do that we must be changed. We often go out and look at others and think that God would have a hard time saving them. The first thing that will help us to change is to pray. Get and make a private time that's between you and God and nothing else. We must also not look to ourselves in doing all the work. The work can only be done when we allow God to do the work and not ourselves. We have the Word which is God if we are saved to share to the lost but, we can only share it when we are in the shape to share it. There will always be someone around you that will not make a decision to follow God but, don't let them discourage you. We are currently living in a grace period where God loves us beyond our sins but, soon the grace will leave us when Jesus comes back. God doesn't look upon us currently and judge our sins. One sin is just as much as a million sins no matter the humanly made level. We must always know that nothing is higher than Jesus. Cancer is lower than Jesus. Habitual sin is lower than Jesus. Worldly things are lower than Jesus. The president is lower than Jesus. Jesus is reclusive as He is the only way into heaven. There are many religions in the world and most are based on works but all are lies from Satan unless Jesus Christ is the only way to Salvation. Often we like to embellish what God has spoken to us only to add lies to His Word. This is a sin and should never take place. Stick to the truth, Gods Word and do not change or add to His Word.
Preached by Steve Howard on December 28, 2016 (Wednesday).
Spectators of the Work
Luke 10:1-12 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Whatever hinders you from doing what the Word of God says, you need to deal with. The hardest IS great! How many days go by without you saying anything to a lost person about your salvation. Isa 5:18 Hell is growing larger and larger each day. God plainly says to go out into the world and compel them to come to church. Once you're born again or saved you're job has just begun NOT that you should just sit back and do nothing. You as the saved are the only gospel some may ever see or know. The great falling away is NOT an excuse that you can ever give to God for your lack of care for the lost. Many once they leave the church house, preacher or the church members they begin to act, dress and talk like the world. A saved person should be a different people called out amongst the lost. Do you realize that your brain could simply stop functioning and any given moment? Your heart could stop and the flip of a switch. God controls your life and we should act like it. You've got the answer to the lost persons need for salvation if you're born again. The sad news is that not everyone will be saved because they will reject Gods only son, Jesus Christ. This is fact and truth from the Word of God and can not be changed but, this doesn't give a saved person the excuse to not share Jesus with them. If you've got a big work to do then you should have a lot of people to do it or it will never get done. The preacher can not reach every lost person, that's why we as the saved must go out and compel them to be born again. So what do you do if you don't have enough workers, you go out and get more. When the harvest is ready, then you must get it in, work it. There are a lot of spectators that want to see the work of God but unwilling to surrender to God and do His work. Jesus went far and beyond for your life, why can't you go that far for Him? What do you have to lose? The Lord of the harvest is God and we should be praying to Him for more workers, help. We are not to pray harder for the lost, we need more help. The church doesn't need more bodies in the building, they need more workers. If a company had 100 employees that just sat and did nothing, the company would fail. But if a company had 100 employees that all worked, the company would grow and flourish. God has called everyone that's saved for a work and we should ALL be doing it. What's your purpose of being saved? The preacher has just as much responsibility as the lay member. Gal 4:8, Luke 4:14 God already wants to save the lost, John 3:16, so we can stop asking Him to do what He already wants to do. The problem is that God needs workers and we are unwilling to work and just want God to do what we want. The story of the little red hen. We have a reward coming for the work that God has called us to do, but we have to do it to receive it. If something in your life keeps you from doing the will of God, remove it, cut it out of your life. Everyone wants to see God, go to heaven, want the reward...

