Get On Board the S.S. Grace
Genesis 6:1-8 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
SS sometimes stood for sailing ship or steamship but think about safe and secure. The world right now is spiraling out of control with evil. We all come into another SS which is sin sick. When Jesus laid His body down for the ultimate sacrifice He offered up His own blood to a His father for all of our sins then and now.

Noah had to proclaim for about 120 years that their time was numbered. Everyone made fun of him and called him crazy because of what he was telling them about water falling from the sky. They'd never seen anything like that because the earth was watered from the ground up. Just like today's times, we are warning others about a his second coming but everyone mocks the Christian because they haven't seen Jesus.

The door of the ark was shut and sealed. Jesus will only come to a lost person so many times to which He only promises but one time. When you turn Him away, you've shut the door to Christ and once the door is shut, it's shut for good. Your fate is forever sealed. During the flood not only was it raining from above but water was coming up from the ground as well. It did this for 40 days and 40 nights across the entire world. It created a new world fresh with Noah's family which followed a Gods word.

Moses', his mother knew he was to be killed so she made an ark out of weeds, bulrush. God told the woman that found him that she couldn't do on her own so she set out to find a help. The help was actually Moses very own mother to which she raised him right in the middle of the people that wanted to kill him.

There was a ship that Paul was on and a really bad storm set in. God came to Paul and told him that they were to lose everything they had except their lives as long as they stayed in the ship. They ran aground and the ship tore apart but the people never let go of the ship. None of them lost there lives because they obeyed and never left the ship however they lost everything they had.

Religion will not save a person. Never has, never will.

You Better Know It
Ephesians 2:8-10 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
Many folks will tell you that there are many ways into Heaven. In the beginning God created everything. Throughout time before you can create something one must have something first. When God created the heavens and the earth He created something out of nothing. The ones that have died and gone to Hell, they all wish that they listened to the ones that warned them about Hell and how to avoid it. What is the will of God? It's not Gods will that anyone perish, therefore He wants everyone to go to Heaven. It's your choice to go to heaven when God calls you to be saved. There are a lot of good people in the world. Some do good works because they want the attention while others do it because they care or love others. But no amount of good works will get one into Heaven. In Matthew 7:15, God warns everyone of deceivers. We must study the bible to know the truth. There are some leaders that lead falsely for money, attention or simply because they are being deceived themselves. Know your bible inside and out, bury it deep inside your heart. Some will say that the old, KJV writings is too hard to understand, they are correct but it's not the translations. It's a heart condition, one should study no matter how hard it is, study and pray for God to give you the understanding.

Getting Back To Basics
2 Timothy 3:10-17 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
We've all been called into the ministry whether it be a preacher to a song leader to a praying individual. All scripture is given by the inspiration of God. The end of all arguments starts and ends with the Word of God. We hear a lot about doctrine right now. We label everything from churches to books and hymnals. The first label that should be applied is, Christian. If you say that the spirit witnessed with you, it doesn't matter what you say if it doesn't line up with the Word of God. Some will say that the bible is hard to read, understand. That statement is true but we do not read the Sunday paper, it's an instruction manual from God Himself. All scripture is of God, not just the pieces that we like and then dismiss the parts that we don't like. Some doctrines will tell you that as long as you believe and follow God then you'll be blessed with all these wonderful things. However, the bible clearly states in 2 Tim 3:12 that if you live for Christ you will go thru problems, persecution. We should study the Word daily, reading it, meditating on it and memorizing it. People are looking for answers all over the place, so we should have an answer for them from God to help them. Many folks that's been saved for many years are still babes, still on the milk when it comes to their spiritual growth. At times when we study and read the bible the things that we read might hurt us like getting a spanked. Those things do hurt and they are there for reproof and not to ignore. During readIng the bible it will bring us to correction at times. Once correction is made we should repent. Your Sunday school teacher is probably a hypocrite just like the rest of us but that doesn't make it right. We will all fail at some point and tell someone to live this way but we will live the opposite. The devil will come between Christians and try to cause conflict with anything and it seems that a lot of it currently is about doctrine. In the end, the doctrine is good but Jesus is more important. The focus should be about Jesus and Him crucified. We get caught up in the happiness of the world and fail to see the goodness of the end reward.

Get the Good Stuff
Hebrews 9:1-15 (Part of the Communion Services series).
Jesus prayed in the garden for His fathers will to be done that if there was another way that it be done. God knew that it would take His son to remove the sins of the world therefore there was no other way. God gave the best He had for the sins of the world. Many people are proud of their sins and make them something of importance. When Jesus prayed in the garden He prayed that the cup be passed, so what was in the cup? Sin... He knew that he would have to take on and drink in the sin. The sin would become Him just as when we take of the wine. The sin also has a savor, a bitterness. We know that when Christ died on the cross that He drunk the entire cup of sin and took the bitter sting of death. Jesus, in the garden, knew what a He was about to go thru and therefore was in agony. He was under so much stress that He began to sweat blood. Jesus knew with every step of the way what was going on. The "court" was completely against Him and so was the people. Jesus was human but He was also God. His flesh was just that, flesh, it was weak but His spirit was strong and kept His flesh moving. With each step He took and each whip He withstood, He was lifting the sin filled cup closer and closer to His lips. Since the beginning of time the altar had cried out for a sacrifice. Adam and Eve had a sacrifice made for them in order to cover their nakedness. Lambs and doves were used as sacrifices for the sins of many in the temples. When Jesus gave a his life as a living sacrifice for everyone's sins, the altar was finally satisfied and it no longer cries out. One of the cries from the cross was, why did God turn away from Jesus? Sin will separate you from God. When Jesus took our sins upon Himself, the sin made a Him feel as if He was separated from God. Just as a Christian sins they feel a separation from God and must repent to get close to God again.

Having It Your Way
Judges 21:23-25 (Part of the Miscellaneous series).
We are living in a day that if it feels right, then it's right or "ok". When a godless society declares its own truth it will go in multiple directions and towards away from God. Where there is no peace there is no hope. Truth has been delivered to a world that is ungodly. God established what was truth but people want what they want because they are selfish. Truth has been here since the foundation of the world was created. People will do what they want to do, the question is, what do you want to do? One might think that there are many different ways but there is but only one way. In our schools we removed Jesus because it's "not right". There but only one north, south is determined by north and without north one can't have east or west. If you know Jesus Christ you will know when you are barely off in your Christian life just like a compass shows north east. Electricity is to be feared as its indiscriminate of who's touching, it can and will kill quickly. If you think that our president is your hope towards a godly direction, your hope is in the wrong thing. The one thing that makes people mad is that the Word of God deems itself the only truth. Straight is the way but narrow is the gate. The doctrine that states that everyone is going to heaven is not truth. The bible plainly states that there is only two places that you'll end up in the end, heaven and hell. Heaven is for those that accept and believe in Jesus Christ, likewise those that reject Him will spend there eternal life in hell. Folks look and judge Christian especially pastors and think that they are narrow minded and have no free choice to do bad. However, they have the same ability to be just as evil as a murderer or rapist because they are human. Truth was established before a human was ever thought of and has never changed. All one has to do is research some history and see how nations have fallen and it's due to their ungodliness. People call bad, good and good, bad. Romans 3:19 The word that saves one will save others but it's not your truth, it's Gods. God loves everyone but He will not negotiate with you.
