The Call To Prayer; Brush Your Teeth
Jeremiah 33:1-3 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Often times we are better prayers when trouble comes around. Why does God have to command us to pray? Because left to our own demise we would never talk to Him. If we’re honest we would admit that if God didn’t command us to pray then we wouldn’t. Have you ever forgotten to eat, sleep, go to work, bathe, brush your teeth? However, how many of us have given that excuse when it comes to prayer, “I forgot to pray”. So why does He command us, because we would surely forget. There are never an excuse when it comes to talking/praying to God. Do you realize that we entertain ourselves instead of praying to God? What if God removed the things that kept us from praying? How many times a day does the flesh win over prayer? Do we honestly think that God has no idea what our lives consist of? He knows we have jobs, families, etc, but do no be deceived, He also knows when we make an excuse to not pray. Remember when our parents constantly told us to brush our teeth? Hopefully at some point it became a habit, a lifestyle. Just the same should prayer become in our lives for the rest of our lives. It’s not up to leaders within the church to be the only ones that pray. When you’ve been a command what are we to do? Obey! When we live a life without prayer we are living in a mess. Have you ever prayed and felt as if God didn’t answer you? This is because you’re living in sin. Three points of why prayers didn’t go anywhere. The first thing is sin. The only thing God is listening for if you’re living in sin is, “forgive me God”. He will not bless over disobedience. The second reason is that it’s not His will. When we pray and ask things that are not within His will then God will not answer us. Just because we want something doesn’t mean that we get it. The third is unbelief. We should pray and believe that He is God. If we doubt that He can’t do it or is not God over all then He will not hear from us. There should be times in our life when it because intimate between us and God. Nothing else during that time should matter.

A Deadly Sin
John 8:1-11 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
A lot of Christians these days want to point out others sins in front of everyone. It's not everyone's business what bad things that are happening in someone's life or in your church. We must be careful how we bring things up to others. These people brought this woman and made a scene with her in front of everyone. She knew she was in the wrong, no one had to say anything to bring that to light. This woman was embarrassed and if she was left alone with nothing happening she probably would have felt mad, angry, and bitter towards the church. If we were still under the law there would be none of us that would be able to keep them. According to the 10 Commandments, if one of those rules were broken then you'd be stoned to death. How many times have you been put to death today for breaking just one of those commandments today? When our brothers and sisters are down or in a sinful nature we should want to help them out of the ditch. The church should be lifting up their pastor because they have downer days as well. We should be pleasing our neighbors. This can be done in different ways not just by works. If you're pleasing God then you'll want to please your neighbor. Thinking about the life of Jesus. Do you think He had the thoughts of doubts? We know He did at one point because He was scared and prayed to make sure He was to do what His father was telling Him to do. Sin is sin no matter how big or small we want to label them.

Yet, There Is Room
Luke 14:15-24 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
There's an importance for us as Christians to be doing our part. Churches all across the world are inviting the lost in to be saved. But just as in biblical times, people are known to give excuses why they don't want to come. Salvation can't be obtained by your wanting, it's by invitation only. Do you feel separated from God? Do you feel as if you've been left out? God loves you and there is room at His table for you. Many feel as if it'll embarrass someone or themselves if they come to the house of God. Thinking about the story of Noah. God didn't give Noah the dimensions for the Ark to save the world because He knew that they wouldn't come. Clearly there was plenty of room for hundreds of people but only 8 were saved. Noah did his part warning the people and inviting them to be saved from the flood. Noah didn't shut the door of the ark, God did. The woman with an issue of blood knew that all she had to do was to just touch Him she'd be healed. There were hundreds of people there that day and many people were touching him. But Jesus knew right away when she touched Him. No matter what, press towards Him. There once was a man and his friends that needed healing but the crowd was too large. His friends knew what was needed and they climbed the building and tore off the roof to lower their friend down to Jesus. Jesus healed him and he walked out of the building. There is room for you. John the revelator seen things that he wrote about in revelation. He seen a number that no man could number when he looked into Heaven. The last thing he wrote about was that the spirit says, come. Even though in Heaven there is a number at that time that no man could number, God says there is still room for you. Just for you! Right before Jesus came into the world they were looking for a place for Him to be born. They struggled a place for Him. There was no room. The contrast is that He has a place just for you prepared. All you have to do is to accept His invitation. Once His table is full then there will be no more invitations sent.

Get "Jonah" Out Of The Boat
Jonah 1:15-16 (Part of the Revival 2018 series).
There's not one person that's not been tempted. A lot of times we like to give credit to the devil, "the devil made me do it". We like to blame not doing something that God told us to do on ignorance.
Sin is willing to pay whatever price to get in your life. John 10:10, sin is willing to and so will you. Are you willing to make the payment as well? Sin is just pleasurable for just a season. Our season take of a quarter of the year, the rest is another. This means that the rest of the sin payment is three quarters longer.
Sin is just a downward spiral. Sin will pull you down further and further.
Sin will always pull you away from God. There's a wedge, a distance between you and God. You may have created some distance but God ALWAYS knows what you're doing and watching. God isn't going anywhere so if there is distance, you've created it.
Sin will cause destruction. You might bend for a little while but sin will begin to tear and destroy your life. Homes, families, lives, churches have all been destroyed because of sin.
Sin will get rid of the Godly things. The bible will go, the studying, the praying, holiness, righteousness, church attendance, kindness, tender hearted, forgiveness to others, these are all things that will be cast out if you keep the sin in your life.
Sin will sit back and laugh at you when you're fighting for everything you've got. It will run off and leave you deserted.
Sin will get so great that you won't be able to get rid of it. You must give the sin to God and He will rid it for you.
Romans 6:23, death is the payment for sin. We play with sin like a live grenade.

Mark 1:1-11 (Part of the Communion Services series).
Jesus warned us that we should prepare ourselves to eat and drink of His body. God commanded them to make offerings unto Him as an atonement of their sins. It's all a very serious thing. It wasn't but a few years ago people knew that God was serious. People young and old, saved and lost, respected who God was and still is today. The bible tells us in the beginning a certain man would come as a final atonement for ALL sins. Throughout the bible we read of this man. The way to Heaven. Christ Himself said that He was going to prepare a place for Himself AND for us. There is but only one way to Heaven and that is thru Jesus Christ and NO other way, He Himself said this.