Perfect and Complete
1 Kings 18:41-46 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
If you get close enough to God you'll begin to hear things and see things that others can't see. So what are you praying for? What are seeking after? God wants to save every person in the world. God is trying to do a work in each and every person but we must stay the course. So you want to be closer to God? Get the sin out of your life, ask God to arrest your soul. You state you don't want God to be your number one and care nothing about those things, you need to be saved! Life comes from life. One can't build something out of death. What does "seven" mean in the Word of God? In the beginning you'll find that on the seventh day it is the sabbath, seven days in a week. In Leviticus you'll find that during the teaching of sacrificing they were to sprinkle the blood seven times. Lepers when healed were to be sprinkled seven times with the doves blood. In Joshua 6 they were to march and around Jericho seven days and on the seventh day to blow the trumpets and then the walls fell. The leper Naman was healed only after dipping seven times. In Revelations, seven stars and seven candle sticks and seven strong churches. Seven seals, trumpets, plaques and wraths all in seven years. Matthew, Luke and John all wrote down their views that Jesus spoke during the crucifixion. Luke 23:34 - Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. John 19:26-27 - Woman, behold thy son! Behold thy mother! Luke 23:43 - Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise. Matthew 27:46 - My God, my God, why hath thou forsaken thee? John 19:28 - I thirst. Luke 23:46 - Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit. John 19:30 - It is finished What God does is perfect and complete.

We Need to Rebuild the Altar of God
1 Kings 18:30-39 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Mans heart is continually evil when there's no God in it. We all have a God shaped hole that can only be answered and filled by God Himself. It's not enough we come to church and nod at the preacher and pray little prayers. Prayer needs to be a two way straight. Our relationship with God should be a two way relationship. That's how we grow. Pray! Things don't happen because we don't pray. We need to repair the altars. How do they get broken down? 1. On purpose - willfully contrary to God living as if they have no God. 2. Weak - some who have not grown in the Lord neglected the truth and need to use what God has given them. If God can do all things then why are they not happening? Because we didn't ask. These small prayers of food and clothes are already provided for. We should seek God for the extraordinary. Altars are necessary points of intersection. Most of us pray selfish prayers. We've not surrendered to the will of God. If you get serious with God, He'll get serious with you. There's a reason to pray for the souls of mankind that need intercession. A sacrifice is involved at the altar of God in order to get right with God. We must get rid of something. The altar of God is a place of intercession and sacrifice. Prayer is a dialogue and not a monologue. Anything you rely on that's not God is Baal, a false god. The altars of God are also of faith. The altar was established for the people to restore the people back to God. When you pray, believe God can do the things you ask and He will. When you truly commit yourself to prayer your life will change. The altar is also a place of action. Gods children are more than spectators. We have an active work to do. Every member of the body of God is expected to carry the load. Not just a few but everyone should do their part. We have to respond as a people to God in order to see prayers answered and live changed.

Are You Still Doing Your Part?
John 14:8-15 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Being a Christian means we must work, it's never over being a Christian. Just because we get old doesn't mean we sit down and stop working. We all as Christians have a great work to do. We as the Christians are His mouth, hands, feet, the whole body of Christ. You can do all things, through Christ. Christ will not ask you to do something that He Himself hasn't already done. We should all be serious with the calling that Christ has given us. Christians are all a part of the same body, one not over the other. If one doesn't take care of their yard it will quickly turn into a mess. It turns into a mess because it's your yard to take care of. We are not saved by our works. Once you're saved, you're called to work.

The Sovereignty of God
Daniel 4:27-37 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Have you ever tried to grasp God? He is omnipotent. He created all. He is the King of kings. Yet we try everyday to take the control away from God. We say we believe that God is in control of everything and yet won't give Him full control of our lives. When it comes to our prayers we always shortchange God. Our prayers are weak and are manipulated by Satan. Psalm 118:1 God is always good. Either God is in full control or He's not. Regardless whether you understand why God allows certain things doesn't make God wrong and not in control. Our faith is not on the physical but of the spiritual. Most have experienced bad things in our lives but, God is always God through it all. In all things gives thanks. God is not worried about the upcoming elections. Nothing that the devil does surprises God. Nothing sneaks up on God. Romans 8:28 Everything works out for the good of God and will never fail us that are one of His.
