A Voice Above All Other
John 10:1-5 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
God speaks to people in different ways. In Genesis you'll read how God spoke in the dreams of Joseph. Yet in Matthew 1:20-24; 2:13; 2:19; 2:22 we read where another Joseph was talked to in his dreams by God. However still today, God still speaks in many ways. Make sure when you think you hear God speak that it's of God. Gods made of wood, gold or stone will never speak back. Some are confused about Gods speech and expect Him to verbally speak in a loud voice to them. Some confuse His voice with things of this world. In the end, you WILL know when He speaks because His voice bares witness with your soul.

Have you ever thought about your kidneys functioned? How about your lungs when they expanded? Have you ever stopped to be thankful for those simple but very important things?

Not only does God speak to our mind but He also speaks to our hearts. Thru Gods speech to our hearts, conviction of sin is made therefore bringing forth repentance or Salvation. We should at all times pray without ceasing. Prayer is not just a one way speech but a two way conversation.

John 10:1-5 notice how the shepherd calls the sheep and they hear his voice and will only answer to his voice. If you're one of His then you know His voice and you should follow Him always.

Getting Back To Basics
2 Timothy 3:10-17 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
We've all been called into the ministry whether it be a preacher to a song leader to a praying individual. All scripture is given by the inspiration of God. The end of all arguments starts and ends with the Word of God. We hear a lot about doctrine right now. We label everything from churches to books and hymnals. The first label that should be applied is, Christian. If you say that the spirit witnessed with you, it doesn't matter what you say if it doesn't line up with the Word of God. Some will say that the bible is hard to read, understand. That statement is true but we do not read the Sunday paper, it's an instruction manual from God Himself. All scripture is of God, not just the pieces that we like and then dismiss the parts that we don't like. Some doctrines will tell you that as long as you believe and follow God then you'll be blessed with all these wonderful things. However, the bible clearly states in 2 Tim 3:12 that if you live for Christ you will go thru problems, persecution. We should study the Word daily, reading it, meditating on it and memorizing it. People are looking for answers all over the place, so we should have an answer for them from God to help them. Many folks that's been saved for many years are still babes, still on the milk when it comes to their spiritual growth. At times when we study and read the bible the things that we read might hurt us like getting a spanked. Those things do hurt and they are there for reproof and not to ignore. During readIng the bible it will bring us to correction at times. Once correction is made we should repent. Your Sunday school teacher is probably a hypocrite just like the rest of us but that doesn't make it right. We will all fail at some point and tell someone to live this way but we will live the opposite. The devil will come between Christians and try to cause conflict with anything and it seems that a lot of it currently is about doctrine. In the end, the doctrine is good but Jesus is more important. The focus should be about Jesus and Him crucified. We get caught up in the happiness of the world and fail to see the goodness of the end reward.

Possession and Profession of Faith
James 2:19-20 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
We are fortunate to live in a place that the Word of God is common. Do you understand the difference between knowing there is a God and knowing God. Just because you believe there is a God doesn't mean that you are saved. We believe that our cars will start. We believe that the leftovers in here fridge will not make us sick and are still good to eat. Even the devils believe there is only one God but that doesn't mean they are born again. People live that there is always a tomorrow. They live as if there is no judgement. Many have professed that they know Jesus Christ but they do not live for Him. Just because you believe that the sun will come up tomorrow doesn't mean that it will. Faith without a work is not a faith. True faith will compel you to do things you would rather not do. You could go to church all your life and still go to hell if you're not saved. Your church membership will not get you into heaven. How will you know that you've been saved? There will be a change, not outward but inward.  The bible has been given to give life, a working faith.
